AmyT's Journal (Comments Definitely Welcome!)

I had another not-so-perfect BFL dinner last night. I am trying to keep those to a minimum. It wasn’t too bad I guess (ground turkey, salsa, about ½ cup total of cheese and LF crescent roll crust). I WILL stick to my plan this evening (no pizza or alcohol). :cheer2: I know everyone will harass me but I am just going to stick to my guns and tell them that I want to be in the best shape possible for my cruise. I’ve really become accustomed to the 8:30pm snack. It is my favorite snack of the day! I can’t believe Week #3 is almost over. I am so proud of myself for sticking to it for this long, even though I had the “I wanna give up” attitude a couple days ago.

I am taking my friend to Chili’s for her b-day on Sunday and I have been craving their boneless buffalo wings. I checked out their website and it has all the nutritional information. YIKES! :eek: It is 1250 calories for an order of wings!!! I don’t care if it is my free day, now that I am informed there is no way I can eat those! I am going to have to stick with a more sensible choice, which is sad, but I need to think bikini! :teeth: Yesterday I drank 100oz of water, 2 cups green tea, a DC:

6:15am: Egg Beaters (w/a pinch of cheddar); Oatmeal
8:45am: Balance Bar
11:45pm: Chicken (3oz); Wheat Noodles (1/2c); Carrots (10 baby)
2:40pm: Apple; FF Cottage Cheese (1/2c)
6:30pm: Turkey Fiesta Pie (1/8 of 9” pie); Cauliflower (1c); 1 bite of DH's ice cream
8:30pm: FF Cottage Cheese (1/2c); FF Yogurt
WORKOUT: Walking (40min); Weights (30min); Elliptical (30min)
RESISTED: Those chocolate chip cookies from the neighbor – somebody better eat them before I snap!

Allison, I can wear my bikini now, I just wished I looked a little better in it... I have not done any specific BFL workouts because with my hectic schedule I go to the gym whenever I can and I wouldn't be able to commit to the BFL routine with any consistency...

Beth, I am going to have to try some of those recipes! Maybe this weekend I will print some out and make some next week. It's good to know they are pretty good!

Jane, DH better eat those cookies today. There are 4 left and it is KILLING me!!! No one ate one last night, so I didn't get to have a bite. :guilty:

Amy, we're back to the weekend again! Only one more day this week. :Pinkbounc Have a great time tonight & on Sunday at Chili's. We've been invited to a relatives for lunch on Sunday. Like you, I don't want to do major damage with one meal. Congrats on another day of resisting the chocolate chip cookies!

Just stopping in to say hi, and keep up the good work. :sunny:

Have a good weekend, and try not to be discouraged. It is easy to do sometimes, I know, but look how well you've done overall!

I know for me when I plan my day, and think I'll get to the gym, then things get changed for me (which happens often with 4 kids!) then maybe I mess up and DON't resist a cookie or whatever, its easy to say what the heck, I can't do this.....

But you CAN do it, and you've done great, and you're encouraging others!
:cheer2:

Yay for me!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: I stuck to my plan last night! No cocktails! :banana: And boy was I teased... We didn't order pizza, but there were chips and pretzels. I ate cottage cheese and yogurt before we went and took a Balance Bar and a DC with me. I did have 10 small pretzels (and not all of them were whole) but that's it! I weighed 135 this morning, which is really surprising because I felt a lot lighter. Later today I am going to the gym and I'm going to attempt to get my DL and bank accounts changed to my new name. That ought to be fun! :rolleyes: I am also going to get on FitDay and have a plan for my free day tomorrow. I am going to stay under 2000 calories, schedule in some treats and stick to my choices! I only got in 80oz of water yesterday, plus 2 cups of green tea and 2 DC:

6:10am: Egg Beaters; Oatmeal
8:45am: Balance Bar
11:45am: Chicken; Wheat Noodles; Cauliflower
2:30pm: Egg Whites (4): Apple
5:00pm: FF Cottage Cheese; FF Yogurt; Almonds (10)
9:30pm: Pretzels (10); Balance Bar
WORKOUT: Walking (40min)
RESISTED: Cocktails; Cookies (DH finally ate them, so no more temptation!); Chips

Jane, Week #3 is almost over! I am happy because I have lost 4 lbs in 3 weeks and my goal was to lose 1-2lbs per week. My next hurdle is to enjoy my free day within reason, and I hope using FitDay will help me do that. :goodvibes

Kate, thanks so much for your encouragement! I really need it this week. I got out of my funk and now I am back to being fired up to kick those last 10lbs to the curb! :wave2:

party: You're going to make it!!! Congrats on sticking with your plans for Friday night. Its great to be winding down another week.

