As someone that has never stayed at the Poly (though we pretended to last trip by stopping by to hang out at the beach several times...) I need to know what is in a Lapu Lapu? I don't think I can wait till September to find out!

The lapu lapu is very good! They are very potent! Served in a hollowed out pineapple!

Lapu Lapu
Myers rum and tropical juices served in a pineapple and topped with Bacardi

hope you get hooked on the poly like we are! :hippie:

How dark and how fast is the slide in the volcano pool? We really don't like tight, dark slides. Fast is okay. Is it a long ride? Also, have you ever tried to swim on a hot summer afternoon and found the pool too crowded? We would be going in August, unless we chose the Dolphin. The deal breaker right now is the fact that we think the Dolphin has a better pool system, but the Poly has a better beach.
Lucy's Mom:confused3

I don't think the slide was very long, but I'm not sure how dark it was. I didn't find the pool that crowded in late July. We would go to the pool in the afternoons and while there were a good number of people there, it was never that bad. It was full, but not overwhelming.

I've stayed at both. The Dolphin's beach in nice, but I think what's most special about the Poly beach is the backdrop. I have the most amazing pictures of my nieces playing in the sand with the castle behind them.

I think the Dolphin could be any nice beach/pool, at any resort, anywhere. The Poly's beach/pool is classic Disney. The whole atmosphere is very special.

Caveat: If you or anyone in your party is really into the beach/pool bar - the Dolphin is worth considering. We were there in the fall. Spacious, lots of tv's, great deals on beer/drinks on Sundays (at least in Sept).

Since we are on the topic of Disney transportation, I have a few more questions...:)

1) How long does it take to get to Animal Kingdom in the mornings on the bus?

2)How about DS? I am most concerned with DS because we only plan one day there, yet we LOVE TSM and know if we don't get there at rope drop, we may only get to ride it once. I hope to catch the bus and make it by rope drop. Is the bus from Poly or the TTC going to be quicker? How long does it take? I think UG said 20-40 minutes....

3) This may be a silly question, but what order does the resort monorail pick up guests? I am "thinking" it is GF, Poly, TTC, CR and then MK in that circle but I can't remember from our last trip. We took the monorail to Poly for dinner from MK and it seemed we went in that order but now I can't remember????:confused3

1) Last week it took us about 15 minutes by bus to get to AK. We did wait for a while before the bus came, but I honestly did not count how many minutes we waited because I was just caught up in being there. :goodvibes

2) DHS was about the same, maybe a little shorter ride. When I want to get to DHS for the Toy Story Trot, my strategy is to be at the resort bus stop by 8am. This works from every resort I've stayed at.

3) The resort monorail leaves the TTC, then stops at the Poly, GF, MK, and CR. I :lovestruc the monorail!

Hi all,

I'm back on the Poly Faq's thread after a few stays at other resorts. I was going back and forth trying to decide where to stay for our upcoming Spring Break trip, and kept going looking at Poly pics and listening to Poly music....

You can guess what happened next...

I was really trying to be financially responsible this trip and even used our DVC points for our ressies. But then tonight I completely lost all of my reserve and booked Poly CL! :dance3:

So now I'm  and can hardly wait!

We're booked for GV CL and boy am I looking forward to sitting by the pool reading a good book while listening to that lovely Poly background music. :cloud9:

Looking forward to catching up on this thread! :goodvibes

Thank you for the helpful answers! Last year we staid at the BC we were always at the bustop before 8 AM. Not a problem. Just wanted to make sure we would make it on time. TSM is an absolute must for us!

Thanks also for the info on the monorail. I am planning several meals for our family back and forth between MK/GF and MK/CR and I wanted to make sure I had most of the details clear and knew our options for transportation!

Last May I was a big dork and had us waiting in the rain for a bus to BC from DS! My husband had a good laugh at me!!! "I thought you would have known that there were no buses to BC from DS with all that planning you do...." he said!! I sure don't want that to happen again!!!:rotfl::rotfl: :lmao: Especially since it was LATE EMH and we had to ruuuuun to the boat, then ended up missing that one (it was full) so had to wait for the next one!!! oops:scared1:

:rotfl: I think we were both there last Spring Break -- and guess what? After going to a few other resorts since then, we're headed back to the Poly for Spring Break 2010 also!
