Amy's Journal: Comments Welcome!

I survived my dinner party very well last night. I think eating that yogurt right before I left home for church helped. I also saw a friend at church that asked if I had lost weight so that gave me some happy feelings that made me realized feeling like that is better than any feeling I can get from overeating. Anyway, arrived at our friends, the dinner part of the party was over as it had been going for a couple of hours but they had saved us some food. I basically ate probably the equivlaent to one piece of bread (she had it cut in chunks for fondue) and only dipped a couple of bites in the cheese. I also had two rum and diet cokes, one chocolate dipped strawberry and a couple of these cream puff bites (didn't dip those in the chocolate). Then I switched to water and stayed in the family room away from the chocolate pots.

Food today:
Breakfast: slept through it!
Lunch: On the Border (again). That place even with the chips they serve is working for me right now so I picked that restaurant again. Did the same chicken taco/side salad combo as last week. I did have a small side of guac (maybe 2 TB's that came with dh's meal (he doesn't eat guac crazy guy that he is) and I did have some chips but not too many. I also had a couple of bites of ds' enchilada that I didn't need but it was tasty I must say.

Dinner: will likely be something light, maybe some soup, cereal, or yogurt. I am really still quite full from lunch and its almost 4:00 at this point. Got in about three veggies today, no fruit. If I have soup that will add two more veggies.

Took the day off from walking and intend to spend the evening packing whil dh works. I cannot believe our trip is this close.

Tracy, you asked so here are our WDW plans:

Thursday, April 17: Sleep in due to a late flight, spend some time at the pool and then head to the MK. We have a dinner ADR at Crystal Palace. I actually tend to do pretty well at the buffets, I stick to the salad and fruit and will probably have a piece of fish or chicken (last time I ate there they had salmon). Then I will have some desserts, they always have nice small servings so I can maybe sample a couple of things. Its EMH at MK that night until 2:00 a.m. Due to a short trip and grad nights, this is our one and only night at MK.

Friday: Sleep in since we will have been up so late with EMH. Light breakfast at ASMU, then head to Epcot for a couple of hours, I really want to ride Spaceship Earth since it was closed last trip. Then we will take the boat from Epcot over to Studios, we have an early dinner at Sci Fi. Dh has to go here every trip and I actually like the atmosphere. We will probably share a burger (we always seem to do that). Then we can do some rides or whatever until we see Fantasmic at 10:00, I will probably have to have my usual soft pretzel at Fantasmic!

Saturday: Blizzard Beach all day. I need to research what is available here. If there doesn't appear to be anything, I may get a grab no go turkey sandwich at the Music food court. After doing this all day, we can head back to the resort to rest and we have Hoop Dee Doo Review that night for the late show (as in 9:30). Dd and ds have always wanted to see this show. They think it will be sort of like the Bill Hill show at Disneyland. Dh heard the phrase: "all you can drink beer" and jumped right on that bandwagon. This will likely be my worst diet disaster of the trip. All you can eat fried chicken, ribs and strawberry shortcake, very late at night when I am probably starved. I am just not going to worry about it. I am actually not much on fried chicken (except my mom's) or ribs but even in small quantities that's not too diet friendly. But again, I just want to enjoy the show and have fun. This thing was so freakishly expensive I cannot even believe it. Booked the late show because we could get a Disney Dining Experience 20% discount. This is going to be my free for all meal for the trip.

Sunday: Animal Kingdom during the day then back to the resort to just swim and relax. Will probably head to Flame Tree BBQ for lunch for their smoked turkey sandwich which is pretty healthy. I can also hit the fruit carts, thats what dd always wants at AK since its always so hot there.

Monday: Our friends are going to be at WDW so we are meeting up with them and spend the day and evening together. So that should be fun. No meals planned, just want to do cs. I'll probably have the place in Japan which isn't too bad.

Tuesday: Come home really early, can't wait for that flight. We have to leave the resort at 5:00 a.m. :scared1: Whch is 3:00 a.m. our time.:sad2:

As for cocktails, I plan to have one fun pool bar drink, one drink at Epcot and maybe one beer at the Hoop Dee Doo Review. I am only going to allow myself those three. Drinks kill my ability to not eat like a pig.

Tracey: The pool drink is for you Wish Sis!

Amy: I used to have a real problem with peanut butter. Somehow I don't anymore, no idea why. I have a 1.5 TB measuring spoon and I just sort of eat it slow and enjoy it. If I have chocolate chips in the house, I tend to have about 10 of these spoonfuls decorated with choc. chips. Which is why I don't ever let choc chips in my house!

Pearlie: I am giddy with excitement at last. I really haven't been, I think I got so bummed about the surprise that suddenly wasn't, and also just still being in that sad spot in my life due to my mom's passing. But now that its so close, I can't help but be excited!

Stacy: I am totally excited, your trip is getting really close too!

Beth: I am bound and determined to not lose my momentum. I have worked too hard to get to this point, I think I can do it.

I wish I was going on this trip! sounds like a great time. Keep in mind that when you order you can ask for food the way you want it. I always asked to substitute the french fries for fresh fruit or carrots. This helps with the calories and you can save the bags of carrots for snacks.

More importantly, go and enjoy the vacation with your family, you deserve it!

Your trip sounds like it is going to be so much fun, Amy!!!:cheer2: I can't wait to hear what you think about the new Spaceship Earth! It was closed when we were there in December. :( I'm also looking forward to hearing about Hoop Dee Doo, Sci Fi, Flame Tree BBQ, and well..... your whole trip!!!!:thumbsup2

You are doing a wonderful job with your food choices! Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

Have a wonderful week ahead!

Hi Amy!! You sound like you got the plan for this trip! LOL I totally have faith that you are going to do great when you are in WDW --
Make sure you take pics and give us a great report when you get back! We will miss you here though!!

