I think this year we hardly got to see the good singers and learn about them. I hope next year they do that more.

I'm happy that the producers decided not to pull out the pitiful backstories this year for the contestants. I'm sure we will see some sad stories (one female contestant has a little girl--I think its Lakisha) but at least they are "showcasing" the talent.

The cookie-cutter white girls are starting to make me nauseous, and that Antonella is their poster girl. There is not a chance on this show for a rocker girl, have you noticed? The workout girl was gone, my Tammy with the lip ring, gone....even Marisa, I think it was- who was the last 2 with Antonella, was a little gritty and soulful and rockin. Gone.

We don't even have the token rocker dude this year do we? Maybe Chris, but eh, not really.

Funny you mentioned cookie cutter white girls...I saw quite a bit of diversity myself.

Heck--there are no blondes this year!

And certainly no certifiable hotties..though the fact that Chris is married..may have just made him hotter than he was. Kidding!!!! But I do find him the most attractive out of the bunch and didn't know until reading his bio that he was chubby.

I think Gina is different than most of the other ladies. I was looking at the bios and saw there were many white women. Just by looking at it, I think its a men competition this year.

I've heard rumors that a man is going to win. I've heard that one man has already been decided as the winner.

When they brought her & Marisa Rhodes in for the final cut I thought for sure that Antonella was going home, especially after they played the snippet of Marisa singing.

I also think that Antonella will be going home early in this competition.

Yes, that final cut upset me. I think the judges were wrong on that decision.


Chris Sligh is still my favorite. Rudy and Sanjaya are close favorites after Chris.
I think the guys are much better than the girls this year!

I enjoyed reading Rudy's bio too. He seems to really love his wife.

Sanjaya is actually very cute... and for those who didn't hear him sing his initial audition was great. He sang a Stevie Wonder song that was fantastic.

And he is this years bring in the young girls vote getter for this season, so even if he stinks we'll see him around for a bit.

The more I watch this show the more I see how it is set up for the voters.
Admittedly there comes a point where the voters have the final say, but the top 24 is set up to have certain people get voted off in the early process and certain ones stick around for a bit. Once it gets to top 12 is when we will actually have voting power.

I remember when they showed more Hollywood stuff.

I guess we are not happy either way. I remember when they would highlight a lot of the singers during Hollywood week, and then when they moved on to the top 24, people complained that the voting is biased, because some of the singers were better known that others. This season, we don't really know much of any of them, except Chris Sligh would be an awesome stand up comedian, and Sanjaya is a cutie.

That final cut really bothered me, too, it was just plan wrong. Antonella will not last long, while Marisa could have gone far. I normally agree with Simon, but I feel the judges truly blew that one. Marisa was much better than a few of the girls they put through.

Did anyone notice the vote on the website. Seems most people think Marisa should have made it.

I was so disappointed in the last cut of the women... totally contrived...

I agree with who said Antonella will be last year's twin cutie, cut EARLY. I actually liked her until last night. I think what they did putting her up against a MUCH better singer was her detriment.

I love love LOVE Chris Sligh... he's MY kind of guy!! He's got a dry cool type of humor and he CAN SING!

Sundance I see as a fan favorite, but I don't think he'll survive.

SO SO SO glad there are no obvious country types... sorry I throw up at the sound of that music. Why??? Because my Mom played it all my life and just made me sick of it. My mother was a BIG country fan... me? I liked James Brown!!! We fought about that all of the time!!

I'm kind of sorry the cute English guy from the Chris Sligh group didn't make it, Tommy. He was adorable!! I didn't hear his Hollywood solo song, maybe that was his problem. All of the other guys made it through, though. I really like the guys this year. I like about 4 of the girls, too.

I see Sanjaya as this year's Lisa. Cute, young, adorable but not enough to make it to the end.

Well, here we go. I've only BLOWN one winner so far... last name UNDERWHELM... .... let's see how it goes this year!! I think it will be a good one!

I'm not really down with Sanjaya. I think he reminds me too much of Donny Osmand.... He strikes me as a lot younger as he really is.

I was sold on Chris Sligh when he made the Hasselhoff comment. I almost fell off my couch.

Antonella drives me nuts and I agree that Marisa should have stayed. Antonella's friend drove me even crazier and when she said that "God rewards the good people" when Bailey got cut and they didn't, I almost threw my shoe at the TV.

I can't stand the Top 24 rounds, so hopefully they go by quickly!! I feel like Top 24 is some fantastic singers and some mediocre ones. The mediocre ones are the ones that make top 24 painful for me!!
