American Idol 2023

It was interesting to compare American Idol & The Voice Monday since both were on at the same time. American Idol seems too focused on who can sing the LOUDEST or hits the highest notes. I like how the Voice coaches work with the contestants and have told several that you don't need to sing at a 10 for the entire performance. I still think it is a mistake when some keep wanting to sing original songs. There is only a short time to figure out if you like their singing style and since none of us know the song they sing puts them at a disadvantage. Some who write their own material also think the song is amazing while many others won't see it that way.

Katy and Lionel were right about Colin. She said a murderer wrote that song. And Lionel said he wants Colin to get nasty. Yet, Colin lives in a small range of "nice."

His voice is basically a higher version of Warren. We don't need both of them. I'd keep Warren over Colin.
