AmyT's Journal (Comments Definitely Welcome!)

I'm so glad you're not having any candy attacks! I sure have been. Its all I can do to keep from driving to the bank just to buy a candy bar! Keep up the great work. Those darn scales will move!

HI Amy,

Good for you for going to the gym even though you didn't feel all that well. You are doing such a great job!!!!

DH orderd Girl Scout cookies too......I love them! I just have to be careful, I could eat a whole box in one sitting....well I used to be able to. Not sure what I can do now!

Keep up the great work and I hope you start to feel 100% better soon!

Happy Friday!

Hi Amy,

I've missed posting the last few days, been tooooo busy! :guilty:

Hope you're feeling all better. I hate when I feel so tired exercise is a challenge and food doesn't even sound tempting!

Have a great weekend! :sunny:

I did OK yesterday. I didn't get to the gym, I was just too stuffy! And I ate WAY too many almonds, I need to stop eating those since I have no portion control... :guilty: My weight crept back up to 136, I don't think it was because of what I ate yesterday, but more like typical PMS water gain. My favorite time of the month... I ate 3 Hershey Kisses, which I shouldn't have. Tonight we are going out with some friends, I will try to limit myself to 2 drinks and NO munchies. I did get in 100oz of water, 2 cups green tea, a DC and a Minute Maid Light:

6:15am: Egg Beaters; Oatmeal
8:30am: Balance Bar
11:45am: Chicken; Sweet Potato; Carrots
2:30pm: Egg Whites (4); Apple
5:30pm: Almonds (~30) :sad2:
6:45pm: Turkey Burger on Wheat Bun; Green Beans; Hershey Kisses (3)
WORKOUT: Walking (35min)
RESISTED: Homemade Cinnamon Rolls at work! :cheer2:

Jane, it's the end of Week #4 and I am starting to lose steam. I told DH I want the Eating for Life book for Valentine's Day. I was hoping I'd be seeing more positive results by now. I'm not going to give up, but I am really starting to get discouraged! And taking pretty much the whole week off from working out has not helped either...

Jamie, luckily DH ordered the LF Lemon cookies and some other shortbread ones, which I am not too tempted by. I should be able to behave!

Kate, unfortunately for me, I am too tired to exercise but have no problems eating... :rolleyes1

I met my Exercise Challenge!!! :thumbsup2 :woohoo: :banana: :cheer2: :cool1: :Pinkbounc :yay: I did great yesterday until dinnertime... We went out and I didn't make great choices. Oh well, I am not going to let food interfere with my enjoyment of life! I was still at 136 this morning even though I feel about 5 lbs heavier. We went to a bar in Scottsdale to celebrate our friend's son's 27th birthday and I have not seen that much cleavage in one place in a LONG time! Some of those girls really go all out. I did get in 100oz of water, a DC, a Minute Maid Light and 5 margaritas (over a span of 5 hours):

8:00am: Egg Beaters; Oatmeal
10:30am: FF Cottage Cheese; FF Yogurt
1:00pm: Egg Salad Sandwich on Wheat; Cauliflower
3:30pm: FF Cottage Cheese; Pear w/Cinnamon
7:00pm: Almonds (10)
8:00pm: Chips-n-Salsa; 2 Mahi Mahi Soft Tacos; Spanish Rice
12:00am: Hershey Kisses (4) :rolleyes:
WORKOUT: Burn & Firm Pilates (45min)
RESISTED: Chips-n-Salsa at Bar; Post Bar munching...

Well, I spent a few hours of my free day at Urgent Care with severe abdominal pains... :sad2: Without getting into TMI, I was extremely "clogged" and had a gas pocket that had pushed part of my insides up next to my ribs (ouch!). I thought it was my gallbladder or something, I couldn't take a deep breath without feeling a sharp pain. And to top it all off, the x-rays show that I have a kidney stone... :sad1: I don't understand it - I try to make sure I get at least 20g of fiber every day and I drink over 100oz of water, even on the weekends! I eat pretty darn healthy too. It just isn't fair. :confused3 :confused: So now I am trying to flush everything out - I am supposed to drink 3-4 QUARTS of water. I've already gotten 40oz in and it is just after 8am. Unfortunately I am drinking tons but it is not coming out, just hanging out making me bloated. My weight was 138 this morning! :eek: But I am not going to stress about it, my body is just not working like it should right now... Eventually it will release all this junk and I will be back down to my not-so-favorite 135... OK, enough whining. Yesterday I drank 120oz of water and shared a DC with DH:

8:00am: Frosted Mini Wheats w/Skim Milk
9:30am: Grande NF Chai Latte
11:00am: Soft Pretzel w/Mustard
1:30pm: Orange Chicken, Brown Rice; Fortune Cookie, Little Debbie Chocolate Chip Cookie Sandwich
6:30pm: Ham-n-Pineapple Pizza (3 slices); Root Beer Float
WORKOUT: None

OH dear! You do eat a lot of fiber. I know when I up my carbs a little that helps 'flush things out' so to speak. Did they recommend you take a laxative?

I hope you feel better!

Amy, I'm so sorry you were at the hospital yesterday. What a horrible way to spend a day off. I'm glad it wasn't anything serious but it sure sounds painful. I hope you get back to your normal, healthy self soon.

