Already second guessing my resort choice for Feb 2013

Earlier this week, I booked a trip to YC in February for my DS's 7th birthday. Over the weekend, I've been second guessing my choice and am considering going back to WL (which we loved) or trying a Moderate resort - POR.

All choices have their pros and cons, and I know I'm the only one who will know what is right for us but I just needed to complain about myself. :upsidedow

We thought YC would be a good choice for DS who wants to celebrate his actual birthday day in Epcot on Soarin'. DH and I also really enjoy Epcot so the proximity would be a plus, too. We booked CL for Feb because now that we have stayed inside WDW once and experienced the dining plan firsthand, we won't do the dining plan again (unless offered free) and would appreciate the morning contintental breakfast offerings (as well as the occasional snack and beer and wine).

But when I compare the pictures of YC to WL, I'm just not "feeling" the YC yet. I chose YC because we did enjoy coming back to a calmer atmosphere at WL than the parks each day of our trip this past January and I thought the descriptions I saw of YC were more serene.

DH and I have already discussed changing to CL at WL because we understand the layout and transportation options there now. And we loved the atmosphere there as well.

And then we look at POR and think what a savings to our bank accounts that could be and we could buy all of the continental breakfasts, wine, beer and souvenirs that we desired if we weren't spending the money on a place to sleep.

Sigh. I love, love, love staying in resorts, so if it were just me, I'd do a split stay and try all of them, but my DH dislikes change and is already twitching at me considering changing my mind 7 months out.

Does anyone have experience with all of the resorts I have mentioned? We do plan to spend a good bit of time in Epcot, DHS with at least 1.5 days in MK from February 23 to March 1, 2013.

We have stayed at WL twice (once in a courtyard view room and once CL), but not YC or POR (have stayed at BC, although not CL). WL CL is awesome and we loved everything about it as the food offerings were great and the CMs were awesome :thumbsup2. With that said, the Epcot area is nice and we did have a great stay at the BC. If you want to try something new, I think the YC would be a great choice for what you're looking for, especially if you will be spending alot of time at Epcot and DHS as you can't beat being within walking distance to both parks. Good luck :wizard:.

I'd stay at WL. YC is awesome and their pool is the best in WDW. I just got back from BC (which I prefer the decor over YC) and yes, it is walking distance from epcot but the entrance is in the countries part of the park. It will be hard not going back to Beach Club because we loved it so much but we seemed to ALWAYS have problems getting a bus to MK, downtown and the one time we went to blizzard beach it took us over an hour to get home. it all depends on what you want to do. I enjoyed the countries in epcot but the kids all wanted to be at MK and Hollywood. We're going to stay at the CR next time since its on the monorail and in between MK and Epcot.
