RUMOR

Rumor has it Kellie Pickler is dating Constantine from last years American Idol :confused3 . Just saw the rumor on t.v. They also reported that America will be shocked at tonights bottom 3.

Constantine's publicist has been working overtime during this AI season... I wouldn't be surprised if I see him hooking up with Randy Jackson!

Shocked at the bottom 3? That means one thing to me, KEVIN is not in it!!! :badpc:

I read the update, I just didn't expect it to be completely DOWN already. I sort of understand Fox's problem with the site and the fact that they CAN is the reason they did. I doubt seriously that they'd waste time in litigation over a little website but they can threaten them.

The site did not infringe on any copyrights though.

So based on the rumors that the bottom 3 will be shocking...who do you think the bottom 3 will be? You guys don't think Chris or Taylor will be one of them do you? I remember the last time that they said that Bo was in the bottom 2, and Constantine was voted off.

The bottom 3 could have Kevin, Melissa, and Lisa in it to be shocking. (My guess is Ace/Lisa/Melissa.

Notice they don't say the boot is shocking. Cya Melissa. :guilty:

About the whole DialIdol/Voting debate I have found myself in. I have more I want to say, but obviously I am just wasting time and space debating/arguing on this pointless topic.

I'll go out on a limb and say Ace, Lisa and Melissa.

Yikes, Slacking... I think we finally agreed on something!!! :earseek:

I think that Kevin will be in the bottom three but I don't think he'll be going home. My prediction would be Kevin, Ace and Melissa. It'll probably be Melissa who's going home (unfortunately.)

My favorites last night were Bucky, Taylor and Chris. Everyone else just bored me! I think Taylor and Chris will be in the top two. I don't think Bucky will win, but I hope he makes it far in this competition! He seems so humble, and he's got a very raw, gravelly and imperfect voice, but there's something about him that rocks!

Kellie - just bored me to tears. And I hated the hair too! The ditzyness, however natural it may be, does grate on the nerves after a while. And what was up with her crying when Stevie walks into the room, but admits she didn't know any of his songs? What drama!

Mandisa - did a great job. My favorite of the girls!

Kathryn - sings perfectly, but there's something about her that just rubs me wrong. She seems a bit pretentious - I could be wrong, I just get that "vibe" from her.

Melissa - her voice is alright. Just didn't do anything for me last night. And nerves or not, you just CAN'T forget the lyrics to your song on performance night!

Paris - she sure can sing, but she just doesn't do it for me.

Lisa - she's got a beautiful voice, but she just bores me.

Kevin - nothing more can be said about this guy. He should have been gone a LONG time ago. In fact, I can't believe he even made it into the final 24 in the first place. I can barely stand to watch or listen to him! I doubt the people voting for him would ever really buy any of his music. I think even Stevie was trying - in a nice way - to say that Kevin sucked!

Elliott- he seemed really nervous last night, which surprised me because I thought he'd nail a Stevie song. Very bad song choice. His emotional reaction to meeting Stevie was very moving!

Ace - sounded horrible. Looks will only get him so far in this competition. I was impressed by what he said during his interview about meeting and singing with Stevie. He's a very down to earth guy.

I was really wishing that we could have heard Gedeon sing a Stevie song. This would have been his night to shine!

I'm thinking Ace/Kellie/Melissa in the bottom 3? Just a thought. That would be shocking for me. I hope Kevin is in the bottom 3. Its time for him to sail on.

Oh did you all know that Lisa Tucker was on Star Search about 3 yrs ago. She lost to Tiffany Evans. I thought Lisa looked familiar.

The last four were incredibly impressive. Katherine, Chris, Taylor and Paris -- I could see them as Final Four.

We were wondering how long it would take for Fox to get DialIdol shut down. I saw that coming a mile away.

Not necessarily because of any copyright or trademark violations, but because they don't want the majority of the voting public to know that they can pretty much decide who to boot out that week, votes be darned.

American Idol is not a game show and therefore is not held to the same rules that game shows are (fixing the outcome, etc.) American Idol is considered a talent compitition.

They have a teeeennny tinnnyy disclaimer that runs through the credits that basically states that AI can throw out any votes they deem earned by "power voting". There really isn't a way that AI could possibly 100% identify the number of votes a contestant gets via some technology that dials the number repetively. It makes for a good clause to be able to take some votes away from someone and make them drop a bit in the standings though.

We saw Lisa in the rock bottom last week and then again this week. She's got a great voice but unfortunately the stage presence of a cactus. She just doesn't capture people's attention like the other performers. If Lisa kept falling in the rock bottom every week but managed to stay on the show, yet all of their other predictions based on their data were pretty much within the realm of error - people will start questioning it. Makes sense that they would want that site out of the way to insure this from happening.

It's just like last year when Constantine was voted out. I seriously have a hard time believing that Scott received more votes than Constantine even though Constantine's performance wasn't his best. I barely knew anyone outside of VFTW that was throwing Scott any votes but knew plenty of people that voted for Constantine. Yeah, I know that doesn't mean it wasn't true, but it still seemed... off.. to me.