Oh, your trip sounds like a blast! And it sounds like it's coming at just the right time to be a nice pick-me-up. Just a couple more days now!

We're also trying HDDR for the first time this trip. I hear you about the cost! I could never quite convince myself to pay it before, but we got the deluxe dining plan this trip, so I can pretend it's not so expensive. I can't wait to hear what you think of it.

I'm sorry about the awkwardness with your stepdad. It's so hard, especially with things being so new. I think you did a great job keeping your head on, looking for the most rational/reasonable explanation for things, and keeping your hands to yourself. ;)

You've been making such great choices lately, both with your food and exercise. Good for you! You've worked hard and made real, honest progress. I'm glad you're enjoying the feeling!

Have a great day today! Enjoy your packing!!!

Hi WISH Sis,

Your trip sounds amazing. Just the right amount of fun and relaxation. Your meal plans sound solid. I know that you aren't going to lose that momentum. I caught mine from you, and I'll be here when you get back.;)

Take care of yourself, I know how busy everyting is trying to get ready for a trip.

Hi AMy,

HI Amy! Sorry it's been so long since I checked in! It sounds like you guys are going to have a wonderful trip!!! I'm so excited for you! I think you'll do fine. You've got it all planned out!

I hope you guys have the best trip! You totally deserve it!

Stacie

I am sorry I wasn't on the boards at all yesterday, my computer was down all day. Dh finally called our carrier and it seems fine now. Really frustrating to not be able to disboard and I also couldn't get online to pay bills, answer emails and it was driving me crazy!

I have been sort of puny the last couple of days. I was all set to walk but then just didn't have the energy so I went to bed early (this was last night). I really hope I am not coming down with something. I think its partly my allergies which are horrible right now. Dd is also feeling like me, hopefully Florida will perk us up!

My food has been fine but I haven't gotten a walk in since the one on Saturday. So thats been a bummer. I have been drinking the water and busy with cleaning and packing so that is good. I am going to try to weigh in tomorrow, not sure I can squeeze it in with taking the dogs to the kennel, getting kids to school and a few other things I need to get done. I hope I can go to WW at least to weigh. My scale says I am down a couple of pounds, I'd like to see what their's says! I did get in three walks this week so that at least made my minimum. I have packed my workout clothes and shoes for the trip. I want to get at least one or two good walks in.

So thats about it, I am taking a friend to a movie tonight for her birthday which will be fun although I am so wiped out I may fall asleep! I plan on NO popcorn this time around and she's on some new diet and says she's not eating junk either. If I make it out of there with no food, it'll be a first!

I hope to catch up on journals later this evening, if I don't please forgive! Thanks for all the well wishes and support, I'll see you guys when I get back!

Wishing you a safe, smooth, and joyful trip!

Can't wait to hear all about it! :cool1:

Thanks Pearlie! I'll be missing you and all my other Wish Sisters while I am gone I must say. Dh may have to log in one day to work for a couple of hours so I might check in while I am gone.

I sort of blew it tonight. I got a bit upset today over yet another stepdad issue. I ended up eating a Taco Bell Burrito and a small piece of pizza. I came in a few points over but sitll had plenty of flex points. I am sorry I allowed myself to fall into the old habit of eating away my feelings. But I did catch myself and in spite of still being upset when I walked into the movie I resisted popcorn. Why does that stuff have to smell so good? Bought a 32 oz. bottle of water instead. So I did stop the train wreck, just not as quiickly as I would have liked.

I had an awful allergy attack in the movie. It was 80 here today and very windy. All that dust and pollen got stirred up and I was literally about to die. Came home and closed all the windows and actually turned on the AC and took some Benadryl. I am feeling better but clearly this is going to be a bad season.

I have also decided to maybe skip weigh in and go walk instead. I don't have time for both and feel like weighing in is not as important as walking given my week. I know I lost some and I am trying to concentrate more on health than the number. Of course this all hinges on me getting everything finished up and getting the dogs to the kennel in time to get the kids and head to the airport.

I was really feeling guilty all day for taking the kids out of school. When I planned this trip I was so disgusted with ds' old teacher I didn't really care. Also, the school both kids did go to that now only dd does, is having an inservice day. Ds' new school is not. So he'll miss an extra day. This is definitely the last time I am doing this. I am excited as all get out for the trip but do have to say it was probably dumb to plan this. I mean we are going for two weeks begining Memorial Weekend. I think this is what happens to me lately. I get strung out, missing my mom terribly, then some other stressful thing happens and I just react. Oh well, too late now, might as well enjoy! I also of course just "HAD" to use up those ff miles before they expired! Hey, I'd be criminal not to use those right?

So off we go, I will see you ladies when I get back. You are all in my thoughts and heart, right where good friends belong! You ladies keep up your hard work and I promise when I desire to scarf down a Mickey Bar I will think of my Wish Sisters and think twice (no promises to do anything but think twice gals!)!!

:wave2: :grouphug:

Have a wonderful, happy, restful, healing trip, Amy!

You deserve it!

And as always, 100 years from now, no one will care that your DS missed school, so don't sweat it. Family time is more important than classroom any and every day of the week!

Have a wonderful, magical trip, Amy!!!!!:wizard:

Don't forget the Orange Slush in Epcot!:thumbsup2 I can't wait to try one of those myself!!!:woohoo:

Don't forget the Orange Slush in Epcot!:thumbsup2 I can't wait to try one of those myself!!!:woohoo:

As soon as I saw that Samantha Brown show last Friday I said "gotta get me one of those!"

Thanks Julie, you are right, family time is important. I just am so good at feeling guilty and he missed 8 school days when my mom died. Oh well, too late for regrets now!

Stacy: Thanks, keep up that good work!
