I beg to differ, Jessica will do VERY well in R&B, she sounds like a lot of singers in that genre. She doesn't have enough personality and ability to emote on stage, imho. Skylar would be amazing on stage, she's believable.

Good to hear your thoughts about Jessica. I like Skylar, too. Lots of personality, I think her concerts are going to be really fun. I hope they all do well!

Jessica certainly doesn't seem to connect at all with her peers. I don't see her selling out venues on a big solo concert tour. I also don't see her recording hit singles.

Maybe Jessica's best options will be starring in musical theatre.
Sometimes when she sings she reminds me of a young Lea Salonga. I think their ranges are the similar.
I think there's a good chance she'll end up on Broadway one of these days.

Of course it's ok to post here! ITA, Jessica plain doesn't connect with anyone in my book...except a voice coach's wallet she's technical alright, technically boring. Well, I don look to see how much higher her heels get each week...nothing easier to fall from a pedastle in pk. I'll play nice now, she is good but not "whole package "good. Funny how the shoved that down our throats year after year, and hardly mention it anymore. I think they touched on it with Deandre some, but that was it.

I also felt that the judges blatant fawning over Jessica was diesrespectful to
the other contestants. She is a yougn girl and has a great voice, but there is much more to being a performer/entertainer than that.

Personally, I think Elise is the best overall package on the show. Skylar runs a close second.

Colton's good although the style of music he chooses isn't my thing.

Hollie's good but young...like Jessica, she needs a little life behind her.

Phillip sings the exact same way every week and I get a little tired of his "I'm here for the musiic" baloney every week, as if he is the true artist and the rest are not. Plus I HATE the faces he makes while singing.

Joshua screams through every song IMHO. I find it tiresome as well.

I just keep thinking back to how Britney Spears and Christina A were back when they started and Jessica is no where in the same league as those 2 personality wise. I mean Britney doesn't even have the voice, but she had the spark and personality and it worked for her.

Jessica is just trying to copy adult singers, it is so obvious that she thinks she is the next Beyonce..even going with the whole BB Chez thing just like Beyonce has her little alter ego thing.

I remember a few years back there was a person on Idol who sounded very much like Beyonce and the judges got all over her saying we didn't need another Beyonce...now there is this one who is so obviously copying her and they are fawning all over her. Of course it is a whole new set of judges except for randy..so now it is a new script to read.

Jessica has a lot of backers, reminiscent of David Archuleta. She's a very young girl who has fallen into an adult world and unfortunately, it comes with a lot of negative as well as positive.

Just caught up with last week and noticed one thing that maybe you've discussed and I just missed. But is it just me, or does Hollie seem to lack any sense of musicality to her movement? Her dance/movement has always seemed awkward, but in that group number it just seemed worse than usual.

frankly, she is one of the ones i think would do terribly with Queen. i could see her trying "Somebody to Love," but i still think it would be terrible.

I have been clueless about the background of this years performers so I was surprised to learn that Jessica Sanchez had competed on Americas Got Talent. I know it was five years ago but it just don't seem like AI would want their winner to be someone who competed and lost on another show, especially one that doesn't have the position or popularity that AI holds. It cheapens the brand that AI has built. Also doesn't AI have rules that prevent someone that appears on their own show from competing again? Why then someone from a competing show?
