Jumping in here kind of late--

I just wanted to say I wasn't sure I would watch this year because of not having Simon. I am with the rest of you who LOVE this year's judges! Simon who??

Steven Tyler is not at all like I thought he was. He earned my respect when he asked the one guy to bring in his girlfriend in the wheelchair who had been in the accident. He was so sweet with her, it seemed really genuine.

I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season!

I'm in total agreement. I was totally thinking I was going to hate him as a judge. Watching just these few shows has totally turned my thoughts in another direction. I like him as a judge, he brought me to tears with the girlfriend in the wheelchair. I like the chemistry between the judges..there doesn't seem to be any tension at all.

I think if there is going to be tension, eventually, it will be Randy feeling that he's being badly up-staged. Not that I think ST or JL will aim to do that, but for all he's got, RJ simply isn't as much of a presence as either ST or JL. I think, despite Mariah Carey and the rest, AI will end up being RJ's most significant credit, while at most it'll not be more than a footnote for ST or JL.

How about when he turned to Randy and said "you can't just tell people they're not good." (in subtitles because it was whispered, so...not even said for the sake of the camera). This happened the other night, too, but it really struck me because:
A) He's correcting the AI judge with 10 years of experience
B) All of the speculation that he would be the judge to "replace" Simon, and
C) How, after all the talk that Simon couldn't be replaced (myself included), that this type of judging seems to have even more appeal. It is possible to be honest AND kind and to make for good tv at the same time. Imagine that!

I totally missed all that.

And yes, imagine that. There are a lot of people that are really enjoying the judges the year.

There was nothing to solve. It was clear-cut from the start: Abuse of process; plaintiff has no leg to stand on.

She is my early favorite to win

Like I said earlier I am impressed with Steven but I am also impressed with Jennifer Lopez. I guess I was expecting her to be much more Paula Abulish (ditzy, bimbo type) but she seems to really have a good sense of music and is well spoken.

I still think that Simon is better then all the judges combined at spotting REAL "STAR" talent though.

hmmm, I bet Jennifer Hudson would disagree with you on that, Remember he said something along the lines fo her future being a cruise ship singer? She was on the new Disney ship and sis sing on it for it's launch
