It's all about the music they release after the show. I know I've said it before, but I can't tell you how much I LOVED DC last season but I haaaaate this album and change the station whenever his stuff comes on. If Danny puts out great music, I'd definitely listen to it. Same with Adam and Kris, who I love. If their albums suck, I won't listen to them I already have my favorite bands/performers/entertainers... I watch AI mainly for the entertainment value, so if the people I like or didn't like put out albums I didn't expect, it really wouldn't phase me

I'll agree DC is more fun to look at . However, I do like his new song and his voice is pretty decent IMO.
Daughtry, on the other hand, had a great voice during the competition and afterwards put out good music - even w/o winning the show.

thats what I mean about Idol constrictions...the winners are being told what to put on thier albums, so their hands are tied. MOST of the winners first albums have been lame. Adam is a performer who can also sing like heck, where as the others are only singers...so really, to me, him winning is a step back in his career, in a way.

I've always thought so too. He'd be better off losing because then he'd have to wait for the winner to put out an album first, but at least he'd be able to do more of what he wanted. The only AI albums I love are Kellys... I used to LOVE Clay's but I don't listen to him anymore. I can't wait for Jason and Michael Johns' stuff though!

I know that I am way behind in this thread. I didn't get to watch last night's show. I have it recorded, but I haven't seen it yet. I do know who went home.

I am a huge Adam fan, but I'm not sold that he is going to win this thing. My money is on Gokey.

....now I believe that OPPOSITE will happen - I'm a huge Gokey fan, but he's been kinda 'boring' lately...like he peaked too early....

I know pretty much all of you hated David A's performance last night.. I know he wasn't amazing, but he wasn't horrible either. I agree he had some pitch problems and stuff, but he's sick and has been singing a LOT lately. So obviously it's hard on his voice. But he did pretty dang awesome for that. Better than all of Adam's dreadfully horrendous shrieking and screaming.

By the way, David Osmond has a new single out called 'Last Day' on itunes. Be sure you get it.

Nice to see you Tigg! I think all of the guest performances this year sounded kind of "off". I'm assuming it has more to do with bad mixing on the part of Idol. (not sure if their tracks and/or the band is off a bit) Anyway, how was that concert that you got to go to?

It was Alexis, Brent Keith, Ricky Braddy, Ann Marie, and Kristen McNaramia but it was canceled cause of Idol contracts.

I can't believe someone tried to do an Idol related concert without the approval of Idol (or more importantly to Idol, them getting a cut.) I bet that would have been a popular concert. Sorry it's not happening for you.

I wonder when the contract ends. If Idol was smart, they would support it in some way to make money.

Eventually, they will be able to do it but won't be able to use the word Idol or formerly on AI or anything like that.

I usually lurk on this thread but had to comment after reading the last 10 pages or so.....

Frieda Payne was a hot mess last night....And KC, well he is an example of why people should save their money. Personally, I thought it made disco look even worse than disco is.

Actually, imo, all the Idols sang better than the three "stars" of the past did last night.

And Paula, oy vey! She has been keeping it under wrap for so long this season I swear she is going to snap soon. Last night, esp the dance rehersal with the contestants, I thought she was going to lose it.. I was also waiting for her to jump on Anoop, I think she is hot for him. He is this season's "Corey" in her mind.

I agree and disagree. I agree that Danny will be another Taylor Hicks and for that specific reason I disagree that the producers choose their winner. Simon always disliked Taylor Hicks yet he went on to win.

I think so too. If the producers chose who went home, then Chris Daughtry would not have left as early as he did.

I think Lil and Anoop were the worst ones out of the ones left. I would have sent them home if I had voted.

I hope Adam wins, but you never know. He might be too offbeat to get the majority of votes in the end. I definitely think he is bound for stardom. His Mad World song is the first time I have ever downloaded anything from American Idol. It seems like he gets the most applause, but maybe I am biased.

Some interesting posts since last night.

Someone stated it was unfair because Adam has had years of experience. They have all had years of experience. Everyone of them. It'n not like they took a professional recording artist and a bunch of people who only sung in the shower prior to auditions

Starting to see lots of "Adam will be better off not winning" That seems to come up every year. I stopped buying it last year. Adam has admited watching the show since the beginning. He knows what he's in for if he wins. He wouldn't be there if he didn't want it and I trust him to know what he wants better than anyone else would know what's best for him. And at this point 19 owns him for a good year anyway, whether he wins or not. Might as well get the good publicity of the winner

Anyone hear for sure if they go to two songs next week? They usually do, but with the extra judge and thinking about how tight time was last year for the top 5 (Neil Diamond week) I wonder if they are sticking to one song another week.

19E also did Daughtry and got that very right. I think they'll do just fine with Adam.

Rat Pack is so broad... but if some Sammy Davis, Frank Sinatra or other things get approved it could be interesting. I wouldn't be suprised if Harry Connick Jr is the guest as he sings in the "stylings of the rat pack"
