I just have to defend the Clark Brothers, as many here and on the other thread seemed to hate them. I watched them on the Next Great American Band, and they were awesome! I have to say their song choice last night was not good, they usually sound MUCH better. I guess they didn't get the memo that on AI it's all about song choice, baby! Ashley (the singer) is really good (not that you could tell last night), and also plays a mean violin in addition to the guitar and harmonica. And his two brothers (Adam and Austin I think) are pretty well ackowledged to be among the top dobro and mandolin players around. Part of what makes them so special is that they play different instruments and have a different sound, but this band is all about musicianship, and I agree they probably wouldn't appeal to the mainstream radio crowd.

I have a 14 year old DD and she does not get all the David A. love. Neither does my 10 year old DD. To compare him to Zach Ephron is blasphemy to them!

I am for David Cook all the way! But I have to say Michael Johns made me think naughty thoughts after his Dolly song last night!!

I watched the Next Great American Band too and they were my favorites - very talented guys, that's for sure. I agree the song choice was NOT a good one.

Yay, hey Robin! I couldn't keep up with the other thread so I came over here and I was hoping to see my favorite idol twin

This is definitely my favorite season so far. I LOVED seasons one and two but everything since then until now has been really, really bad. This season they're all so good that it's going to be hard (and interesting) to narrow down the playing field. My favorite is definitely David Cook (I've LOVED him since his audition!) but Michael Johns is a close second, followed by Jason and Brooke. If those were my top four I'd be really, really happy. I'm torn, though, because I've said so many times before that the AI producer's always screw up the winner's debut album by making them sing really cheesy pop crap, yet I'm still kind of pulling for my favorites to win... I can't decide which is better... them winning or not winning!

I really can't stay Kristy and Syesha bores me but there's still something about her that I like. I don't get the David Archuleta phenomenon because the kid has a good voice but there's just nothing special about him. He's way too cheesy, predictable and "High School Musical" for me I like Carly's voice but there's something about her that annoys me, too. I don't really mind her though.

When it comes to Jason, I just think he's really, really laid back. He doesn't seem shy because he's always acting really goofy and dancing and being outgoing, but when it comes to interviews and stuff he just seems really mellow and almost uncomfortable. He's said that he's uncomfortable doing interviews so I think that has a lot to do with it. He cracks me up, though! He's like that kid in college who's sitting in the grass playing his guitar every time you walk by all day

So what do you guys think of David Cook, personality-wise? I've heard so many different thing. I never really got "arrogant" from him but the TMZ moles at Idol rehearsals say he's always really arrogant backstage. I've also heard, though, that he's been having a hard time dealing with the stress of everything because of the show and his brother, and that he's a nice guy who's just been trying to get by, so I don't know who to believe! I do love me some David Cook, regardless

They were definitely different, but something about the lead singer was creepy. He looked possessed when he was singing!

I thought the same thing! She had a really great voice but she didn't know how to use or control it. And she didn't know how to perform AT ALL. I didn't mind her, though, so I'm sad to see her go. I would have rather seen Kristy go first.
