Amy's Journal: Comments Welcome!

Amy - Congrats on the long walks! you can burn 500-600 calories in a walk that long and that may be why you are feeling hungry. I know I am when I'm done with my workouts.

I'm impressed that you can go to the movie and limit your popcorn, movie popcorn is one of my downfalls, so I rarely go to the movies anymore.

You've been doing great with the changes going on in your life. I haven't been reading your journal from the beginning, but taking your step-dad's dating without reaching for food is progress and I'm proud of you!

Way to go on the 15 lb clippie - you deserve it and are going to be changing it to 20 lbs in no time.

Hope you are having a great weekend!
Diane

Hi Amy
your doing a great job with the walking :)
The movie sounded good - another one on my 'to do ' list :)

Yes Ladies a SMALL cookie dough billzard has 720 calories and 28 grams of fat. A LARGE (omg get ready) has 1320 calories and 52 Grams of fat! That one has 30.5 WW points. Really makes you think twice I must say. A small strawberry sundae has 5.5 points. And again, I am 99% there is another size of blizzard which is a very small kiddie size. But even that one must have over 10 points. I am so glad I looked before I did that one again!

I ate two small pieces of pizza last night to round out the days points. I just held myself to two since that was all the points I had left to eat. I drank all my water yesterday so that was good.

Today I plan to go to the rec center, do some packing for WDW, some laundry and then go to church. I have my chicken breasts marinating for dinner later. Hopefully I can really stick to points today.

Tomorrow we might take the kids to see Nim's Island. Frankly, I would rather go see Owen Wilson showering on the Santa Monica Beach again, but dd really wants to see that one! Maybe I'll just sneak into the theater playing the Owen flick and enjoy! Eye candy has zero WW points!!! :lmao:

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. It is actually going to hit 60 here today and I am thankful for that!

Diane: If I am burning that many calories, no wonder I have been hungry! Thanks for the support!

Tracey:The movie is pretty dumb and totally geared to teen boys but I had fun, give it a try!

Amy: Miss Daisy is wonderful. She is so sweet, I can't believe how low key she is. Shelby had a major bout of disgusting illness in ds' room last night. Guess who got to clean that one up? I hope Daisy doesn't catch whatever this thing is her sister has. Shelby did get jealous when we got Daisy but she loves her now. Beagles tend to do very well with that, they are such loveable dogs, they love dog and human additions to the family. I have no doubt that once Shelby is gone (not for quite a few years I hope) we will get another puppy, and this time it will be another beagle! I really need to post a pic of Miss Daisy.

Pearlieq: I almost had a heart attack with that blizzard point total. I used to get the large quite often (used to live way too close to a DQ) and that is probably accountable for at least a few of my extra pounds!

Tracy: All I can say is that next time you go to DQ, get a sundae! Your waist will thank you!;)

Here is our Christmas card picture with a picture of both dogs too! Shelby is the weird looking one, Daisy is the Beagle!

Eye candy has zero WW points!!! :lmao:

:lmao: Too funny, Amy! Where is the tag fairy when you need her? :tinker: Who knew Owen Wilson was not only good for the eyes, but for the waistline as well?:lmao:

That's a great picture of your kids and your furbabies, Amy!:goodvibes

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Amy, Checking in on you!! :) Hope you are having a good day! How's the packing going? When do you leave??

Great job sticking to your points! I know that with the mentality you are in now, you should have no problem with sticking to the plan this weekend. :thumbsup2 You are so lucky to be going to WDW soon!

LOVE the Christmas card photo!! Daisy has so much brown in her! Buckley has more black and he has a white snout with brown freckles (which is why I picked him, he was the only one with freckles!).

Have a great weekend!

Amy - what a happy family! Your kids look great in the pictures. How do you like having a beagle? I had a cockapoo for 14 years and he passed away about 18 months ago and I'm finally getting ready for a new dog and I'm thinking of a beagle. How's their behavior?

You've cured me of the Dairy Queen cravings for good I think. I never knew those blizzards had that many calories or fat in them! Yikes!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: If I ever get the DQ craving again, a small cone will do it for me. Thanks for sharing this information!

Hope you are having a great weekend.

Good morning Wish Friends!

