Ok....I know this is personal, and this isn't a Dear Abby forum, but this has really upset me and I'm wondering if I have a *right* to be upset.
Last night, my ex called to ask me to drive to Sanford to drop our daughter off instead of at his grandmother's house this morning. He said that he had a birthday party that he needed to go to, and if I met him at 10:30 a.m., it would let Maddy get a little more sleep, and save him some time. Normally, I drop Maddy off at 8:30 at her great grandmother's house on Sundays. I agreed, but stressed that he needed to be there at 10:30 sharp, since it's a 45 minute drive from my house to Sanford; it would then make it a 75 minute drive to work (I had to be there at noon today). He agreed.
I get to Sanford at 10:30 a.m. and wait. He's not there. At 10:45 a.m., I call his cell phone to find out where he is. He answers and tells me that he thought we weren't meeting until 10:45. Well, regardless, it's now 10:45....where are you? He's being super sticky polite (which he never, ever is) as he tells me that he had to get his mom's car (since his isn't working) and that he had to pick up "Don" on his way to Sanford. I stress again (but politely) that I'm going to be late. He says he's coming over the Sanford bridge at that moment (about a full minute away from where I'm parked).
At 10:55, he rolls into the parking lot with his new girlfriend, Dawn . I thought it was a guy. I was really pissed because I knew he was playing this game with me to show off this new girlfriend of his, and for her to "check me out". I've never brought someone I'm dating to "meet an ex". Even when I was dating my ex husband, I never went anywhere I knew his ex wife would be, because you just don't do that (in my book, anyways). My bf doesn't come with me when I pick up my daughter, and he and I are never around each other when my ex is around.
My daughter didn't even know who this woman was, and she was really upset and didn't want to get into the car. I was torn because she was crying and screaming, wanting to come home with me. My ex was being syrupy sweet to Maddy, all the while whispering things to "Dawn".
GRRR!!! I was, of course, late to work. I am, of course, beyond angry because he pulled a stunt like this. I'm not jealous (my ex is no prize to me), but I'm so angry that he did this in front of our daughter. Do I have a right to be upset, or am I just a silly ex wife overreacting?
