American Idol Top 9 Idol Chatter and Idle Chatter

It was Dave in the kitchen at a table. On it was a domed platter. He lifts the lid and, in a bed of lettuce is some guy's head. Not severed. And I don't know who the guy was.

I always get misty eyed during the going home packages even if I think the right decision was made. I'll be crying next week when Scott goes home as well.

lol, guess what, there were enough people that cared that she made it this far. In the end, Megan held true to herself, which is more than I can say for most people in the world and definitely on Idol.

I liked that she said to bitter middle-aged America, screw you, I'll do what I want. Don't like my tatoos? Don't like the way I dance? Don't like my voice (even though it was one of the most unique ever on Idol)? Well maybe try expanding your horizons instead of judging.

Good for her, won't be watching Idol anymore after this, especially with Allison being in the bottom three. I knew Idol was fixed, just not this fixed. No desire to watch a bunch of white male teeny boppers compete for the top spot, this season is a joke.

I agree. She knew she was a goner, she was tired of all the critiques, and he was tired of her singing and her attitude. She didn't want it enough. Nor was she good enough.

I haven't watched the show yet (had to watch LOST) but from reading what you said about Megan's behavior, I'm almost positive it was her way of "saluting" Vote For The Worst. They've been behind her for weeks now and make a big deal out of her Caw Caw after Rockin' Robin. In fact, it looked like she was mouthing "Vote for the worst" to the camera behind Ryan's back last night at the closing of the show. Wouldn't be the first time a contestant recognized them on the show. I think a couple of years ago, Chris Sligh did something as well.

I think for the most part, most of the contestants themselves know if they have a shot of making it to the Top 3 or not. (based on what they see in their competitors) She probably knew she wasn't going much further, had been really really sick the last few weeks, missed her son and just didn't give it her all anymore.

I thought this week that the Idol kids all looked kind of exhausted.

My own personal ranking of the remaining singers. BTW, this is not a 'power' poll cuz it is just my own personal preferences and not necessarily who I think is leading the pack.

3. Allison Iraheta
4. Danny Gokey
5. Adam Lambert
6. Anoop Desai
7. Scott McIntyre
8. Lil Rounds

I have been a fan of Matt since he killed Georgia on my Mind during Hollywood Week. I would have loved to visit his piano bar before he went on Idol. That would have been fun.

Eventhough Kris has assumed the lady slayer mantle for the season, he has a wonderfully smooth sound and knows when to dial it back. If he can tackle and slay an uptempo beat (and not strip it down), I think he may assume the number one spot for me.

I have yet to truly dig anything by Danny Gokey but he hasnt produced something I loathed (like Lambert's Ring of Fire). I will give this to Lambert - I do enjoy seeing what he is going to bring to the table. However, I am also glad that I tend to DVR the show so that I can skip over it if it sucks.

Probably the least impressive for me is Lil Rounds and has been from Day one. Ive heard that sound before and ive heard it done ALOT better. She doesn't change ANYTHING and tends to do everything straight up. Which forces me to compare her stuff to the originals which it hardly ever compares. I know that she is going to stick around for a while but she had better step it up.

What she meant was she didn't care about Simon’s critique from the previous night, as that's what the question referred to. Why shouldn't she be honest? It was Simon who put her in the top 13 as a Wildcard and then tore into her every week. Kudos to her for not letting him strip her of her self esteem and confidence. I think Simon is an ego maniac. If anyone dares to question his judgment he'll make sure they pay for it. I was no fan of hers but I don't like to see contestants get treated shabbily on these reality shows.

I'm increasingly impressed with Adam's gentle and down-to-earth personality. Compare his reaction to Gokey's when they heard they were safe. Below is an adorable clip of his house vid cam where he talks about the bidet in the room he shares with Kris. They look very good together!

Not loving Lil. She's boring to me. Scott is interesting, but his song choices are boring.

I find Alison, Adam, Matt and to a lesser extent Danny and Kris interesting.

Anoop can take it or leave it. R & B, I don't think so.
