love him. loved him on MMC too. i voted for him on Monday night.

i almost had a sympathetic moment towards Jessica when she said she wasn't surprised. and then she had to go and say that "worked so hard all my life" bit. yeah. that killed it.

There is no way that I would ever go to one of Jessica's concerts or buy her music. And, it isn't what is on a contemporary radio station today. She may be pitch perfect - but not sure her music, in the long run, will sell.

Please, please America do not vote for Jessica next week. I am so tired of this show trying to tell us what our taste in music should be. There is so much more to music than just technically hitting notes. And just because a note exists does not mean that it is pleasant to hear or that we want to hear a singer show us that they can hit a bunch of unpleasant sounding notes.

and also, personality is a HUGE part. you have to have the package. you have to have something that compels people to WANT to buy your music. i don't care how technically proficient you are, if your personality turns me off, i won't listen to you. period.

Love him and he is a complete sweetheart. I have very fond memories of my shows I've been to see him.

Yeahhhh she's worked so hard in her what 16-17 years...maybe if you were 26 or older I could get it but....

Exactly! and as far as Pia sales, I see nothing in the RIAA database for gold or platinum sales so not super hot apparently.

That group number was the worst of recent memory. Just painful to watch. I had to laugh at Phillip Phillips, he looked like he was thinking "what the heck am I doing on this show?" For all the singer- songwriters they have this season, doing those group numbers just feels worse than normal.

I did love Jennifer Hudson's performance. Now that is talent. Too bad they didn't have the save when she was performing on AI...didn't seem to matter too much overall though. I also loved Melinda Doolittle, I wonder whatever happened to her? She was one of my favorite AI contestants who didn't win.

The whole thing with Jessica was sickening from the beginning. The way they carried on about Jessica and ignored Hollie. I felt so bad for Hollie. All of that we saw I believe was staged, just so the producers could pimp Jessica a little more. I actually think she is a good singer but am sick of the favoritism.

why do they say "singer-songwriter" like that means they can't sing? why can't a singer-songwriter be technically proficient too?

I know when I think that term I think along the line of Phillip, Paul McDonald last season. People who enjoy performing without everything and sell it more on their voice and lyrics. I see Beyonce or Gaga as more of a performer.

I interpret the singer-songwriter to be an artist who is mostly about the lyrics and the song and less about the presentation. Someone who is more apt to just stand with a guitar than someone who would dance around the stage.

jessica was standing there when elise went to her side and, well, no reception party tonight for elise.......

jessica didn't even go thru the pretending motions of the "yaa, you're here with me and we're safe" from what i saw.

of course i didn't have my glasses on when i was watching but i did not see any signs of jessica returning or encouraging a greeting.

and i am probably slanted as i don't care for jessica at all.......

Like Elise who worked like a dog at bars late at night... I'm sure Jessica was carted around by her caretakers. She doesn't even know how to speak.

I'd appreciate her more if she had her own persona. Yesterday's song she even used Beyonce's way of speaking (ghetto Texan) and her inflections. I flinch when I hear them!! What's next? She'll marry a hip hop millionaire and have a baby?

I noticed Jessica didn't hug either Elise or Hollie. I don't know if that was from nerves or if she is just really cold. She seems a little dazed from week to week. There really isn't a lot of personality there, which is what you guys have been saying. I see it too but I do think she is technically almost flawless.

I see singer songwriter being along the lines of Kris Kristofferson. He could write and he sang but he wrote much better than he sang. Then there is someone like Carole King...she is the whole package. Not technically perfect but when she sings the songs she wrote you feel them right along with her.
