The Christmas trip that took forever to get there!!

I must say, for longer trips electric can be tough for all the reasons you've discovered. It requires some serious planning for charging locations, but can be done in a way to minimize stops when combined with meals/bathroom breaks/etc. I have a plug in hybrid and have found it to be the best of both worlds. On most days, I get by just fine on my 30 mile range via the electric power. But I drive from VA to New England enough each year, and that's just out of the range of most fully electric cars, and so having the hybrid engine is fantastic -- it just switches over after 30 miles, and as others have said, the range per gallon of gas is incredible.

Hoping your next leg of the drive is a little better!

This makes me glad to drive my GMC Sierra with the V8 engine.

Count me in for this one:)
I cringed reading about your troubles finding a charger, and one that would work. How frustrating.
I'm another one that would not buy one. My daughter has a hybrid Toyota and loves it. It runs great and gets good mileage. I would consider one of those. Can't wait for the rest of your TR!
