I'm hoping someone can help me. We are going to be traveling with our son, who will just be turning two. We are taking the Amtrak Silver Star to Disney. My question is... do the bathrooms in the reserved coach cars (not the bedrooms/sleeper cars) have a changing table/diaper pulldown table in the bathroom? If not where do you change your toddler, who is not yet potty trained?

Thanks in advance. I am going to post this on the family board and transportation board.

It's been awhile but if I'm remembering correctly, I don't think there are diaper changing tables in the bathrooms. My DD was in diapers on a train trip we took from Philly to Williamsburg, and I think I changed her standing up in the handicapped bathroom, she was over a year old and could stand fine so it wasn't so important to lay her down.

From our experience, in the handicapped restrooms, there is a stainless steel table ledge leading up to the toilet, really quite a big ledge, toilet height, that seems you can change diapers there. The smaller bathroom in the car, is just that, 3x3 with toilet and sink, nothing else.

I appreciate the response. This is very helpful info to have so that we can be prepared.

Thanks Again,
Jennifer

FYI - The bathrooms are not that clean. I would not lay any child on the ledge in the bathrooms, do it at your seat.
Also at some point your feet will "stick" to the floor in the bathrooms due to people "missing the target" while the train is rocking back and forth.
