The new season of ANTM has just started. I'm very excited about this season since it is featuring petite models. I really hope this show helps open the modeling world to shorter models. Let's discuss!

I love ANTM! What do you suppose Ms. J's "thing" will be this year? One year was a bigger and bigger 'fro, big bows, tear off names....


Since I do love ANTM, I wonder why petites warrant a whole season and plus sizes don't? Or male models?

I doubt it will change the fashion industry, but it will make for interesting television. I am also recording it to watch after the kids go to bed. I made the mistake letting my nine year old watch it last season and she spent two weeks "posing".

Dvr-ing will watch later and provide opinions. However, its usually hard for me to warm up to any of the girls until a few weeks go by.

Because they are. Most of the contestants are 5'6" or so.

There's one girl who is 5'3".. most are 5'5"-5'7". I'm 5'0", I can't even imagine how the modeling world classifies me if I'm shorter than petite.

They had to be under 5'7 .

Thought it was funny that most wore flat shoes, thought the judges would tell them to wear heels to look taller.

Interesting bunch that is for sure.

In many catalogs, petites are classified as 4'10" to 5'4" and most designers seem to define it as 5'3" or less. So their shortest model is at the TOP of the height range for a petite and all the rest are taller than a petite. Hmmmm....kind of makes me wonder if they'd have a White girl in America's Next Top Black Model or a woman in America's Next Top Male Model.... What a crock.

Maybe it's actually America's Next Top Petite Amazonian Model.

One has to wonder why Amber dropped out. I'm glad she did. She was crazy!

This is interesting to me because my daughter has tried to get into modeling. Although she is signed with several agents, she rarely gets modeling work. Most of the clients will not consider her because she 5'2". They always tell her that she takes great pictures, but the clothes they get are not right for someone her height.

I find it interesting that they are using shorter girls, but want them to try to look tall. LOL!

They really didn't explain it. They just said that she had to drop out for personal reasons.

I'm sad Amber dropped out, she was a LOON and I would have loved the drama! She had a good look, but her walk was atrocious and her attitude over the top!

I don't like Bianca! She doesn't seem grateful for the opportunity.
