Amazing Race 11 - All Stars (begins 2/18/07)

I'm a bit concerned. My 11 yr old DS wants team E&D to win. I'm hoping it's just because Eric is the only guy left in the race and not because he actually likes Eric.
They're probably MY last choice.


Charla and Mirna have provided plenty of moments and I do admire Charla for giving it her all AND for putting up with Mirna but I don't really want to see them win either.

They annoy me to death!!
I like Dustin and Candice, I'm rooting for them.
Eric and Danielle are ok, but they argue all the time!
(But she seems sort of pathetic and he can be very bossy and controlling)

Carlyn (or whatever her name was) was pretty nasty back, if I do recall, and was even nasty to her own teammate at times.

We are watching two different shows because I have seen very little of that on this show or the last. With regard to the two moms from the last show, they were the instigators in many of the problems. (well, one of them was .)

I may get flamed for this but I'm going to say it anyway. It always amazes me that when you have two attractive women on this show that do well, there are always other women out there ready to tear them down. for no real apparent reason.

I agree with you, declansdad. I find the discussion around the BQs kind of odd given what I've seen from them. Yes, there are women who are focused on creating a false image of perfection. Dustin and Kandace don't seem at all like that. Yes, they battled a bit with the single moms from TAR10, but, the letter they got wasn't vindictive. Given that several other teams got vindictive letters, this seemed like a sign that the relationship wasn't so bad. (Granted, the letter only came from one of the single moms but the other one was nasty to lots of people during TAR10.)

A few pages back, someone said that they wanted the BQs to have a bad hair day and fall into a mud pit. Well, there was a detour where they did just that in TAR10 and they just laughed and smiled their way through it.

They are great competitors who don't let themselves get pysched out by the competition and just play their own game to the best of their abilities.

I'm not fond of any of the remaining teams but I love the show! I can't wait for the finale just to see the action.

It's the show that keeps we coming back, not necessarily the teams.

BTW, has Phil worn the pants yet this season? I have overlooked that detail.

They frustrated me, too. It's like Oswald had no sense of urgency, he was just strolling along.

Now I've only used my GPS a few times and I'm sure it's not nearly as sophisticated as the ones they were using, but I don't think it would work very well while running. It tends to jump around with any movement. But they didn't seem to be very careful when driving. I remember Oswald said "I think maybe we should go this way." There are no maybes. If you're not sure, get out of the car and ask. That was their downfall on the last two episodes--failure to figure out where they were going.

ITA, about Dustin and Kandace. There were minor quibbles last season with the moms and the moms started it. They were completely nasty from the get-go. The only thing I fault the BQs for was trying to buy airline tickets for another team when the moms were ahead of the line. They've played this race very nice and fair (even using the Yield which--even though I don't like it--it a legal part of the game.

I will admit that I didn't like them at first (in the previous game) because of the blonde, beauty queen sterotype. I guess not that I didn't like them, but assummed they didn't have substance to stay in the game. I quickly changed my mind about them and they became one of my favorite teams last season. I will actually put them in my top 5 favorite teams. I really hope the meltdown they previewed for next week isn't as bad as it looks. But I suppose everyone is entitled to get into little fights. If that's their first and it's on the last leg, they're doing pretty well.

I agree with the previous posts.

The blondes are doing great. They treat each other with respect, and are nice to every one of the people they meet on the race.
They are cheerful, optimistic, smart and are thoroughly loving the travelling.

I hope they win.

Even on the previews it shows the other teams all tearing down the other teams and calling them names. You never see the blondes doing that.

I hated the BQs last season because they were so mean and condescending to team Kentucky, who I don't remember ever saying anything mean first (unlike the moms who dished it out as well). I guess their looks did play into my feelings, because they reminded me of those pretty bullies every high school has that are mean snobs, but get whatever they want because of their looks. But I have liked them much more this season - I think they grew from the experience last season, which not all of the teams did (i.e. Eric). I think they followed other teams' cars more last season, but this season have really done well in their goal of only focusing on their own game, not anyone else's.

Whatever bad feelings there may have been between the BQ's and Team Kentucky must have been resolved because Mary is really rooting for the BQ's to win (by her comments on Elimination Station)!

I *think* he wore them a couple of shows back, but he was wearing a jacket that went down to about mid-thigh over them. They looked to be the right color anyhow.....not that I check or anything.......

I totally agree with you. I don't see Dustin and Kandice as being fake at all. I also agree that the Moms in Season 10 were instigators in a lot of their so called conflicts. I think many women get catty when it comes to watching attractive, smart women succeed on tv. If you look at the current season of Dancing With The Stars two attractive women were immediately voted off. One a model, the other a Pageant Queen. Their dancing was good. There were others who were awful and managed to make it through each round.

I'm not sure why everyone makes D and K out to be so bad? Maybe what you see is what you get and they are actually nice, intelligent people enjoying the race.

I cant stand them either....they are so rude and condesending to people....they drive me nuts....I am glad Danny and Oswald are gone....I know I will get flamed for this but here goes....I am not gay bashing but I wish they wouldnt throw it up our face all the time....that drives me nuts....to each there on but there is still a time and place for everything....the boyfriend/girlfriend dont throw it our face....just my rant....no problem with them being gay....I dont particularly agree with it but we all dont really have to witness it do we.....

I'd rather hear them joke about being gay than watch Danielle's ****s jiggle in my face all through the show.

As for who wins I'd rather it not be Eric and Danielle, but I have a feeling that is who wins.

He has talked about Danielle's breasts constantly and is incredibly focused on throwing his "straightness" in our faces every second.

Personally, I find D&O's joking fun and find Eric's postering offensive.

Like I said i have no problem with there life choice. thats there preference but i dont like it thrown in my face. I actually thought they were a couple the way they behaved.
