If i buy 7 night Barcelona cruise for 2 adults - for May 2020 - in 3 months... it is cheaper than booking 15 months in advance for 2021??

Is it a restricted fare? There's also the fact that new cruises (new dates) are often higher (much higher) than the equivalent ones already on the schedule.

now that i went into the reservation system further.. yes it is restricted. and i can see that a regular room would be a little more expensive than this year's opening day prices.

i'm not sure if i understand your comment on new dates/new cruises - this is the same itinerary for both years. but thank you!

The 2020 cruise is inside the 120-day PIF period, so you are starting to see special/restricted/last-minute fares. There is no guarantee you will see them for a given sailing, but I imagine that the virus fears are prompting late cancellations or pullouts.