I survived Saturday pretty well. I took dd to the rec center and walked for an hour so that was good. I did great on food all day but then came home from church starving and ended up having chips and beer for dinner:sad2: . I stayed within points but not the best choice. I had gotten in all of my veggies, milk and protein earlier so that was good. I did consciously weigh my Doritos out and count the points! I think I got a bit upset since I ran into my nuthead sister. Long story short, her synagogue shares space with my church. This has been going on since January and I have dealt with the situation by avoiding church altogether. A couple of times dh took the kids without me. Enough of that, so I went. Of course she was there looking for me, I just said hi, gave her a half hearted hug and said "well, gotta go". There have to be about a thousand or more churches in the metro area and as luck would have it, we share one building! You can run, but you can't hide. And so amazing give that she lives 65 miles away that this would happen. Gee, arent' I lucky? When July gets here, our church will be in its new location and I won't have to run into her every Saturday night. I am amazed at how clueless she is. If she had a brain in her head she would clear out of there or avoid me. But then of course she loves to confront, annoy and stir up the pot of life and basically never has any idea that people often avoid her like the plague.

Today we are seeing a movie and having lunch out. I have researched the On the Border choices on Dottie's site and have my meal planned out. I told dh I cannot even look at the menu!

I am happy to say my jeans fit much nicer now, I dont' have to even suck in. In January I couldn't get these jeans on at all. So that is something to be happy about I must say.

Diane: I have had beagles my whole life. They are very sweet, very loyal but a bit stubborn! Daisy is far and above the sweetest I have had. I think she came along to help me through this whole process of losing my mom. And my mom helped me pick her out so that makes her doubly special. I love them and think you would love having one!

Amy: Daisy is very brown. Benjamin was almost all black and white too. I love the freckled beagles, Benjamin had those too and I called them his naughty nose spots! Daisy has freckles on her two front legs and none on her nose. Given Benjamin's cantankerous attitude maybe those really were his naughty nose spots!

Stacy: I am packing today, we leave in 10 days!

Pearlieq: Thank you, I sort of like them too!

Tracy: I get more Owen Wilson Zero Point candy today, we are seeing Drillbit Taylor! Dh picked this one, he said he is tired of seeing kids movies and wants something funny. So we can haul dd off to see this rather inappopriate movie that she will no doubt enjoy!:scared1:

Afternoon: Went to on the Border for Lunch and did well. Here is my food for the day:

Breakfast: skipped since I slept in and had an early lunch
Lunch: Chicken taco (5.5) side salad w/ small amount of ranch and salsa: (5) chips (4)
Snack: very small amount of popcorn and 10 Reeses Pieces: (5) thats a guestimate but probably close
Total so far: 19.5, have about ten points left.

Dinner was: Salmon with rice: 6
Snack: small bowl of cereal: 3
Total for the day: 28.5

Only got in three veggies today, not enough but better than nothing. Also only got in one half cup of milk. I did manage to get in about 80 oz of water. So I made it through a weekend without a major mishap. Given that I ate out once and saw two movies that is not half bad.

awww Amy the dogs are soo cute...the kids are too :)
Thats great news you got into your jeans so easily, doesnt suprise me though with all the walking you've been doing :)
As for sis....families eh ;) your doing great dont let her get you down!
Enjoy the movie...again ;)

That's great that you were able to get into those jeans so easily.:thumbsup2 Keep up the good work!

I'm sorry to hear about the run in with your sister. :( I think you handled it very well!

Did you enjoy your eye candy last night? ;)

I hope you have a great day today!

Congrats on the great WW weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:  :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2: And all that dedication to sticking to your workouts and points is paying off with looser jeans, which has got to feel great! :goodvibes

I think you dealt with the run-in with sis in a very good way. Short and sweet, and you both lived to tell about it! :lmao:

I just wanted to pop over and tell you that you have really turned things around for yourself!! You are doing great now!

Can you send some of that willpower my way?

Hi everyone,

I did okay with food today, stayed right on points. But I had a killer headache all day long. I ended up not going to the gym but I did spend the day cleaning and organizing the house. I am still going through my mom's things, I have to do that when I have the will to do so and today was a day. It sort of brings me down and up at the same time if that makes any sense. My headache is better, I sent dh out for a regular coke for me and took that and some advil and laid on the couch and watched tv for three hours tonight. Hopefully its gone.

Breakfast: All Bran w/ walnuts and skim: 3
Snack: whole wheat crackers w/ 2% cheese: 4
Lunch: Lean Cuisine with extra veggies 5
Snack: V8 Fusion and Cheese Nips (6) Cheese Nips had four points why I ate those I do not know. Oh well.
Dinner: Bean Burrito and Coke: 12
Total for the day: 30 Right on the dot.