Another successful BFL day! And as a reward I woke up at 134 today! :yay: :woohoo: :thumbsup2 :cool1: That right there is motivation to behave on my free day! My friend said she wants to go to Cold Stone Creamery after Chilis. :eek: I already picked what I am going to eat (Guiltless Chicken Pita - 550 cal) and I will get the smallest possible ice cream at Cold Stone. I guess the one good thing about all of this is that most of my calories will be consumed in the middle of the day and I can taper off towards evening. Yesterday I got in 100oz of water, and a DC. Once DH gets up and around we are going to Starbucks to get my beloved grande NF chai latte :cloud9: :

7:15am: Egg Beaters; Oatmeal
10:30am: Balance Bar
2:15pm: Egg Salad Sandwich (1 egg + 3 whites, 1tbsp FF mayo, mustard); Carrots (10 baby)
4:30pm: FF Cottage Cheese; Apple w/Cinnamon
6:40pm: Salmon; Sweet Potato (1/2); Peas-n-Carrots; Creme Saver (2)
9:10pm: FF Cottage Cheese; FF Yogurt
WORKOUT: Weights (30min); Treadmill (30min)
RESISTED: Hershey's kisses

Jane, we made it to Free Day #3!!!! I am so happy my scale is back to moving in the right direction, I WILL NOT blow it today!!!!! :cheer2:

Great plan for tonight. That Stone Cold Creamery is a big temptation. I used to take ds there once a week & I found that I liked the plain ice cream better than the mix ins.

We've finished another week! Congrats!

/
Good job! and enjoy your free day. Coldstone Creamery - yum. DS was going to apply for a job there - I hoped he wouldn't bring home samples!! :lmao:

You're doing great! :sunny:

I did pretty good! I just put all my stuff on FitDay and it came out to 2009 calories. My goal was to be under 2000, so I was close! ;) I was actually surprised it was that high, I didn't think I ate that much, so I guess what I did eat was very high in calories... I did great at Cold Stone - I got a small FF Sweet Cream with blueberries. Oh how I wanted a Cheesecake with graham crust, but I resisted! :thumbsup2 The scale was back up to 135 this morning, but I am not worried about it! I bet it will be back down to 134 by Wednesday's weigh-in!!! :cheer2: Yesterday I drank 80oz of water, 24oz of iced tea, a NF grande chai latte and a Fresca:

7:45am: Kashi Crunch (3/4c); FF Yogurt
11:00am: FF Cottage Cheese (1/2c); Creme Savers (3)
3:00pm: Chili's Guiltless Grill Chicken Pita w/Veggies; FF ice cream w/blueberries (small)
6:40pm: Pretzel sticks (20) w/peanut butter (2 tbsp)
8:30pm: Honey Nut Cheerios (1.5c) w/Skim Milk
WORKOUT: None
RESISTED: Nothing!

Jane, here's to a successful Week #4!!!! :cheer2:

Kate, my brother used to work at the mall when he was in high school and of course he flirted with all the little hotties that worked at Cinnabon and he ALWAYS brought home free boxes of cinnamon rolls. I'm glad I was away at college and didn't have to deal with that on a full-time basis... :blush:

We have 3 full weeks of workouts & right eating behind us. Great job at the Cold Stone Creamery. There are too many temptations in that place. Once you walk in its hard to stick with fat free ice cream and fruit! Here's to 134 by Wednesday!

Good job at Coldstone! You are doing a fabulous job!!!!

Keep up the great work.

I was not able to get to the gym yesterday, I was SO exhausted! I did get in my lunchtime walk (it about killed me) but I barely made it to my car after work and I could not even fathom lifting weights or jumping on the elliptical. I took a 1 hour nap and went to bed at 8pm and had a really tough time getting up this morning. My throat has hurt for 2 days, so I think I am fighting something off. I usually don’t work out on Tuesdays, so hopefully by tomorrow my body will have recovered. Eating was very good. I think my portions at dinner have been slowly getting larger. I need to get those back down to “palm of hand” size. I wish BFL would just give you a measurement instead of leaving it so subjective! I did well yesterday with portion control and I drank 100oz of water, 2 cups green tea, a DC:

6:10am: Egg beaters w/pinch of cheddar; Oatmeal
8:45am: Balance Bar
11:45am: Chicken; Wheat Noodles, Peas-n-Carrots
2:45pm: FF Cottage Cheese; Apple
6:30pm: Lemon Pepper Tilapia; Brown Rice; Broccoli
WORKOUT: Walking (40min)
RESISTED: Nothing – too tired to think about snacking!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jane, the scale was at 134 until the very last second and it turned to 135. It did the same thing twice, so I must be at 134.5 or something. I bet tomorrow I will be at a steady 134!!!
Beth, thanks! I am getting way better at making good choices when I am in a social situation... :smokin:
Awesome Job, Amy, on resisting Coldstone. It's SO HARD!!!
Hope you're feeling better.
Get feeling better, Amy. That fatigue you get when fighting a cold or flu is really debilitating sometimes. Just take things easy until you are feeling better.
Don't ya just hate it when your scale does that to you. So close!
I started reading your journal at 11:30am and am finally getting a chance to post because I got so hung up at work. You are really doing well. I know there have been some frustrating times but you are losing at a good rate, even if it doesn't feel like it. You are learning to eat well and you are seeing where it does and doesn't work.
You have given me so much guidance the last month + and I deeply appreciate it. Thanks and have a good night!
Chris
I guess I am destined to have at least one not-so-great BFL dinner per week, and last night was definitely one of those... I kept the portions small, so I think I did OK. The scale still said 135 this morning. :sad2: Things did not go as planned yesterday, I had to work until 5pm and rush home and immediately take DD to tap. I didn’t get my snack, so I grabbed a bar so I wouldn’t be tempted to overeat at dinner… I am still pretty exhausted, though it's not as bad as Monday. I hope whatever it is that is trying to get me goes away soon! I did manage to get my walk in (again, it about did me in) because I have to do at least that much to make my Exercise Goal challenge! I drank 100oz of water, 2 cups green tea, a DC:
6:15am: Egg beaters w/pinch of cheddar; Oatmeal
8:30am: Balance Bar
12:00pm: Chicken; Brown Rice; Carrots; Tootsie Roll (a little treat to make me feel better)
5:15pm: Balance Bar
6:45pm: LF Sausage, Sauerkraut (in Crockpot - DS9’s request)
8:30pm: FF Cottage Cheese; FF Yogurt
WORKOUT: Walking (40min)
RESISTED: More Tootsie Rolls
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jane, I just hate my scale! I bet it will go back down to 134 tomorrow, so I miss my official weigh-in. Stupid scale! :badpc: (picture my scale instead of the computer)

