I was also trying gardengrocer a few days back and I could access it, but when I clicked on the products, nothing happened. I just tried a few minutes ago, and it is working again! :thumbsup2

Cool!:thumbsup2 I didn't know that-probably b/c we just use the quiet pool.

You can't actually see the lockers from anywhere at the pool, so a lot of people don't realize they are nearby :goodvibes

Please let us know how it works out. I'm considering using Garden Grocer for a future stay. :thumbsup2

I changed resorts for the millionth time, as I just can't stand NOT going to the Poly this time. So this is the final change. :)

Since we're doing a long trip, I'll have to do the dreaded laundry while we're there. Is there just the one laundry facility, and where is it located? Is it "safe" to walk off and leave your laundry (like run to get a dole whip and come back)?

Also, I request Tahiti, third floor. (we're doing garden view) Is this a nice location? I wanted sort of close to the TTC, but still have a nice view.

Oh, and this....I read you can get Kona food at the Kona Island thingy, can you get "to go" food from there, or from the Kona cafe in anyway, other than through room service?

There is only one laundry facility at the Poly, and it's in Tangaroa Terrace. The closest building to it would probably Rarotonga, and views from that building are nice too. You either have a view of the quiet pool or the monorail. It also puts you right near the GCH and the bus stop. Tahiti is a great building too though :thumbsup2

They have some Kona items at the bakery thingy on the second floor, but Captain Cooks is a great place to get food to go.

We're still working on the plans for our trip in July! :goodvibes (You all have no idea how badly I need this trip! LOL

Anyway, we'll definitely be only a party of 5, and not 6, so we're looking at getting just 1 room, but booking a concierge room. :woohoo:

I'm wondering if the lounge menu from Tess from last fall is the most recent listing of what's offered throughout the day. I think we'll be booking a lot of table service restaurants anyway, but we always liked to stop in for a quick "appetizer" and drink before we head to dinner.

I can't wait to go! It's going to be a family trip for our 10th anniversary; DH, DS21, DS18, DS18's GF, and myself. :grouphug: On the day of our actual anniversary we plan to spend it mostly at the resort, drinking frozen drinks at the volcano pool, and then have dinner at the castle. :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

There actually are some lockers under the volcano, and some at the marina.

I did't realize there were lockers there, either! You learn something new every day here on the DIS! :surfweb: :cool2:

P.S. HI DAVIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!! :wave2:  :lmao:

Sounds fabulous!

From what I understand the menu is still the same but there may be minor variations from time to time.

Have fun planning :wizard:

Hi I just wanted to say that I used GG on our last stay in Aug. Their groceries cost a little bit more than you usually pay but the service was great!! They left out 2 of my cereals and when I called them they brought them to me the next day. There is another thread on here though that is debating between GG and We Go Shop....apparently you give the wegoshop people a list of what you want :surfweb: and what store YOU want them to go to and they will go there and shop for you:)...I am thinking of giving this a try...I figure if you send them to Walmart or Target it might be cheaper than GG....But GG has great service...

We've used both with success. WGS charges more for delivery, so it ended up costing us more. But we got exactly the brands of things that we wanted. GG doesn't have "everything" available like a personal shopped does, though.

There's a thread on this board about problems with WGS, but I'm having lots of problems opening up some threads and that's one of them... So I don't actually know what it says...

It's about a delivery person for WGS trying to push for additional tip at a person's room.

Good to see you!!

We are due to hit the Poly for the first time during the last week of April and I am reading the Unofficial guide to Disney World. It gives a time of 54 to 75 minutes to get from the Poly to DTD using Disney transportation! YIKES! I love staying on Disney because I don't have to drive and my family loves DTD. Please help me feel better about the commute!
Thanks
John

I have read the same book...love it. I have found that their times are on the high end. Can't imagine that it would take 75 minutes! WOW! That's got to be worst case scenario. We always have our car, so traveling to DTD is pretty quick. I'll be anxious to see what other posters have to say about the actual time.

DTD is the first stop the bus makes after it leaves the Poly. Unless there are road closures, I can't imagine it taking more than 30-40 minutes max.

Using the WDW bus system I would say it takes at least 30-45 minutes, because the buses for DTD from the Magic Kingdom Resorts seem to take forever and because the Contemporary, Polynesian and Grand Floridian share bus service when going there. Now if you happen to have your own car while at WDW it takes about 15 minutes driving yourself to DTD, because that's what my family and I do since we always our own car while we are there.

Thanks for the replies folks. Would it be quicker if we were to take a bus from the TTY?
