I probably didn't explain myself quite right

I don't believe for a minute that they shut DialIdol down because they thought they were power dialing votes. I think they may use that as their excuse in the long run. I think it was shut down because they don't want people to have a place that gives them a *somewhat* (read: not 100% right but in the ballpark) view of how the voting actually went.
If they were always going *exactly* as the viewers voted, how come they never say who had the most votes, second most, etc? I know that someone said it would hurt the contestants feelings if they weren't on top, but sheesh, Simon can do more to your ego than not landing the top slot that week!
As I said before, American Idol is absolutely under no obligation to go 100% by the viewers votes. They have ways around it and unfortuantely it is not against any rules. They aren't a game show.
Bicker, the producers have a vested interest in making sure that the person that can make them the most $$ will win. If for some reason, the Kevin love went rabid and the votes for him kept him all the way to the top 2 and he was up against someone like Chris or Taylor - both of them who cause dollar signs to dance in Simon's eyes - do you really think that Kevin would win? While he might be a cute enough kid, I just can't see him selling millions of records or packing auditoriums like I could Chris or Taylor.
Plain and simple, AI is a talent search for their recording label and at the end of the day, the person that goes home with the contract will be someone that THEY want to have the contract - whether it agrees with America or not.
As I said before - just my opinion
