Wondering if anyone has had a problem with people smoking on their patio/balcony & is management responsive to complaints? It's really nasty. At least my asthmatic DD is not with us.
BUT Wishes from my balcony is awesome!!

I have never had any issues with people smoking outside the smoking areas anywhere at Disneyworld including the Poly. I have never seen or smelled anyone smoking from their resort balcony BUT that's not to say it doesn't happen.

We're sitting in our cabana enjoying every minute of it. We can get the free wifi they're testing out from here. Our attendant has been awesome. She brought us a pack and play for the baby who is currently taking a nap in it. In 10 minutes I will be sending our attendant for a few drinks!

Wait! What free Wi-Fi?? They are testing free Wi-Fi at the Poly? Do you know how long they are going to be doing this? Is it available in the longhouses or just in the lobby & pool areas?

Will have to get more info on the alleged changes when utilizing DME. Specifically the comments about exiting your DME bus and having to wait to be escorted into your resort by a CM. I am not liking that. When I arrive, I am ready to get my vacation going. I do not understand the need to wait for everyone to exit the bus and get their bags and families together before we can approach check-in. I would think that this procedure would only increase people's waits at check in. I have never witnessed anyone make a mad dash for check-in. People enter at their leisure and line up accordingly. When I arrive at the Poly, I want to enter at my leisure and at my own pace. I pay an arm and leg to stay there and feel I have the right to enter when it is right for me. Right for me is as soon as I have my bags. I have never once ran, although I am bubbling over with excitement every single time I get there. Not liking this at all. So glad my husb and I always rent a car and that I only take DME for my girls trips.

Ugh!!!! Lesson learned....was frustrated about trying to upgrade my park hoppers to an AP to try and see if I could get a discount for our last night and some people were just RUDE. Should have just come to my friends on the Poly thread. You would have been more informative and not so judgemental. Why do people feel the need to be be so caddy in their responses??? I am not hear looking for an arguement.


Anyway, no such luck I will just wait to upgrade when we get there.

As for smoking (sorry for not qouting)...I am allergic to cigarette smoke and I am married to a smoker. Anyway, he doesn't smoke near me and has to air out before getting to close. Last year someone was smoking by the pool, to close and by not in a DSA. I said something to the lifeguard and he just shruged and went on with his day. The smokers walked away on their own accord. Not sure if any of them take it seriously....

We have stayed at the Poly before and absolutely LOVE the resort . We are booked for our first Poly CL stay in December (which I'm very excited about), but I have been reading alot of reviews about the food not being replenished, the CMs less than accommodating, dishes not cleaned off the tables, etc. I can't wait to try CL there (have stayed WL CL, GF SL, & GF RPC), but I'm a little nervous about the negative reviews I've been reading regarding the lounge and food offerings. I would appreciate any input/opinions anyone can give .

We are going again in November and staying CL. Our past experiences have always been wonderful. We haven't been since last November so hopefully someone who has been recently can answer. Never had a problem in all our stays there with the food or the staff and the lounge is always clean. I clean up after myself, just a habit. It does bug me though when kids make a huge mess and the parents just walk off and leave it. . If you want something like yogurt in the morning and you don't see it, just ask a CM and they will get it for you. Same goes for beer or wine before 5 - just ask. Is the food as good as it was when Chef Dick was there? Sorry to say it isn't, but it still is tasty. Enjoy!

If I had changed resorts, we would have missed out on one of the best Disney trips we've ever had. So I'm thinking CL is worth a try, especially since we won't know if it's for us unless we try it. We stayed CL last summer and also found it to be excellent. There was lots to eat and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We can't wait until next August when we will be going back!

Thank you . Before our first Poly stay in 2007, I read alot of not-so-good reviews about the resort overall and started second guessing staying there and almost changed resorts. But then after thinking about it, I decided we needed to try it for ourselves to see if WE liked it. We ended up falling in love with the Poly the minute we checked in. If I had changed resorts, we would have missed out on one of the best Disney trips we've ever had. So I'm thinking CL is worth a try, especially since we won't know if it's for us unless we try it. It is nice to hear other people's opinions and I appreciate your positive opinion/review......thanks again .

I know what you mean. We've only stayed at the Poly once, but that was enough to get us hooked . I have taken 2 girls trips and 1 family trip to the GF and while the GF is a beautiful resort and I had great stays all 3 times, there's just something about the Poly that gets me. I actually missed the Poly all 3 times I've stayed at the GF. My DH and DSs thought the GF was ok and even though we had a great stay, the consenses was the Poly is where they would rather stay .

Thanks.....and I hope you and your family have a great Christmas trip as well . What dates will you be there? We will be there 12/19-12/23. I have two in high school and their Christmas break doesn't start until 12/22, so I didn't have much to work with as far as dates in order to keep them from missing too much school. My youngest doesn't like to miss more than a day or two at a time (which I understand) and neither one wants to be gone over Christmas Day, so we decided to come home 12/23. That will actually give me time to get situated back home before Christmas Day . It seemed so far away when I first booked back in February, but it's not that far away now......it will be here in no time .
