yep...when James began singing and Scotty and Lauren were looking at him, giving him his final moment, Haley was smiling right into the camera making sure she was in focus. Again, all about her. Her town is about 20 miles from me, and they aren't even hosting her homecoming, (claiming cost reasons) at least according to the town of Wheeling where she is from. Well, I guess I am pulling for Lauren..she sang the crap out of Haley in their duet tonight...and Lauren didn't have to have a hissy fit to get her votes.

What I saw when they made the announcement is Lauren burst out into a big smile and Haley looking very sombre and concerned. Just shows how we read different things into what we see.

It wasnt hard to miss Haley's reaction when James was sent home. It struck me as cold. Thats very interesting about her home town. That attitude could bite her in the butt.

The show really needs to look at their voting process. Too many good singers are voted off way to soon. This show has turned me off so many times. They need to make it a singing competition not a popularity contest. Haley stays and James goes? Really. They lost me at Pia.

It is a popularity contest. That's the way the voting is set up. Whoever has the fans that can get in the most votes, is going to win. Doesn't mean you have the most fans or are the best singer.

What do you think, the first reaction was to these headlines? The majority of AI voters are in the Bible Belt. Doesn't put James in a good light..the facts are irrelevant.

Yep, you are right. The "winner" was determined weeks ago. The "votes" have a purpose...to keep up the ratings. It's why Casey was "saved"...

i think this result is America rebelling against the blatant pushing of a contestant yet again. for the past three seasons, the contestant that the judges pushed did not win. and same thing tonight. i don't think he deserved to win though, so i'm not upset.

i really am kind of ambivalent about most of them. i loved Casey, but was disappointed in his incessant growling. he was SO good during Hollywood week and then just got caught up in something else. i also don't see someone like him winning anyway.

i've said it before, but i don't see a superstar here. it's just another ho-hum year.

not when they announced James name, but when Ryan gave him the mic to sing, and they panned over to the 3 fnalists..at which time Lauren and Scotty focused on James, after all it was his moment, but Haley was looking at the camera, smiling. My DS actually pointed it out to me...then I rewatched it and sure enough that what she did.

But I could say exactly the same thing about Lauren here. Haley looks very concerned and Lauren is just all big smiles making it look like it is just all about her and she doesn't care about James' feelings.

I would imagine that both girls felt very badly about their fellow contestants but very relieved that they were continuing on.

yep you could say that and should as it is true, only Haley manages to slip in a few too many of those type of things...just sayin'. All I know is Lauren totally out sang Haley in the duet...so I'm gonna say since she is the better singer, she will not win.

Seriously. We get it, you don't like Haley.

And I saw that too. Haley wasn't smiling like the cheshire cat, more like a cat caught up by the pretty lights up on the ceiling. Lauren was the one who had a pursed smile on her face like she was about to full out laugh and caught herself.

And the only other time this happened was when Haley was talking to the person to her left when Pia was eliminated. Everyone made a big deal out of it at first thinking she was laughing, but people who were actually IN THE AUDIENCE pointed out on Twitter she kinda wasn't paying attention and then felt bad. She wasn't being malicious.

Geez.

the truth is that none of us know what was going through any of their minds.

i would guess that those who are safe are thrilled they are safe. they are excited to be in the top three. and they are probably sad to see someone have to go home. but they're probably completely relieved that it wasn't them.
