America's Next Top Model - Petite Edition

Lisa went home , the one that was dressed like a clown. She was the girl that replaced Amber.

As a tall girl myself, I'm not loving this new short ANTM, and I don't think these girls are really going to have much of a realistic career in modeling once the show is over.

But it's such a fun show, I'll watch anyway!

I am glad Amber dropped out. She was a little TOO out there.

I love ANTM, but none of the winners has ever had a realistic modeling career after the show anyway, short or tall. I look at the show as entertainment, not a serious modeling competition.

Amber was waaaay too in love with Jesus!! I think she wanted to date him, not worship him... :rotfl2:

I am really glad they didn't keep her just for the entertainment value. There is a difference between being zany and having a problem. That girl appeared to have a very real problem to me. She looked like she was manic.

Didn't see the first one. I set the DVR.

So this is about "petite" models who are 5'6"? That is silly.;)

I am 5' 3", my dd's are 5' & 5'1" and we don't even fit into petite clothes.

I am sure you will find alot of clothes in the petite section to fit someone 5'6".:lmao:

I think there is some confusion with the word petite and Tyra isn't helping clear it up yet. The goal of this cycle seems to be that shorter models can be high fashion, which is totally different from shopping in the petites department.

I thought the same thing. She seemed to be on the verge of tears most of the time, but then she'd turn around deliriously laughing or dancing around.

I wouldn't be surprised if her "personal problems" were really mental problems that forced her to quit the show.

Oh, ok. That seems pretty cruel, really. I can't see a designer wanting someone that short.:confused3

Have they run out of tall, emaciated, fame-seeking sociopaths to torment already?

I think they are just using the word 'petite' because they are smaller than your average model.

I think if anyone in this cycle has any chance at success in the modelling industry, it would be commercial not high fashion. I can't imagine any of these girls on a runway in Paris or Milan.

I do think this is the best crop of girls they've had in a long time as far as a Cover Girl contract goes, though. The majority of them can actually speak properly. :lmao: The Cover Girl commercial shoot may actually be decent this time, and not just some giant train wreck with girls who can't walk and talk at the same time.

I missed last night's show. Does anyone know if they are going to air it again before next week?

I don't like Bianca either. What a witch! Nicole's a little odd, but she's beautiful. I think Laura is probably my favorite.

I agree with Tyra's comment about the girls acting overtly sexy. I guess they just have no idea of how to do a striking pose without coming across as over the top. Of course, some of them are very young.

So true. Kate Moss was termed a petite model because she was a lot shorter. I believe she was 5'6" and was very successful prior to her drug days.

Yes- Kate Moss is just a touch under 5'7", and she is always referred to as such a short girl. To me, 5'7" is pretty tall- I topped out at 5'-not-quite-1". She is still very in demand- her drug problems didn't really harm her modeling career at all. She lost a few endorsement deals when she had those pictures of her doing coke released, but within a month or so, she was re-hired.

Unless they were doing runway or in a group picture, I wouldn't think that height would really matter.