Anyway.. JMO - take it as you want, conspiracy theory or whatever. ;)

Yeah, conspiracy theory -- that's the way I'll take it. :)

The producers' have a vested interest in ensuring the singer who will be the most popular wins.

Obi- as far as I know, using DialIdol was no different then dialing manually non-stop for the full 2 hours except did it through your computer and it kept track of your data and the data of everyone using the program. I believe its slightly different than auto/power-dialers. Not sur ehow those work, but from what I've read they are very different things.

If I have to watch Kevin sing one more week...well, I won't give up Idol, but I may have to use earplugs for his performance. His very presence in the Top 12 is a complete embarassment, and the fact that he is acting like he is so great is ridiculous. I can't understand why Randy and Paula actually give him positive feedback. I would rather have a CD of fingernails scratching against the chalkboard than listen to Kevin sing anything. Oh please, let him be gone this week!

As for enjoyable performances, Taylor, Chris and Katherine were the standouts. Although I hated Katherine's outfit! It made her look pregnant.

45 minutes until we know...well, 45 minutes, plus 20 plus minutes of commercials and filler.

I probably didn't explain myself quite right ;) I don't believe for a minute that they shut DialIdol down because they thought they were power dialing votes. I think they may use that as their excuse in the long run. I think it was shut down because they don't want people to have a place that gives them a *somewhat* (read: not 100% right but in the ballpark) view of how the voting actually went.

If they were always going *exactly* as the viewers voted, how come they never say who had the most votes, second most, etc? I know that someone said it would hurt the contestants feelings if they weren't on top, but sheesh, Simon can do more to your ego than not landing the top slot that week!

As I said before, American Idol is absolutely under no obligation to go 100% by the viewers votes. They have ways around it and unfortuantely it is not against any rules. They aren't a game show. :confused3

Bicker, the producers have a vested interest in making sure that the person that can make them the most $$ will win. If for some reason, the Kevin love went rabid and the votes for him kept him all the way to the top 2 and he was up against someone like Chris or Taylor - both of them who cause dollar signs to dance in Simon's eyes - do you really think that Kevin would win? While he might be a cute enough kid, I just can't see him selling millions of records or packing auditoriums like I could Chris or Taylor.

Plain and simple, AI is a talent search for their recording label and at the end of the day, the person that goes home with the contract will be someone that THEY want to have the contract - whether it agrees with America or not.

As I said before - just my opinion :)

I pretty much agree with all you said. And your explanation why Fox would go after DI makes sense. BUT, I personally don't think DI did anything wrong, but Fox pretty much has the power to do whatever they want in this matter.

I just skimmed thru the posts so not sure what everyone had to say-I came on before the show started realized my mistake and left quickly!

Ace-He was terrible last night all over the place-Runs were spoken

Pickler-Absolutely horrendous-I dont believe her backwoods routine is a routine anymore-If she was playing a bumpkin those bumpkin answers just come to easy to be fake

Elliot-Good couldve been better-with his voice I kind of expected more

Mandisa-Rough to start but with that song unless your Stevie its hard not to be-her control and range were great when she hit the uptempo

Bucky-surprised at how well he did-kinda thought it was gonna be bad but it was ok

Melissa-OUCH-yeah she lost the words but I believe it was because of how she changed the song kinda felt like in the beginning she was trying to sing it the original way versus her way and it threw her off--she did clean up nice though

Lisa-way better than she has been as far as presence goes-I thought she was going to have the same probs as Ayla but she worked it out nicely-Still not 100% sold on her though just something there I cant explain

Kevin--I read a couple of posts that bashed him for last nights but all I can say is WOW-I think if I was blindfolded and made to listen to the last couple of weeks of songs then last nights I would not believe they were the same person--Maybe being a sex symbol now is boosting his confidence! his runs were perfect his timing dead on and that with that song is a feat onto itself

Katherine-By far the best female vocals of the night-lets hope she can keep it up

Taylor-I love him but it just didnt feel right last night-Maybe it was the song because I just didnt get the whole TH vibe from him with that song Still good nonetheless

Paris-What the heck was that thing with her leg?-I kept seeing my uncle at the family bbq playing Spoons on his knee-talented yes but I just don't think she has the AI factor-keep picturing her doing backup for Ella Fitzgerald

Chris-Phenomenal stage presence-I wouldn't have believed it to be a Stevie song if I didn't already know-The rock is his meal ticket and he knows it-I think if he were to do a ballad it would be from one of the hair bands maybe "Is this love"by Whitesnake

Worst last night-Kellie by a mile
Best last night-Katherine

I agree with you on that too. I think DialIdol did absolutely nothing wrong. It was a slick move on AI's legal department's part to have that disclaimer because it gives them the ground to pull sites like DialIdol.

I liked DialIdol. Like I said, they weren't 100% accurate, but they were in the ballpark. It was also interesting watching the stats gathered in real time and seeing the difference in the scores as different time zones started voting. When it was just the east coast voting, Melissa was rock bottom. As soon as mountain time kicked in, she started steadily climbing.

I so totally agree with this, and thought the exact same thing myself. I have always known that is why they have never said who got the most votes, second most, etc. I knew that they always had control somewhat....or else what would they have to hide? And that is the first thing I thought when they wanted dialidol shut down.
