American Idol 2023

I just found out they are going to be in Baltimore in Oct for 2 nights. I see there are tickets still available, so I'm going to do a little looking. I told hubby it can be my birthday and Christmas gifts, lol.

DO go if you can. In the commercial I saw, Brian May mentioned it has been 4 years since they last toured together, and they didn't know that they would ever do another tour again.

It made me realize that with Brian at 75 and Roger at 73, this may be their last tour. Or Adam, at any time, may say he really wants to focus on his solo career. I knew I didn't want to miss this once in a lifetime chance to see them.

Don't get me wrong I wasn't nutso about Nutsa, but singing a power song after the prior performance was almost imposible.

I think it's likely the producers knew it was likely she wasn't going to make it after the votes, no matter where they put her. They see the individual performances of each contestant during their final dress rehearsals on stage. That's when they decide the order of performances. Start out strong with Tyson, end big with Iam, put We Ani after the mid-point, and make sure Warren and Colin aren't singing back to back, along with any of the other country singers. Intersperse the different genres & types of music.

Tyson, Wi and Iam were far better than others imo.

I agree. They were all really hungry and competitive in the past weeks. Yet, it seemed like some of the others peaked and were kind of lackluster.

:scratchin Maybe they misinterpreted Adam's advice. He told a lot of them to trust their instincts and intuition and just be themselves. For HIM that means being bigger, splashier, the most vibrant, spectacular self he can be. I think for him, he's someone who will always push the envelope.

Yet, for them, that might have meant go back to being comfortable. Sure, they were themselves, but they didn't seem to have a competitive edge, in my opinion.

I'm going! Cost me a little more than I wanted, but like you said, it might be the last time ever. I can't miss it!.

Zachariah headed straight for the country song.

Zachariah's really good at taking the judges' notes and running with them. I can see him being a record producer and music manager's dream to work with.

Does anyone get kicked off tonight?

There's more voting tonight. So, I think so. Unless they save it over for next week? It's been a long time since I've seen this show. But they are getting rid of contestants FAST! o_O

There will be one voted off tonight I think since voting closes during the last commercial

Haven? When she is singing soft and slow she sounds so good then she tries to power it up and the notes go all over

(yeah, like Taylor Swift)

They don't have as many episodes so everything has to go a lot faster. In years past they'd start in January and have two shows a week and take their time. Now they started later in the year and just zip through the competition so they can wrap it up by the end of the month.

Yes, but that can be developed and controlled with lessons.

I'd rather see less auditions and take more time during these rounds.

Yes, a precise example. Take the time to give Haven that coaching or lessons so we can see their growth more.

I wonder if it's part of the AI winner's contract that they HAVE to come back on AI and coach and do a song? You'd think, of course, they are grateful and they'd want to come back. It helps promote themselves as well as the show. But, Kelly Clarkson made it clear that she wanted to separate herself away from AI. So, the producers might have written that clause in after her.
