Rat Pack is so broad... but if some Sammy Davis, Frank Sinatra or other things get approved it could be interesting. I wouldn't be suprised if Harry Connick Jr is the guest as he sings in the "stylings of the rat pack"

Nice to see you Tigg! I think all of the guest performances this year sounded kind of "off". I'm assuming it has more to do with bad mixing on the part of Idol. (not sure if their tracks and/or the band is off a bit) Anyway, how was that concert that you got to go to?

The concert was awesome. Although, I still didn't get to meet David. I'll be seeing him again in June though, hopefully then!

I think the producers send home who they want every week regardless of the votes, which is why I don't vote anymore.

That theory is being floated again because it would explain why Dial Idol is so completely off with their rankings so far. On the other hand, if proof of this ever leaked, it would probably be the end of the show - the scandal would be that big. The one thing I do know, is that Simon has a huge influence on what the voters do. If he says your performance was the "worst of the night" or "the worst you've ever sung", you better start packing your bags.

I disagree I thnk Danny will have a huge future he is very talented unlike Taylor who could only sing one type of music

" In season 4, one-time front-runner Anwar Robinson got booted to a seventh-place finish after a tepid rendition of Earth Wind and Fire's ''September'' — the same exact number Danny tepidly delivered tonight. I can't fathom why none of the judges pointed out how Danny began his performance with the kind of horrible howl that should be reserved for slamming ones knuckles in a car door, or how Kara came up with the idea that Danny's pitch was right on, tonight and always, or why Paula hooted ''see you in the finals'' when he was done (thereby insinuating Danny outshone Kris Allen!), but all I could think while the bespectacled dude lumbered around my screen was: ''WHY IS THE MAN YELLING AT ME?'' Or we could just watch him and think, "Hey, isn't this just a copycat of the original glam rock, only with more screeching?" :

With the rock/pop genre a half century old now, it's very hard to bring something completely new - especially within the context of a formulaic show like AI, where you're restricted to a fairly bland backup band, to 2 minute performances from a set list that is anything but current, and judges and voters ready to crucify you for the smallest misstep. I mean, just look at next week's theme. Rat Pack? Really?? That's even before my parents time!
Who would you call completely new today? If Lady Gaga and Flo-rida represent the "new", then I'm convinced Adam will put on a far better show than that.

It's all about the music they release after the show. I know I've said it before, but I can't tell you how much I LOVED DC last season but I haaaaate this album and change the station whenever his stuff comes on.

I've said this before as well - and we saw it last night with Thelma Houston. She was the best singer amongst the oldsters, yet after her single hit, that was it for her career - except for the sad disco-revival shows she and KC do. Diana Ross, on the other hand, was not a strong singer at all, yet she had hit after hit. Need I say more about the difference in the two careers?

The only thing I know, is that I'd pay to see Adam perform - even just cover tunes (ie. the Zodiac show, Broadway or a nighclub), whereas I wouldn't leave the house to see any of the other finalists. When I saw KC, I couldn't help thinking - there's Danny in 20 years or less.

thats what I mean about Idol constrictions...the winners are being told what to put on thier albums, so their hands are tied. MOST of the winners first albums have been lame. Adam is a performer who can also sing like heck, where as the others are only singers...so really, to me, him winning is a step back in his career, in a way.

People have to stop thinking this way as it can really hurt a performer if you think you're doing them a favor by not voting for them. As has been posted many times now, 19 Entertainment owns their asses and win or lose they cannot put out an independent album nor can they tour on their own until their contract is over. End of.

I think that the reason Dial Idol has been so off is that kris has a lot of fans who text, while Lil had mostly phone call voters.

I think Chris Daughtry was better off not winning because he would have HATED singing "do I make you proud" (I still think he SHOULD have won though)

I believe what they said on that show was that the votes exceeded the capacity of the phone lines back in Season Two.

There has never been any concrete proof that vote tampering exists and actually Clay didn't even endorse or authorize that show so who knows what is actually true?.

Remember a little bit ago another insider said that votes were fixed and Lil Rounds, Alexis Grace, Danny and Adam would be final four?