Julie, thanks for stopping by! I need all the help I can get... :rolleyes:

Chris, nice to see you in my journal again! I am glad to help support you on your long journey! :goodvibes

Amy, don't be so darned dogmatic. When the scale reads 134 TAKE IT!!! You deserve it after all the workouts, food planning & treat resisting you've done this month.

Yesterday was NOT good - I had another 2 Balance Bar day (this one was planned). I don’t want to get into a habit of that, but I’d rather eat a bar than skip a meal because I’m too busy or on the run. I don’t know what my problem was, but my candy consumption was out of control! :sad: I ate 2 Tootsie Roll midgies before I left for the Dr, a butterscotch at the Dr, and when I got home I ate a Hershey Kiss and a small handful of mini M&M’s. :confused3 I was still at 135 this morning, so no major damage done, but I felt really bad and have vowed to make the next 3 days 100% BFL days! I got my DL changed!!!! :thumbsup2 I also got all my bank info changed, so things are finally moving along (2 months after getting married). Still didn’t make it to the gym, but I finally have some energy back and am planning to go today after work. Yesterday I drank 100oz of water, 2 cups of green tea, a DC:

6:15am: Egg beaters w/pinch of cheddar; Oatmeal
8:30am: Balance Bar
11:45am: Chicken; Brown Rice, Carrots
3:00pm: Balance Bar; Tootsie Rolls; Butterscotch
6:30pm: Pork Chop (2oz); Cheesy Potatoes; Cauliflower; Hershey Kiss, M&M’s
8:30pm: FF Cottage Cheese
WORKOUT: Walking (40min)
RESISTED: Obviously nothing, I need to work on this!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jane, you are right. WHENever I get down to 134, I will claim it! I guess I'll just post my weight daily, which I pretty much have been... I definitely snapped in the treat resisting department last night, but I didn't eat my yogurt to try to counteract the evil effects of the chocolate... :rolleyes2
I'm so glad you FINALLY got that dl changed. Don't you hate having that stuff hanging over you?! The red tape makes things twice as difficult as they should be.
Talk about chocolate. I went to the bank yesterday and they had those fundraiser candybars. They are so good. I used to buy 2 or 3 each week. I was fussin' at one of the tellers about it & she told me "its for a good cause, Jane!" So I bought one from the teller who was waiting on me & threw it over to her a few lanes down & told her "then you eat it!" Then we all started laughing. It was just in time for her 3pm break. I don't think they realize how serious I am about chocolate! I hate the thought of going in there each week with all of that chocolate on display. That was one of the reasons I gained all of this weight in the first place. :scared1:
I was right on track yesterday. No more candy attacks. I did eat some almonds, which I probably could have done without, but I didn’t have any cheese on my burrito! I got to the gym even though I am still congested and didn’t really feel 100%. I want to get that scale moving again. This morning I was still 135. I am trying to think of something I am dying to have on my free day and I really can’t think of anything. Plus we don’t have any plans (except some long-overdue cleaning), so that should make it easy to behave. Yesterday I drank 120oz of water, a DC:
6:15am: Egg beaters w/pinch of cheddar; Oatmeal
9:45am: Balance Bar
12:00pm: Turkey Medallion Sandwich (on wheat); Cauliflower
2:30pm: FF Cottage Cheese; Apple
6:30pm: Ground Turkey (1/2c); Wheat Tortilla; Carrots; Almonds (20)
8:30pm: FF Cottage Cheese; FF Yogurt
WORKOUT: Walking (35min); Weights (25min); Elliptical (25min)
RESISTED: Mini Cupcakes at work
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jane, that is so funny that you threw the chocolate to the teller! I was trying to avoid the Girl Scout cookies, and DH told me he ordered 3 boxes! Oh well, I will have to eat them on my free days!! :goodvibes
