I thought of this thread tonight. I was innocently looking for something about my parents, who are no longer alive but were married almost sixty years.
They met as teenagers at Salada tea in downtown Toronto. And it just happened to be just around the corner from me, at King & Spadina, for those who know the city. So I used to walk by it all the time, weirdly enough - and took my mom in her last years.
So what the heck does that have to do with this thread?
Well while I was looking something up about the architect I came across this -

It does not say it is American in so many words, but quite the slant that way. So I go in my head "Oh I really thought it was started by a Canadian, I must be mistaken". And left it.
But it was a Canadian as far I can see, so it reminded me of "Buzz that is not an American invention" on this thread. And beyond Buzz how easily words can lead in an entirely different direction..
