...The marble countertop on top of the refrigerator cabinet had circles on it where folks had left drinks and had not cleaned up. The mousekeepers never did clean that. I didn't even mention this as I had already had to call twice (lightbulbs and toiletries) the first day and did not wish to be known as a complainer.

If the water rings were too bad, even housekeeping wouldnt have been able to do much for them. Marble is very pourous, and stains easily. Disney uses a special cleaner on the marble that works pretty well, but I know for a fact they have to have an outside company come in every few months with a special buffing machine that buffs out the more permanent stains.

I don't leave glasses sitting on my super cheap 2nd hand furniture at home, I don't know why people would on nice marble counters

Question....we are staying in the Hawaii building and I know that the 2nd floor does not have balconies. How does this exactly look? Can you open the doors? The pictures look like there are doors with a false balcony :confused3. Was wondering if I was really going to miss the balcony if I get stuck on the 2nd floor.

You can open the sliding glass door, and then the rail is right there on the other side of the door. We opened just a time or two for fresh air. It's funny how before the trip I was really hoping that we didn't get a second floor room, but it turns out that it didn't really matter.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was thinking, which is another reason I didn't even comment on it to the front desk. Some folks can be pretty careless with their surroundings, which I know requires more than light cleaning to resolve. Even at deluxe prices you can't expect perfection.

We leave in 16 hours! By this time tomorrow my bags will be in my room at the Poly, and we will be on Main Street watching the Parade! Hooray!

Hi Guys, great thread!

Just a quick question.. my apologies if it's been covered.. so many pages to go through...

I have shipped cases of water to the Value resorts many many times over the years.. Has anyone shipped water to the Poly? Any problems with it? I know the convention center hotels sometimes charge a handling fee. Does the Poly? Any info would be appreciated
thanks! :goodvibes

Hopefully they did it because they had no idea that leaving a wet glass on marble would leave mark - I sure didn't until I read this. Now I don't like leaving things out (grew up in NYC and am bug sensitive), but I would have treated marble like tile or granite and not thought anything of it, unlike wood.

Oh well, thanks for the "something new" I learned for today. :)

I have had boxes shopped to the Poly for all three trips with no problem. When we stayed in a standard room I just called bell services when we checked in and they located the box and brought it to our room. When we stayed CL it was actually waiting for us at the check in area and they had someone bring it up to the room :thumbsup2

wonderful news! thank you for the information! I'm going to place my order right away. :)

o.k. maybe I am crazy...but would it not cost more to ship then just order from the Garden Grocer:confused3 the weight alone of a case of water would equivalent a case of gold to me?
What am I missing???

So jealous that some of you are soooooo close to your Disney Poly trip!!! My kids honestly talk about Disney every night while eating dinner..."how much longer mom?", "when can we swim in the volcano pool?". It's always something, so I decided to order them their autograph books and Hidden Mickey book. I gave them their gifts last night. They were so super excited you would have thought it was time to leave. Of course my friends think my family is way over the top with Disney, but who cares?! We love it!

Only 4 more months!!!!!

EVeryone I know also thinks I'm way over the top too! My kitchen is even all Disney...bought a bunch of dishes and coordinating kitchenware at DTD last year so that's the first thing you see when you walk in my house! That's why I love the dis so much...most of us are over the top and proud! :grouphug:

Had to edit because I just noticed my ticker...I'm officially under a month now!:woohoo::yay::dance3::dance3::cheer2:

Us too! We have the measuring cups & stuff, mugs-I even saved the plastic mickey head plates that come with the counter service kids meal!!!! I try to buy a little at a time-but I tend to get carried away-I am supposed to bring home souveniers for others & tend to spend the money on us:rotfl:

The thing about Garden Grocer....they have a minimum amt you need to spend-so if you just want to get the case of water-you may have to pay a bit more-at least that was the policy a few years back....:confused3

lol.. no it's not even close! It costs me $7 for a case of water from costco to Disney. Shipping is free. I don't know how they do it either for that cheap. I placed my order last night and it's set to arrive the day before I do. I've done this at least 10 times before and always works great but that was always at a value resort. I wish costco offered more stuff to ship for my trips! I also do this for my daughters all star cheer trips when we fly. If I don't rent a car and there are no nearby stores at least I know the water is ready for me. Sure you can find water for $4 a case sometimes but at $3 a bottle in the parks and not having to rent a car or pay the $15 garden grocer fee and buy a minimum it's well worth it every time. :goodvibes You can also order if you are not a Costco member I think it's like 80cents more.

PS- I'd like to give the Disboards credit for this. I got this info off of here a few years ago.. I would have NEVER come up with such a good idea on my own! lol!

I ordered a case of water from Costco with free shipping it cost me exactly $4.98. We now just pack refillable bottles and filled them with the water in the CL lounge.

Finally in the double digits. Only 99 days until we go to the Poly. So much closer than when it was 320 days. I am so excited. I love Disney.

Are there lockers at the pool? I always worry about leaving my room key and whatever else I might have in a chair. I'm so paranoid that someone could walk off with it! Thanks!

Does anyone know if you can get pizza from room service? It is not listed on allears, but I was hoping it just isn't mentioned. We will have the deluxe dining plan and would love to get a pizza in the room on our pool day. Thanks
