Am I the only one that does not like Animal Kingdom?

I have to say that AK is one of our favorite parks! I love wandering around the park and making little discoveries here and there. We never have enough time to see and do everything that the park has to offer. My 2 year old dd loves this park too! The delight I see on her face whenever we go on Kilamanjaro Safaris is amazing. I love nature and I think the parks atmosphere is what makes me love AK so much!

To each their own, which is fine. For me, I can spend alot longer stretch of time in AK than I can at MK. AK is easier on the mind. I can take MK from opening until about 11:30-12:00, then it's time to clear out. Too many people, too hectic, especially Tomorrow Land. In some ways MK is much more the zoo than AK.

.... Finally, I quite enjoy the "quietness" of this park. Frankly (hehe, now *I"ll* get flamed) the level of noise at MK is such an annoyance to me that I can only take a half day at that park before my nerves are completely frayed.

Leaving in 5 days!!

Ahhhhhhh me too, me too. LOVE AK and really enjoy the ambiance = quietness of this park. The music lulls me into a sense of peace and the flora/fauna adds to that effect. While I'm ok with the MK it does make me crazy...almost overwhelmed feeling.

See you at Da World Unnoficial Fan. We leave on Wed.

We skipped it over Christmas and didn't miss it at all. My kids are totally into rides and would be thrilled to never have to see another 'show' - they hate FOLK and the LK movies as well. When Everest opens we'll have to go for that one but w/o hopping it will be a difficult park day to fill. Guess we'll combine it with DD and PI (pluses from old passes).

We really like the AK, but totally see it as a different kind of park. It is a place to relax and enjoy the views and each other. Def. not a commando park! I could see why some don't care for it.

No flaming from me about people not liking AK. It is my favorite park by far and I don't mind people not liking it and staying away :)

No flaming here either. I like it ok, but if I can only go to 1 or 2 parks, AK will not be one of them.

oh , this is my and dh fav. WE LOVE AK. we usually spend almost the whole day there. He wants to stay at AKL , but until we get a good dis. or code then we will. my dd and 2 friends last summer loved it to. we like
pizzfari. but to each there own. dont forget to try the trails they have alot of stuff to see to.

DAK is my 2nd favorite next to the Magic Kingdom. It is a work in progress.. and I think it is improving all of the time! Can't wait for Expedition Everest to open! It definitely boasts of the best show on WDW property... Festival of the Lion King. Two of the most original attractions on property, Kilomanjaro Safaris and Dinosaur, and the boneyard is one of the best places for little ones to let loose and have fun! It gives a terrific opportunity to expand your knowledge on vacation. The message of this park is the best.... conservation!

Animal Kingdom is truly a diamond in the rough, but is getting more polished all the time! :cloud9:

My thoughts on AK are that it has the best atmosphere and decoration of all the parks in my opinion, but it lacks content. It definitely needs more rides which they're working on. But what I was more disappointed by was the lack of animals. Sure I love tigers, but I don't need to see the same 3 tigers from 10 different angles, making me think that perhaps I might be seeing something different in this window. They seem to only have a few tigers, a few gorillas, monkies, birds, and various animals that look like deers/goats (forget what they're called). Then there's the animals that are on the safari, some of which are fake :P. Although I've had arguments with my family about the realness of some of those safari animals, but having been on the ride more than them (they've only been once) I keep telling them that the crocodiles, one of the giraffes, the 2 leopards, the lion, and I forget what else haven't moved positions any of the times I've been on the ride ;) but they don't believe me. I just think they need more trails and more animals to see on those trails in addition to more rides. The petting zoo is also a big disappointment due to the lack of animals.

I go AK when I want a relaxing day. I think it has the best atmosphere of all the parks to just stroll along and take things easy. It's not my favorite either but I enjoy spending time there when I feel like decompressing a little.

I must say that I have not seen a fake animal in the park. If any are fake, they certainly have some high-tech animatronics!!!

It's growing on me every time we visit. The first time I wasn't impressed at all, the next and enjoyed it more, and so on. It is still last on my list, however. I could miss it and not be that upset.

Once again an example of why WDW is so popular. So many different things to so many different people. My family feels kind of the same way about MK. We enjoy going there but it's not the end of the world if we miss it.

For us, that's the beauty of Disney. So much more than just rides. If we wanted that we'd go to one of the other parks that specialize in thrill rides.

All animals are 100% living and breathing. I have a friend who works at Pangami Exploration Trail who takes care of the monkey's and apes and is very versed on all of the animals throughout Animal Kingdom. There is only one that isn't real, and I am not at liberty to divulge which one. I have been when the Lions aren't laying out, and have seen them in many different positions. We have had baby giraffes walk out in front and in back of our safari vehicles, so close you could reach out and touch them. Yes, the crocodiles do pretty much lie in one place, but they ARE real! We have been going on this attraction since it first opened in 1998 and the animals are much more lively in the early morning or on very cool days... if you go on a hot day, most will just lie around as animals are prone to do when it is hot There have been live births of giraffes, elephants etc since that time, we celebrate the births of all of these animals who may otherwise become extinct. All told, my family has probably been on Kilomanjari Safaris more than 50 times, and each time is something new and different.

The Animal Kingdom is not one of my favorites, but then again none of them are. Each theme park appeals to a different part of who I am as a whole. The Magic Kingdom reflects the kid in me. I remember going to DL as a child,pre-teen and teenage. The magical memeories created with my family and friends are with me every time I set foot into the MK or DL. Epcot represents the adult in me. I love having a beer and the Rose and Crown or wine tasting at different pavilions. I love just sitting on a bench with a snack and watching people. MGM represents my life long obsession with the entertainment industry. I miss Superstar TV, The Soundstage Tour, Monster Sound Show, The Original Animation Tour and the original Backstage Tram Tour, but I still love the concept. Animal Kingdom appeals to my love of nature and the outdoors. I love storing "useless" bits of information and the AK is able to produce many of those bits for me. I am the one, by the way, at aquariums that reads all the signs and info about the marine life. I am curious by nature.
Finally, Pleasure Island and the Boardwalk reflect the drunk in me...............

I used to not like AK, but since its expanded, I LOVE it! Can hardly wait till Expedition Everest opens up, than ALL of the above will like AK than.

:earseek: Yikes, I really hope you are joking (as your use of the :P and the ;) suggests you might be) There isn't a single animal in the Reserve that isn't real

I like the attractions, actually, but think the design of the park is horrible. There is so much space for this park and yet the walkways are so narrow I get claustrophobic (and I don't go at busy times). The traffic jam at the corner of Small World and Peter Pan I can understand--when they designed MK they didn't really know how many people would be walking through there. But with AK there is no excuse for such poor traffic planning. And the park would be much improved with a couple more decent restaurants. But there are some great things to see--Lion King, Bug's Life, the Dinosaur ride, the Dinosaur graveyard, etc.

Visited AK last '03 during my honeymoon and although its still a top class theme park, I guess it doesnt compared with the other 3 WDW parks.

Not so sure why I felt this way but I didnt stay for more than half a day there yet I felt that I've been through the whole park..
