American Idol, Extra, DH and She Bangs.... Urg

Was watching Extra tonight, and long and behold there he is. The She Bang kid from American Idol singing his song. She Bang and The Bangetts (The Bangetts are his girls dancing) OK DH lost it and said watch him make a million easy now.

DH said if he does, that is it. He is going on America Idol, I told DH he could not carry a tune in bucket....lol. Now all night long all I hear is She Bangs, She Bangs. I told him enough, knock it off., etc. think he is sleeping on the couch for the first time tonight. DH said that the other song The Da Da Da also made millions and what is he doing wrong.......

Did anyone else see Extra tonight?

I understand this guy may make some money, but doesn't he realize everyone likes him just to make fun of him? DH also saw in the paper, that he was performing at his college or something, and I think he was on Ellen the other day. Funny you should mention this, cuz last night DH was imitating him, so then DD (2.5 yrs) decided this was the most hilarious thing in the world, and kept jumping up singing She Bangs the rest of the night and laughing.

He was on the Morning Show this morning too. I can't believe people WANT to hear this guy?! And some record company has actually offered him a recording contract!!!

I love William Hung! He's just so sweet! I'm also not sure he isn't just a very good actor cashing in.....
Regardless, I wish him the best during his 15 minutes of fame. There have been so many more less worthy doing the same thing. GO William!

I agree with Lucky4me; he's just cashing in on his 15 minutes of fame - more power to him! (And he may just be a really good actor - that's a point I hadn't thought of before.)

The people I work with find Mr. "She Bangs" appealing because he finished with a smile on his face and he was polite to the judges even when they trashed him. William didn't swear, didn't knock the other contestants, didn't scream or throw things. Too bad so many other rejected contestants didn't act this way.

I watch Entertainment Tonight, and earlier this week they had him on and they actually gave him some signing lessons.

He has several web sites people have devoted to him too. We saw him on ET also. I don't think his appeal is that people make fun of him, rather people admire his response to criticism. More power to him! I personally hope he gets a part on a comedy show!
DS said the kids at school like him and have begun singing that song again-it was "catchy".