By the way, Congrats on reaching your exercise challenge!!!!!! :banana: :cheer2: :woohoo: :Pinkbounc

Oh Amy,

I am so sorry to hear that you are not feeling well.....don't rush yourself. Take care and you will be back at your 135 or lower in no time.

On a lighter note, congrats on making your exercise goal!!!!

I had a pretty good day yesterday, considering I was home all day and my insides were not happy (with all the "cleansing" medications I had to take...) and TOM decided to show up 5 days early. :confused3 Besides being tired today, I feel normal! I ate 100% BFL but no work out (I couldn't be away from the bathroom for more than 10 minutes :sad2: ). I managed to drink 100oz of water, 24oz of Cranberry Juice (Light); a DC (I felt like I could :boat: ):

7:40am: Egg Beaters; Oatmeal
10:00am: FF Yogurt; Kashi Crunch
12:30pm: Tilapia; Brown Rice; Zucchini
3:30pm: FF Cottage Cheese; Apple w/Cinnamon
6:30pm: Meatloaf; Baked Red Potato w/Butter Buds; Broccoli; Hershey Kiss
8:30pm: FF Cottage Cheese; FF Yogurt
WORKOUT: None
RESISTED: Nothing really, too crampy to snack

Jane, Allison, Beth and Jamie, thanks so much for the well wishes! :grouphug:

Hi Amy,

I hope you are starting to feel better today. Glad to hear that yesterday was good all things considered!

Take it easy and rest. You'll be back to your old self soon!

Happy Tuesday!

Think on the bright side - you just might hit 134 this week with all of the cleansing meds you're taking! Take it easy & get feeling better!

I can’t wait to get back into my workout routine! I had to work through lunch and didn’t get my walk in – the first work day this year I missed it… :guilty: I signed up for 1500 minutes in Feb, which will be tough since it is a shorter month and I have a couple Dr appointments thrown in the mix. I will be going to the gym today, tomorrow and Sat and plan on doing workout DVDs on Fri and Sun. That should get me off to a good start! :thumbsup2 Weight this morning was 136. I am finally getting rid of the water and junk that has been ruining my life this past week… Yesterday I drank 100oz of water, 2 cups of green tea, 8oz of Light Cranberry Juice, a Minute Maid Light and a DC:

6:15am: Egg beaters w/pinch of cheddar; Oatmeal
8:45am: Kashi GoLean Roll
12:00pm: Ground Turkey; Wheat Tortilla; Zucchini
2:30pm: FF Cottage Cheese; Apple
6:30pm: Crockpot Stroganoff (1c total – beef tips, cream of mush, cream of celery, onion soup mix); Wheat Noodles (1/2c); Hershey’s Kisses (4) :confused3
8:30pm: FF Cottage Cheese; FF Yogurt; Fortune Cookie
WORKOUT: None
RESISTED: Candy dish in Security Office while getting my new badge (they had mini Twix!)

Jamie and Jane, thanks! I am back to 100%. I am glad January is over. I am really going to kick up the workouts this month since I only have 5 more weeks until my cruise! :banana:

Glad to see that you're feeling better. :wave: Congrats on doing another workout challenge. You're going to be very busy this month!

HI there!!!

Glad to hear that you are back to normal!!! You are going to have a busy month ahead you...1500 minutes - WOW! I know you can do it though!

Keep up the great work!!!

I was back to 135 this morning! :woohoo: I finally behaved myself yesterday (as in no Hershey Kisses or fortune cookies). There are only 3 Kisses left, I am going to eat them on Sunday and be done with them. They were from DD’s Christmas stocking. My kids just aren’t big candy eaters, which is a good thing. I got to the gym and I did my cardio BFL style. That is TOUGH! :scared: Today when I go I will be doing the treadmill BFL style. I am anticipating a near-death experience… :faint: I drank 100oz of water; 2 cups green tea; 8oz of Light Cranberry Juice (I really hate this stuff!); a DC:

6:15am: Egg beaters w/pinch of cheddar; Oatmeal
8:30am: Zone Bar
11:45am: Turkey Medallions-n-Mustard on Wheat; Broccoli
2:40pm: FF Cottage Cheese; Apple
6:30pm: Chicken; Sweet Potato w/Cinnamon & Butter Buds; Green Beans; 1 SF Crème Saver
8:30pm: FF Cottage Cheese; FF Yogurt
WORKOUT: Walking (40min); Weights (25min); Elliptical (30min)
RESISTED: Hershey Kisses, Tootsie Rolls – we had a meeting in my boss’s office and I was eyeballing the jar the whole time…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jane, can you believe we are halfway through Week #5? I will be busy this month, but I am determined to get under 130 for my cruise. ::yes:: Now if I could just talk my body into cooperating... :scratchin
Jamie, thanks! Sometimes the Exercise Challenge is the only reason I make it to the gym. I hate not meeting goals! :blush:
I know how you feel about goals. The excercise challenge really keeps me going as well. For some reason I feel like I am disappointing everyone if I don't reach what I said I could reach. At least it keeps me motivated-I'm going for 1500 minutes too we can do this!
Great job on the 135!!!! It looks like your back on track with your workouts & eating. I know what you mean about making it to week 5. The time has flown by.
