The TPVCL (f/k/a LVC) are the best on the resort property. I like Tahiti, but the added service at CL, the location of the longhouse, and the terrific views make Hawaii a preferred location for me. :lovestruc

Thanks, Tess. And I have to keep reminding myself, if I choose TPV - I would not be sure to get Tahiti anyway. But if I choose TPVCL - we would get Hawaii, right? I just don't want one of those 2nd floor rooms.....at least with Tahiti, I know I would have a balcony.....but again, I might not get Tahiti. As you can see, my brain is playing ping pong with all of these decisions!!!

Hi it's a little off topic but you guys are the nicest people I know sooooo

My ? is I have a Disney Visa...I have never redeemed any reward dollars...can I wait until I go to Disney to get the redemption card? I am asking cause it will be my FIRST redemption card ever so I didn't know if there were special rules for that:) AND if I am able to do that will the card be loaded right away or will it take a while? Cause if it takes a while I will just have it come to the house...I was trying to avoid that cause then I will head to the Disney store:rolleyes1 and I am trying to save it for our Aug vacay at the Poly:cool2:.

Unless it has changed, you can go to guest services at the MK and they can give you your Rewards card there. I can't remember if I had to call to load it or activate it but it was obviously easy or I would have remembered!

Have a great time! We'll be at the Poly in August, too.

Actually if you have never received a redemption card you HAVE to order it and have it sent to your house. I just ordered mine and they said it could take up to 2 weeks to get it. Now, if you ALREADY HAVE a card, then yes, you can go to guest services and have more rewards money added to it.

Thank you to everyone for all the fabulous pictures!!! I have way too long until I am there! :sad2:

I felt like you before our trip last fall - heart set on Tahiti (we'd booked TPV, non CL). We were so disappointed when we found out we were in Tuvalu ... that is until we actually arrived at our room. Because there is no beach between Tuvalu & the lagoon the rooms really look/feel like they are right over the water. Also, the view of the GF just to the left is beautiful, esp. in the early morning. To the right is the dock for the small launches with the castle in the middle. At night you can sometimes softly hear the music from the luau off in the distance. And even the second floor rooms have balconies!

Lissiesmum can back me up on this :lmao: (though once again, I don't know why I'm letting others in on this great secret! I guess I don't like the bum rap my fav longhouse gets!)

I also agree about Tuvalu. On out last trip we were given the choice between Tahiti and Tuvalu. Since Tuvalu was near to the GCH, we chose it. We did have a second floor room (no balcony, which we didn't miss) and the TPV was fabulous. The EWP came real close to the room. I would highly recommend Tuvalu.

:scared1: Sorry for passing on bad info - I was sure there was balconies on the second floor!

Check out the new shirts and dresses at the Disney Store. On our last trip, we enjoyed going out with everyone in the same hawaiian patterned shirts and dresses. We had to get them off ebay to get the right sizes and match, but Disney Store has a new set every Spring and they seem to sell out fast.

Link to New Clothes at Disney Store

Well, I can't imagine by husband and three boys (12, 10 and 7) wearing matching Hawaiian shirts but did you see those Mickey sandals for women? I must have them! Thanks for the link!

 Hopefully you can make it back there soon! :)

Thanks for the hug, Kaffinito! I really need it lately. Coming back from this trip has hit me really hard. It was our third trip to WDW, and I feel like we just didn't have enough time. I would definitely have to say it was the theme park view. Tuvalu spoiled me for life, and it doesn't matter what window I am looking out these days...I'm wishing I'm back looking out my sliders at the castle and dreaming of Wishes! :cloud9:

You are better then me. It takes me about 2 months to get back on the boards when I get back due to my PPDD

I was back here the night I got back from my trip! :lmao:

Let's say that CL is not a factor. In your opinion, which longhouse has the best location & the best TPV? Hawaii or Tahiti? Depending on what I find out after I do my taxes this weekend, there might be a Hawaii TPV in my future.....however, if many of you say you like Tahiti over Hawaii, it would be hard to justify. I seem to remember Dawgdad saying her liked the Tahiti longhouse better than Hawaii..... decisions....decisions.....

Don't leave out Tuvalu!

Lissiesmum can back me up on this :lmao: (though once again, I don't know why I'm letting others in on this great secret! I guess I don't like the bum rap my fav longhouse gets!)

:rotfl: I was going to the say the same about you Maiapapaya!

I loved everything about Tuvalu, and would stay there again in a heartbeat. I had the chance to walk around the whole resort, and I definitely liked the view better than the Tahiti end, and I liked the close proximity to the GCH and being close to the marina was a nice, relaxing walk every day. There is nothing blocking your view anywhere from your room...no trees to the right or left, and the EWP is right in front of you every night (although it didn't come out one night when it rained). You also have the music from the SOA show most nights, and the monorail is really close by and we loved watching it come around behind Aotearoa and head into the GF station, then follow it all around through the MK, then the CR...Tuvalu is just amazing!
I'm like Maiapapaya...I just can't understand why Tuvala is not a heavily requested longhouse for TPV! :confused3

All this talk about great views and different longhouses makes me want to call and remove my request for tokelau and just see what happens.

My DH admitted that this is why he didn't want to go back to WDW this year - he was too depressed after our trip last fall. Fortunately a 40% pin and persistent wife knocked some sense into him! :rotfl:

I can totally understand why you thought this, maiapapaya! ALL of the longhouses APPEAR to have balconies on the 2nd floor, but most are only facades. The only longhouses with balconies on the 2nd floor are the 3 "newer" ones - Tokelau, Rapa Nui and Tahiti (which is the only longhouse with TPV balconies on the 2nd floor). I think perhaps people request Tahiti more than Tuvalu because 1) the rooms are bigger, 2) double sinks, 3) guaranteed balcony or patio, and 4) close proximity to TTC.

Just wanted to share that small world vacations found me a discounted room at the Poly for our family trip in May  They have been just fantastic! I'm so excited and cannot wait
One question though, are there any water slides at the Poly?

Well Tuvalu is nice and close to the GCH ... which we actually thought was more of a benefit than being close to the TTC (IMHO, but we spent a lot of time at the MK). But that's fine with me ... everyone should go for Tahiti ... leaves more availablity for us and lissiesmum in Tuvalu! :rotfl2:

Congratulations on your great rate!

Yes, there is an AWESOME slide at the main volcano pool. It actually goes through the volcano, is mostly enclosed, and the inside is usually illuminated with a red light to simulate a lava floe (sometimes the light is off and it's completely dark). There's also a zero-entry on the beach end, with a stunning view of Cinderella Castle across the lagoon. My family ADORES the volcano pool! Alas, there is no hot tub!

It was completely dark when we were there, I just thought that's the way it was. The red light would have been cool - I had no idea! Lesson number two for today! :lmao:

If I had a choice (which I don't because we are doing GV), I would request Tuvalu in a heartbeat!!! As it is, I've requested Fiji for my GV, because I just LOVE that "older", or should I say "more mature" ;) side of the resort!! Can't beat the proximity to the GCH, marina (which we plan to use this time), pool, and Captain Cooks for our mugs and snacks. Plus the EWP is so dear to me, and there's a MUCH better view of it from Tuvalu than Tahiti!

Are there patio rooms in Tuvalu that are TPV? Any idea what that would be like? Does anyone have a pic of a patio view from Tuvalu?
