American Idol Season 6: The Official Thread

A night of highs and lows.

The highs:
Chris Sligh, Chris Richardson, Blake and Nick. Their performances ranged from well done (Nick) to terrific Chris R. I didn't love Sligh's song choice (and how DID he snag such a good looking wife??) but I loved how he sang it. Blake threw in some beat boxing, which was really good but he'll need to monitor how often he does it or he'll get pigeon holed and then the judges will start yelling at him to do something different...you know, your danged if you do and danged if you don't with those guys!

Sanjaya...were you whispering the song? Seriously, I had to turn up the volume to hear it...and then I sumamrily turned it down so I wouldn't have to. Buh-bye kiddo.

Anyone esle think that JAred looks JUSt like Sucre from Prison Break? DH yells out "Maricruz!!" everytime he sees him.

A.J is a little flaming for my tastes. He looks like he should be doing college musical theatre.


Sundance has not redeemed himself with his good performance. I will need to see him wow me next week too...and I hope he makes it to next week to prove himself.

This year, all of the contestants remind me of someone else. Here is my list of who or what:

Phil = Bat boy picture
Jarrod = Cralton Banks on the Fresh Prince of Bellaire
A.J. = His performances remind me of something Michael Evans did on Good Times when they were trying to raise money for the lady in the building who was eating cat food.
Sanjaya = Michael Jackson, but not Thriller MJ - creepy little boy diddler MJ.
Chris S = Jack Osborne of course.
Nick = You guys won't know him but he reminds me of my little sister's boyfriend. Maybe that's why I like him and want him to stay.
Blake = Mike Boogie from Big Brother - I don't watch Dancing with the Stars.
Brandon = The little bear from the Country Bears movie
Chris R = Well, JT, of course.
Sundance = Larry the Cable Guy

IAll of these people saying Phil's looks bother them, get over it, he's an excellent singer.

I can get over it when I'm listening to him on the radio, but I wouldn't pay money to stare at him for two hours at a concert. He's not nice to look at and he doesn't put on much of a show on stage. So, those two things should be taken into consideration when I am voting for MY next American Idol. Others may feel differently so they can choose whatever criteria they want to use when voting for their choice for AI.

I'm so glad that my husband and I aren't the only ones that kept comparing Sanjaya to Michael Jackson. My husband said at the end if this doesn't get MJ back to the states nothing will

I really like Chris S. I think it's because I have big hair affiliation and so far my Matt likes Nick. I haven't made up my mind about the girls yet because I only saw a little from last week. We were watching the Departed instead 3 hours of my life I won't get back.

Okay, I know I have way too much time on my hands, but it is so distracting that I think of these other people when they are singing and I wanted to compare them. It was too easy to find pictures of their look a likes posed almost the exact same way.
