My teenage DGDs love country, but not Scotty...to cheesy and OVERRATED.

And, Carrie..I'm still shocked, over her success. She has great vocals, but soooo boring. The right marketing goes along way.

Yes, it's fine for HER to be boring but Pia? Nawwww...

I always called her Carrie UnderWHELM.

I actually LIKED Scotty at first but that wore off FAST. I love low voices so I was thrilled at first but his performances are a turn off and it got old quick.

The only one I see having any sort of career is Scotty. Last year I couldn't see any of them having any career.

Carrie Underwood won Idol and she is total country- she didn't seem to have any problem selling records as an American Idol winner / Country singer!!!!

No matter which record company he signs with, he's gonna be told what to do- he's a newcomer and he's only 16.

Carrie Underwood is very country NOW. If you go back and listen to her first album it is a lot more pop then what she is now. The farther she has gotten away from the Idol the more country she has become.

I know that a lot of teen girls love Scotty but I think he has a large appeal in older people too. My mom is probably his biggest fan! I know a lot of other adults too that want Scotty to win.

I don't find her boring at all.

I think she's the whole package. She gorgeous and sings great too. She does lots of volunteering and charity work. She's funny and has chosen great songs. I love her videos especially the one for "Just a Dream".

I love Carrie!! She's the only Idol that I loved that won! I just wish they played more of her songs on the radio around here. I have a couple of her CDs, but the only song I've ever heard on the radio by me is "Before He Cheats," and that was awhile ago.

This is the first year NO ONE in my office even brings up the show... and we all watch it. It's so uneventful it's like watching paint dry. But, like the appointment tv junkies we are, WE STILL WATCH IT. What is UP with that?

I don't find her exactly boring, but I do find her awkward...on stage anyway...can't quite put my finger on it, but she just doesn't have an ease about her, engaging persone. Her voice, awesome love listening to her on the radio, just watching her not so much.

As much as Paula Abdul annoyed me, at least she was able to put some good contestants on that stage. The whole sex appeal thing seems to have totally gone out the window in her absence (at least with the male contestants).

Probably not. Kara let the cat out of the bag in her book that the producers pick the contestants, not the judges. JLo wouldn't help, she OBVIOUSLY has no taste in men.

I sure wish they would consider sex appeal when choosing these guys, it gives us some EYE candy if nothing else. All I ask is for ONE good looking guy...just ONE. We had several in the past, throw us a BONE!

Ugh, that annoys me about the producers picking. Perhaps though, they picked the good looking guys to get an interaction with Paula during the show. Once Paula was gone they didn't need that Paula/hot guy element.

Ahh. The good old days. When Idol had contestants worth looking at and listening too and the Idol thread generally got along.

This year, not so much. No one really great but we sure have some strongly voiced opinions about the mediocrity.

They are neither great or really bad. They're just okay. Out of THOUSANDS of people we get OKAY??? My son and his friends sound better doing karaoke.

And her first album sold more than her subsequent albums. But truthfully, the big money in music these days does not come from selling recorded music -- it comes from touring and merchandising.

I love music from the 50"s so I hope tonight doesn't disappoint ....well, other than I'm pretty sure Haley is going to make me wince and make me want to clear my throat. I hope their outfits also reflect the 50's , that would be cool daddy-o!
