American Idol Top 9 Idol Chatter and Idle Chatter

Oh yeah...when DC said "not as much as I love you", I about melted. DH was walking through the kitchen and just rolled his eyes at me. He's so accomodating!

As for Lady Gaga...you know it's a sad day when Amy Winehouse looks fairly normal by comparison. WTH was that? I will admit, the beginning was interesting (let's ignore the crazy lame' outfit or the lucite piano filled with bubbles), but she obviously had talent on the ivories and a very cool sound to her voice. But then she stood up and lost me completely. I don't do bizarre for the sake of bizarre. For example, I think Bjork really is insane and Amy W is a troubled troubled soul. Lady Gaga is just a shock artist IMHO.

That DC song is one of my favorites from the album. I listen to it almost daily. DOn't you just wanna snuggle him to death?

My thoughts from last nights show:

It was good to get a glimpse of Jason Castro in the audience but when are we going to get to see him on stage? I felt like they used him as a tease. Take a quick look but you don't get to hear him. I was disappointed but still hoping that we will get a performance before the season is over.

Also disappointed with the group number. I didn't think that the vocals were anywhere close to being strong enough. Don't Stop Believing needs to be sung with strong, soaring vocals. Only Adam could have done that song justice and they gave him such a small part. The whole performance just left me wanting to hear Adam's take on the song.

I didn't get Lady GaGa. The whole thing was just too weird and her voice is so-so. I relistened this morning and think that maybe I could see this as a dance song so that might be why people are willing to pay to listen to her. But it was really just weird.

Did anyone else think that DC sounded like a goat-boy at the beginning of his song? A little too much vibrato? I found it distracting, but then the song got waaay better. Loved it.

Thought it was just me.

Actuaolly, I felt the song was right up DANNY'S alley. He sounded almost like Steve Perry. Loved it (and Adam too). Even my jaded music snob DH loves Adam. Called him "fantastic" last night!

I did have trouble with this on my version of Safari and had to watch it on Firefox.

I read this was filmed March 5th at LAX. My sister flew out of the day before he filmed this and my mom flew out two days after! UGH!

lol, guess what, there were enough people that cared that she made it this far. In the end, Megan held true to herself, which is more than I can say for most people in the world and definitely on Idol.

I liked that she said to bitter middle-aged America, screw you, I'll do what I want. Don't like my tatoos? Don't like the way I dance? Don't like my voice (even though it was one of the most unique ever on Idol)? Well maybe try expanding your horizons instead of judging.

Good for her, won't be watching Idol anymore after this, especially with Allison being in the bottom three. I knew Idol was fixed, just not this fixed. No desire to watch a bunch of white male teeny boppers compete for the top spot, this season is a joke.

Later Megan, and good riddens American audience.
