I cannot believe that I still have not shared this with the Dis'ers.

As you know DD is a MASSIVE Stitch fan - last trip we bought a print from the art shop in DTD of Stitch reading the ugly duckling. We gave it to our friend who is a fantastic artist and asked him to paint it on canvas for DD's christmas present.

Below are some pictures of what he bought round on Christmas morning. As Disney fans I thought people would enjoy seeing these!

At an angle - you can see where he painted on the sides for perspective

Love it! I'm in the process of doing my own little art project at the moment aswell actually, I'm going to paint a piece of castle concept art onto a canvas :)

Thanks for all the comments it is truly an amazing and very special painting and our daughter loves it.

I will be sure to show the comments to my friend - he usually does portraits of dogs for people this was a special! I will have to find what his Facebook page for his painting and photography is - his gallery is awesome.

my df did something similar. We sneakily took a picture of something we liked in DTD and this is what he made on a canvas for me

That is a lovely Tinkerbell painting.

There is nothing wrong in copying a picture and painting it - copyright applies in cases where someone is copying and original artwork and selling it for profit. We know because people started saying he could sell the disney paintings for money and we knew that would not be permitted.

The best thing about these - is they do not cost what you would pay for a handpainted picture from Disney and are so much more personal when a friend has done it.
