I'm so happy Lee won although I'm sure Crystal will do just fine too. This season wasn't the best but it was great watching with all of you. See ya next season

Couldn't stand it so I came in to see....bummer....wanted Crystal to win....but also wanted Lee to win so guess for me it's a draw. IMO she was a better singer and more confident....he was always so unsure of himself. Guess his working in a paint store days for know are over.

Well it's on now so guess I will watch what seemed to be a mess of a show.

will be interesting to see if Lee or Crystal fall into the American Idol abyss after a year never to be heard from again,.....or if they do great things.

DH says the singing so far is terrible and that he thinks they are paying the audience to clap

I'm guessing it was because of scheduling conflicts, but noticed David Cook missing from the past winners reunion. It sure was great to see Kelly and Fantasia!

I just saw the youtube video of the winners reunion, I must have missed that part when I was doing laundry! I loved it, and got soooo nostalgic watching. Those were the good old days of idol and how sweet to see Paula at the judge's table!

Don't know how true it is, but I read that David Cook had already agreed to a charity even before this was scheduled.

i was just talking to my DH going "this sounds awful tho!! this is supposed to be the new American Idol???" and he replied "seriously?? you watched some of this season.....this was as good as it got!"

Hmm maybe because he just won American Idol and was a little choked up?

I haven't watched this season at all (except for a couple of audition episodes). But I tuned it last night to see who would win. It was right before Seacrest announced the winner, and the two finalists were waiting. It looked like to me that the two already knew Lee had won...he had tears in his eyes and looked like he was containing himself. Crystal looked like she was tugging on his arm, as if in congratulations. I kept thinking, do they already know who won? Because that's how they were acting to me.

Did anyone else notice that too, or was I seeing something that wasn't there?

Crystal is the clearly the better vocalist. Neither of their personalities are especially compelling, but this incident probably did the damage:

Your opinion is that Crystal is better than Lee, but not all of us have the same opinion obviously. And I don't think her wanting to quit the show was the reason she didn't win. A lot of people were tired of her screeching. I won't buy the album she puts out, she sounds too much like Janis Joplin and I've never liked Janis. I will buy Lee's though. In MY opinion Lee is clearly the better vocalist.

I was thinking that Lee looked terrified and nervous. Crystal to me came across as more calm, kind of like okay, whatever happens happens, Lee looked like OMG OMG OMG

Lee has been a nervous wreck at all the eliminations so I don't think they knew. He actually looked like he was going to throw up and I think maybe Crystal was just trying to calm him down There was a year where one of the finalists saw the results on Ryan's card though and I'm wracking my brain trying to remember who it was. Justin Guarini? Can't remember, I'll have to look it up.

I was kind of thinking that too. I don't know if they knew but it sure seemed like they did!

Nah...Lee had that same "I'm going to die" look on his face during Hollywood week when he was sitting in front of the judges waiting to see if he made it through.

I loved the last show. I am so glad Lee won. He has been a nervous wreck every time he is waiting to be judged. He looked so happy.

Crystal is a better stage performer, but they both have very good vocals. I think they will both be successful in their own way.

I think Lee will be fine as a recording artist and his singing will be great when he is recording songs and not on stage. Maybe as his confidence builds, he won't be so nervous onstage.

I know some people hated last night, but I thought the end was great and I liked the tribute to Simon.
