Amazing Adventures of the 2013 Disney Moms Panel Search

Hey Everyone!
I'm Amy, a near-native Floridian with two fantastic kiddos, Jackson (nearly 5) and Emma (nearly 2). I'm an Environmental Scientist at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and I drive by Port Canaveral every single morning and get tortured once or twice a week by the site of Disney cruise ships.

I've honestly probably been to WDW 100 times in my lifetime. I've lived in Brevard County, FL for 30 years and have spent I don't know how many occasions at The Parks, as they are called in my family. My parents took me on my first trip to MK when I was about six months old. I've been to Night of Joy several times, sang in the Candlelight Processional when I was in high school (when it was still at the train station in MK), and I've been to Food and Wine every year since 2000. I am incredibly lucky that my favorite place on earth is only an hour drive from home and that my husband loves to go as much as I do. Both of our kids were six weeks old for their first Disney trips.

We have our first Disney cruise planned for Feb 2013 on the Fantasy where we will celebrate my husband's 40th birthday with some very dear friends.

I'm so excited to embark on this journey with all of you! The camaraderie here is incredible and the cheering on of one another was amazing last year. This will be my second year applying...fingers crossed!

Wishing everyone the absolute best of luck! I feel like I'm on the Rockin' Roller Coaster, about to get zipped off that track and hung upside down! It's going to be a wild ride!!

Well hey there "old" friends...and soon-to-be new friends...

Can't believe it's that time of year again! pixiedust:

Whew! Time flies!!

And yes, I'll be throwing my Mickey ears into the ring yet again this year.

Can't wait to do this :coffee: and some of this :grouphug: with all of you again. I've missed you guys.

:goodvibes

I will be back again.

Last year was my first year applying. I made it to round 2.

Hoping for a little more Pixie Dust in 2013 pixiedust:

Debating on applying for the panel for Disneyland or Disney World. Last year I applied for Disneyland.

Just thought I'd check in to see who has started the madness already LOL.... Cant believe it is almost that time again. This will be my fourth year applying....maybe fourth time's a charm?

I think i want to go for a DVC Mom.

I have perhaps a silly question.

When people say how many times they have visited Disney World, do you count the number of trips to Florida -- or how many days at the parks?

I am from Utah. I usually say I have been to Disney World about 50 times. But that is visits to Florida. If I count the number of days I have gone to the parks, of course it would be much higher.

So how do you count? Visits to the area -- or -- days in the Parks??

Hi Disney friends!

I am a mom to two wonderful kiddos, a daughter who is leaving for a college next week and a son, who is in high school. I work part-time at my son's school and plan Disney vacations (for myself and others) in my spare time. :goodvibes

We have been to Disney 50+ times, are DVC members (since 2002) and have been on 9 Disney cruises with #10 booked for Alaska in May 2013. I am back in again this year for my 5th time. Last year I made it to round two for DCL.

I wish everyone lots of pixie dust. I look forward to sharing this experience with you all!

I think most count actual trips not days, but it would be a fun way to look at it!

Just wanted to pop in and wish you all the best of luck! :thumbsup2

Nearly two years after joining the Moms Panel, I'm still pinching myself and expecting to wake up from this amazing dream. I can't begin to tell you how it has changed my life for the better. :goodvibes

There will no doubt be times during the application process when you will wonder if it is worth the stress, worry, and self-doubt. I assure you that it is. ::yes:: Have faith and give it your best shot. If your experience is like mine, it will far exceed any expectations you may have.

I can't wait to welcome our newest members of the family later this fall! :yay:

Best wishes,
Jill

Jill,

It's so wonderful to see the Disney Mom's Panel members root us on! I am hoping that the strees, worry and self-doubt will be well worth it for me this year. I've applied many many times and hope that this year I will be sprinkled with the Mom's Panel pixie dust!

Thanks again for wishing us the best.

Lisa

It's so great seeing everyone pop-in for the year!
I'm very excited!!!

Hi everyone! We just returned from our magical Alaskan voyage on the Disney Wonder. I can't seem to unpack those suitcases sitting in my dining room. I have lots of photos and tons of memories of this wonderful vacation, and now I have the Mom's Panel Search to look forward to next month!!! Woo Hoo!

I can't imagine how amazing that must have been! When my son is a little bit older that's on our to do list!

Does going on a Disney Cruise count for qualifying or does it need to be a vacation to the parks?

Hi Connie! I really don't know. It seems like last year's application asked for your last DLR or WDW travel dates specifically. However, if you are applying for the DCL specialty, then it would make sense to consider your last cruise dates.... I guess we will need to wait for the applications to be released.

Is it just me, or does September seem like a long way away!? :cheer2:
