Oh and for any Fantasia Barrino fans out there, she'll be on the show Friday promoting her stint in the Color Purple musical.

I have been wanting and wanting to see the Color Purple. Any idea how long her stint is supposed to last? My birthday isn't til December; I'm probably out of luck.

I just read that she began the role on April 10 and will do the role for a 6-month run so unfortunately, her time should end on the show in October unless they extend it for some reason.

Blake just sang "She will be Loved" on Regis and Kelly.

Sorry Blake fans but I thought it was horrible. Way too much beatboxing and also the echo effect was annoying. YUCK!

It wasn't horrible, it was quite good actually... I just found the echo to be a bit too much, but considering he's playing the guitar, running the echo machine via foot and singing, I think it was good. I'm sure he'll listen to the playback and tone down the echo for the next performance.... I never knew he could play an instrument, let alone a whole song's worth....

I have to agree... I love Blake, my fave since the auditions but yuck... I didn't like that at all today. But itunes has some great songs.

Thanks! I thought he sang the same song much better on AI, however, on Live today, he over did the beatboxing, and especially the echo effect.

I have nothing against the guy, even though I voted for Jordin. My DD loves him!

Okay, I just went to ITunes to watch the video, and I agree, parts of it were a mess. He made a mistake at the very beginning (accidentally looped in the audience applause), and had to record another segment. That's why the beatboxing was so long in the beginning. It seemed like the rest of the song he was trying to correct that mistake, and it threw off his timing.
HOWEVER: the fact that he was able to continue singing, working the loop, echo machine and playing the guitar was amazing.

I give him a C for this performance,
but an A for effort!

Totally agree, he did exactly what I thought he would do... listen to it back (from yesterday) and adjust accordingly.... that's what a musician does He was great today.... I wonder if being outside vs. inside and accoustics have a relation ie: the echo is more pronounced inside vs. out.
