I vote for Bucky, because I like him. I actually think he had one of the better performaces this week. And I was very happy that he did not make it to the bottom three. And I look foward to his performance next week. As well as Chris, Taylor and Mandisa.

You know, no one looked more shocked than Bucky when they announced that Katherine was in the bottom three. I like how he's not the least bit arrogant and seems so real. I still can't help but believe that he could do so much better than he has so far though.

You think? Who do you think is watching AI? Have any studies been done on this?

I don't think that being pretty really affects a person on this show. All of the ladies are pretty IMO. As for being cosmopolitan, I suppose that you could have a point with that one. Talented? Sure but it takes more than talent to make it.

And sorry, I don't think any of the other women in the top 24 came close to Katherine, Ayla, and Beckie, in terms of being pretty. I dont think this is a beauty contest....Ruben and Fantasia were by no means pretty as a matter of fact Kelly Clarkson was not very pretty till she made millions....LOL....Carrie Underwood is pretty but she also had a great voice.....I think you are off on those comments

Lisa is gone as we all predicted nut I was pretty shocked to see Katherine as second to last. She was NOT second worst of the evening. Hopefully next week will be *shudder* better (ewwwwwwww...country.)

I honestly think at some point in the competition, every single contestant should stand up there in the bottom 3...it gives them a reality check.

Some of them, their heads get waaaay too big by top 5 or so.

I think that's a generous comment, in light of the fact that she was up against real beauties like Vonzell Soloman and Nadia Turner. To be fair, though, in Season 3, at least, there was a minor exception: Jasmine Treas made it to the Final 3 on the strength of the entire state of Hawaii voting for her.

The way AI has set up their voting, voting once is practically meaningless. They make the point repeatedly: Vote as often as you like. It is a horrible way of gauging interest, IMHO; instead it only measures fanaticism. While rabid fans do buy records, the vast majority of the Platinum albums are purchased by folks with a less rabid interest in the singer.

See, I'm new to this AI thing. This is the first season I've really watched religiously and I was wondering about that. The winners are the ones with the fans most likely to sit by the phone dialing for 3 hours? I love Elliot, but I don't know if I'm up to the challenge of what it would take to help him win!

ITA. Who sounds the best is completely subjective and what sounds good to one person may sound horrible to someone else.

AGREE also! It IS personal preferance. And, this happens EVERY year...people stay that are NOT as good as others who have left.

Yes, she beat Diana Degarmo. I don't even know how she made it to second. Diana probably had the better voice out of the two, but her personality just bugged me. That season was definitely the worst season of all and I think the only person who really deserved to win was Latoya. After she was voted off it was just ridiculous to watch.

That is who I was thinking of! LaToya deserved to win it that year. She was IMO heads and shoulders above the others. Thisis the perfect example of people being voted off that are better than those that stay!

I like Katherine, but I was not surprised to see her in the bottom 3. She needs to lay off the boring ballads and step it up a notch. She has a beautiful voice, but she needs to show America that she has a pulse, too. If she can do that, I see her and Chris going head to head in the finals (although I'm still rooting for Chris!! ).

Not much of a shock last night despite the dire warnings. I even picked the bottom two yesterday.

Personally, I was glad to see Katharine in the bottom 3. She looked like she was going to spit nails while she was there.

Just a comment on Bucky. I'm not a fan of his like some but I thought he had one of the most infectious performances of the night on Tuesday. I have no clear cut favorite this year so if someone is better than they've been (like Bucky was), I throw them some votes.

I think Lisa's main problem was her age and that her voice just couldn't deal with daily workouts it was being forced to do. Don't know that for sure as I'm not a singer but it sounds logical.

Next week's theme has me really excited. I love most country music! Great melodies and songs that actually tell a story. Now we'll see if this group remembers Barry's advice and puts themselves into the story so they can really sell what their singing.

Oh, and one word on the guest singers last night.

I think your comments just totally confused me....I have worked all night with little sleep yesterday so I am not absorbing much....I do know this...Ayla, Katherine, and Kellie and Lisa that just got voted off and Carrie last season are gorgeous...

I think the part about about being the biggest beauty contest and the pretty ones getting voted off confused me in you comments....

So if what you are saying is true Kellie, Katherin ace and chris will not win

I'm really surprised that Katherine was there. Maybe it was her song choice! I really think she has one of the better female voices.

I'm puzzled that Bucky seems to have so many fans. I just don't get it. I would have thought he would have gone home weeks ago.

My next choice to go would be Ace.

I think Carrie Underwood is probably the nicest looking female that AI has ever had. I don't like her style of singing but I do think that she was absolutely gorgeous, moreso than Nadia and Vonzell and even Jasmine.

I do agree on the voting issue. You do need to vote a lot, which adults don't really have the time or inclination to do.

I thought that all the AI contestants did a better job than the guest performers last night.

So because you don't like Bucky that means anyone that does is only voting for him as a sympathy vote? That doesn't even make any sense. I didn't vote for Katherine because I thought she was terrible, even Simon said on playback she wasn't good. I like Bucky, I like his voice and his personality so therefore I vote for him.

I like Bucky. Would I vote for him because I thought he was the best singer? No. Would I throw votes his way because I just like him? Yes. I guess that would be more sympathy than," Bucky is going to be the next American Idol." Yes the sympathy vote does make sense. Katherine was far from terrible. She is one of the best singers on the show. I forgot something. This is a popularity contest not a true singing competition.