I got in four veggies and one fruit so that was good. Made my five to stay alive!

I plan to rec center tomorrow. That will put me at four, sixty minute walks this week. I hope to do five next week.

Thanks for reading, I am going to hit the sack, I will catch up with all of you tomorrow!

Karynn: Will power really comes and goes with me. I wish I could bottle it up to take on my "off" days! Watch the Paul McKenna show on TLC (I Can Make You Thin) He has some great tips that have helped me quite a bit.

Amy: Loose jeans are the best kind. I do NOT miss feeling like they are going split open they are so tight!

Tracy: I just tried to let my sister know I love her but also had to love myself and just make it brief. Thats about all I can do anymore

Tracey: Did you give me your headache?? I hope yours is gone now, no fun huh???

P.S. To Everyone: Owen Wilson was just as nice the second time around! He looks like the guy that lived down the street from me growing up that my mother told me "if that guy ever asks you out you can't go". Hence the fascination I have with men that look like that! And he didn't ask me out btw and I probably would have snuck out with him if he had! Probably a bit of luck on that one!

Amy - Congrats on the loose jeans, it is one of the best feelings in the world! It's always that back up to confirm that even if the scale isn't telling you what you want it to, your body is. Listen to that body - you've earned it!

Sounds like you had a great weekend and are really working within your point range and enjoying it. Even when you don't think you made the best choice, you still stayed in the point range and didn't go overboard. That is worth gold stars in my book.

Hope you have a great week!

You're doing fantastic!!! You've been eating so well--making good choices, staying in balance, and thinking about what you're doing.

I'm so sorry to hear about the headache. That stinks. I hope it's all the way gone this morning. I can definitley understand how going through your mom's things is bittersweet. Letting go can be very sad and very cleansing at the same time.

Have you tried the All Bran crackers yet? I've seen you eat crackers a few times and I keep meaning to mention them. They have them at my grocery store and they're really, really tasty. Nothing with that much fiber should taste that good! :rotfl: I especially like the garlic & herb ones.

I'm sorry to hear about the turmoil with your sister. Sounds like July can't get here fast enough! It sounds like your instincts for self-preservation are strong and that you listen to them. I think you're doing great handling a tough situation.

I hope you have a great day today! Enjoy your walk at the rec center!

You're doing a great job, Amy! I hope your headache has gone away and that you are feeling better already.:wizard:

Have a great Tuesday!:cool1:

Amy, congrats on continuing to do so well with your eating!! i am so proud of you!! Except the cheese nips -- those gotta go, for 4 points for only 6 crackers?!! you can eat something much tastier.. LOL ;) Have you tried those lil' mini 100 calorie packs of Hostess cupcakes? I think the choco. ones are only 1 point for 3 mini cupcakes, and the vanilla are 2 points!! Plus i think they both have like 3 gr. of fiber in each pack! So, that might be a good choice to try!!

Stacy, the cheese nips were one of those individual packs, I buy them for dd's lunch sometimes as a treat and of course I had to eat one myself! The six referred to the points I had with those and the V8 Fusion. If it was only six cheese nips that would have been a bigger bummer than the 17 point Blizzard! It was still a waste of points though. Another lesson learned.

I have to do one last unpleasant thing in regards to my mom today. Stepdad and I have an appt. at the funeral home to pick out an urn for my mom's ashes at long last. We didn't do this initally because we had so much to think about and the funeral director said most people do that later so we thought, yeah, let's put that off. Well the time has come and the thought of going back to the place where her funeral is just makes me ill. I have been dreading this for days and now its here and I'll be glad when its over. In any case, the urge to eat all day has been intense and I have just stayed upstairs organizing the kids closets and away from the kitchen! If I can get through this day without a major food cave in I'll be quite surprised. I have had this looming for some time now and once this is behind me I'll probably be surprised at how relieved I am. I know stepdad is feeling the same way. I also guess I'll ask him how his date went, I think he is hurt I haven't asked yet. How weird is this? Lets go finish the final arrangements and oh how's the new girlfriend? Gotta love the whole family thing! Whatever happened to Sunday dinners and a simple phone call to see how my parents are getting on? I miss those days let me tell you...

Headache is gone! I think it was stress maybe.

I weigh in tomorrow, not sure what the scale will say, its hard to predict! As long as I stay on track today I have stayed on points and not even eaten all my flex points. I plan to work out after school and once this appointment at the mortuary is over. I think I will feel a whole lot better.

I still need to get to journals, sorry I haven't caught up with all of you yet.
