Am I crazy? Staying one night onsite?

So we are staying at our Marriott timeshare. I really want to stay at the Poly but don't know when we can afford a whole vacation here. I just had a lightbulb moment. What if me and DH stayed one night at the Poly? My parents will be with us so they'll be with the kids. It would cost $346.00. What time is check in? Would it be worth it for one night? One night without the kids- important fact! LOL Help me decide!

You and your dh could have a special time alone. I think it will be a great time for the two of you. Just know that once you stay onsite you may never want to stay off-site again.;)

I would definitely do it. Just staying onsite is an experience in itself. Also, the "alone" time with hubby would be great. Anytime we can do that is great for us.

I think it's a wonderful idea! I would do it too. Check in is at 3, but you could go earlier, have a nice breakfast at Kona, then relax by the pool until your room is ready. :)

Just a thought - how about one night at the Swan or Dolphin instead? They're wonderful hotels that will cost you substantially less than the Poly. They have those wonderful "heavenly beds" (I have never had a better night's sleep - no exaggeration), and the close proximity to Epcot and the Boardwalk would be lovely for an adults only evening of strolling and dining. Good discounts for the Swolphin are usually available on allearsnet.com.

Do it!

One or twelve....or twenty...any and all nights onsite are always a good thing!

That is my vote also, STAY!!! My husband and I love it when grandma can take the kids for one night and we are just at home, no where special like the Poly. You are really lucky to have one night at a great hotel (never stayed there but will someday) with a babysitter. :cloud9:

Angela,

Go ahead and do it. One piece of advice, do your 1 night at the Poly at the end of the trip. This will give you something to look forward to. Staying at the Poly the 1st night then going to the Marriot to finish your trip will be a bit of a letdown.

Steve - ~150 nights at the Poly....4 more Dec. 5

I say go for it! Anytime you have to option to stay on site..and without the kids....take it! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Definitely do it. The Polynesian is a very romantic place. One of our best stays and it was only for two nights. I'd suggest you check in as early as possible. Your room might not be ready but all your paperwork will be handled and all you have to do to call back later in the day and get your room number. You won't have to visit the front desk again. You can leave your bags and your car and enjoy the parks without the kids. Or sit by the pool. Or swing in one of the hammocks on the beach and listen to the Magic Kingdom railroad and the ferry boat whistles. Yeah, you should definitely do it.

We had dinner at my parent's last night and I mentioned how I really wished we were staying at the Poly. My mom told me to go to Hawaii and have the real thing, DH just looked at me like I was crazy or something. I didn't mention my one night idea but I'm sure DH will warm up to that if I hint how romantic it will be.
