ALOHA! The Polynesian Resort Information Thread: Summer 2011 Edition!

Yea have them try again. I had to keep trying to upgrade ours but finally got it. If it was with a discount code that is expired they will have to call guest services to check it because other than that it will show unavailable. And if it isn't available I would call Disney directly and check to see what is available and if you have to rebook with Disney and cancel with your agent. Send me a PM.... I am a Disney Travel Planner and would be happy to help you figure this out... for free yes. :thumbsup2

Thank you you are so sweet!! I am sort of stuck though because she is a friend of ours.

Dear Poly Gods....if you are going to make me sick, can you at least make it the kind that will let me drop 10 lbs. before vacation!!! Oh yeah, and without excersing - I don't have time to do that!!!! :thumbsup2

Almost done with 2 weeks of antibiotics and still hacking....I need Florida sun NOW!!!

So photopass is ordered, ordered the dvds for the camcorder through Amazon - $11.70 on Amazon for a 3 pack and Best Buy wanted almost $30!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Then of course while I was on they had the cutest Rapunzel shirt for DD5 that I just had to get.

And now of course DD15 saw this ....I'll have to get this for her!!!!

Oooooh soooo jealous of everyone leaving soon!!! I have 303 days till I'm at the Poly...it's going to be the longest 303 days EVER. Help me get through this!!! :rotfl2:

We are planning on going next October 2012 either to the Poly if I can get a discount of some kind, if not we will go to CBR I think. Such a long wait :( !

Just back from our first visit to Poly CL. It was amazing. The staff was super helpful with setting up for my sons birthday party and went out of their way to help us. I can not imagine why there are any complaints about the staff in CL. They were great. We had room 3505 with a head on view of the castle and a full balcony. I have absolutely no complaints it was a great 1st birthday celebration for our friends and family. I think the Poly might be my new favorite hotel. Oh and I just discovered the pool has jets in it at one end. Not quite a hot tub but it does the trick after a long day at the park. If you are on the fence book CL it was worth it to us. Watching wishes from the lounge was really relaxing and the desserts didn't suck either. LOL. Next time I might just save the cash and go with garden view because we truly were never in the room at night and we could watch the fireworks from the lounge so that would be my only change.

Thanks for the review! I LOVE the jets in the pool! I am not keen on hot tubs so the jets in the pool are awesome - especially because you want to stay cool (at least in the warmer months).

BTW...did the SOA tonight .... And it was great :thumbsup2

Good to hear! I have not tried the show yet but we have plans for our next visit. I can't wait!

We are staying one night at POR before moving to the Poly for 7 nights. How do we go about getting our luggage moved to the new room? We are surprising our kids with staying at the poly!

First off: :welcome: to the Polynesian thread.

How are you getting to the Polynesian from POR? If you are taking a taxi, it's easy--take the luggage with you. If you aren't, simply have Disney move it for you.

On the day you check-out of POR, drop your luggage at bell services and request that it be transferred to the Polynesian. Bell services will transport it at some point through the day. You probably will not receive it before 3:00 p.m. If there is anything you need, be sure to take it with you.

If you are being transported by taxi or other private vehicle, simply take your luggage to bell services upon arrival at the Polynesian. If you are lucky enough to have a room available to you at check-in, you can have them deliver it right away. If not, bell services will store it for you until your room is available. When you return to your room, you will call bell services and the luggage will be delivered to you in the room.

Obviously, if you are driving yourself, you may leave your luggage in the vehicle until the room is ready and transport it yourself if you wish to avoid the tipping aspect. ;)

Hope that helps and you have a wonderful stay at the Polynesian! :yay:

I'm having the same problem - I would like to extend our stay for one more night but the CM said there is nothing available using my pin. When I asked if there was a night available without the pin she told me she didn't have that information:confused3

I have not been to the Poly since they implemented the cutback in hours on the monorail. For those that have attended the halloween party at MK this fall, how did you get back to the Poly?

How long is the monorail running until on MNSSHP nights?

Does the Poly/MK ferry run during the whole party?

Is there a bus to the Poly from MK?

Thanks!

We were there on the 16th and the ferry ran all throughout the party. Monorail stopped running at 10:00 or 10:30. The ferry stopped at the Grand Floridian first and then the Poly and was packed to the max. We waited for 2 ferries before being able to board one. We didn't bother to check on the bus since the ferry was right there as we were leaving.

Do you mean the resort launch? I thought the ferryboat only went between the MK and TTC.

Arrived today. As wonderful as we remembered it. TPV 2nd floor Tahiti-couldn't have asked for more perfect room! Wishes tonight from our balcony. No housekeeping issues. Room perfect. No maintenance issues so far. CM at check in lovely. Bell services was great-held our carryons since room not ready. We committed inadvertent faux pas-didn't know about the new procedure where you get off DME & wait to be escorted in by a CM. We had no idea why everyone was just standing there so we went around & just walked in. I'm sorry if we offended anyone. Anyway, quick buzz around MK, bite to eat at Pecos Pete's, nap, dinner at the Wave.

Well just to be sure I would at least check with disney yourself. The only downfall is you can't use your reservation because they won't speak to you since you are booked through an agent. However, they could at least tell you what is available. I would hate to think as a friend she wouldn't want you to change but you kinda have to know what to ask the CM's when you call.

Well, I mean, honestly...TPV CL trumps any friendship. ;)

LOL! I agree! :goodvibes

If your pin is expired you will need to ask the CM's to call guest services because if they try to pull it up in their system it will show nothing available. Guest services has to check for expired pin changes and alot of people don't know that. And unfortunately I have encountered MANY CM's who don't want to do the extra work. :sad2:

We fly in tomorrow and will be at the Poly around 1pm or so!! Can't wait!
Hope I remembered to pack everything!

Glad to read that we are supposed to wait after getting off Magical Express! I didn't know that! Back in 2008 when we stayed there we just walked up to the desk.

I am confused.. :confused3 What is this whole procedure about not walking right into the Poly and having to be escorted by a CM??? Not that I mind, just curious as to what its all about??

If you are staying Club Level you don't check in at the desk in the GCH, you are escorted to the Hawaii building for check in.

I can finally post this.....

I'm doing the single digit dance!!
:woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay::cheer2::cheer2:

At this time, 9 days from now, our plane will be descending into Orlando and shortly after that we will be checking-in to Poly CL!

This will be our 3rd stay at the Poly in CL, our 5th stay there overall. Can't wait!! :goodvibes:cloud9:
