Has anyone ever stayed at the poly the 1st week in February? How busy was it? Will there be anything special going on that I should look for? Thanks.

This is our third year going end of Jan/beginning of Feb because we love it so much (and it's our kids' bdays). It's relatively quiet for Disney and it's never too hot. In fact, make sure you bring layers because it can get chilly at night (which I love). The downside is sometimes they close certain rides for maintenance because it is such a quiet time, but we've never found it a problem.

Just sharing a few room view pics from our trip last month. We booked Garden View and were given 3rd Floor Tokelau facing the quiet pool. I believe we were room 3947. It was perfect....central location, quiet but not too quiet, and beautiful.

I'm right there with you Breezy'sMom - we got home late Friday night and I'm missing the Poly terribly. The 9 days went by in a blur. Everything was wonderful!!! Real life not as fun lol

we are leaving friday! first time the kids will be at disney. dh and i haven't been since we were little. i stayed at the contemporary as a kid but still remember SOA. can't wait!!!!

Well, we are down to days now for our first non August trip to the world. Actually, my DW and DD were in Disney back in mid August to drop of our DS who is currently doing an internship. Dad had to stay home and work and watch the dog (her name is Minnie, after guess who ?) . So this will be our first Christmas time trip and we can't wait. Mele Kalikimaka !! (Merry Christmas in Hawaiian). Here's Minnie (she is Not making the trip):

I know...I still have a basket filled with our warm weather clothes that still need to be laundered The suitcases are still lying around in the laundry room and the Halloween decoration bins are in the front hallway awaiting to be stored away with the suitcases!

Poor Minnie! Imagine how our little doggie Poly feels about not being able to join us on our trips!

I love WDW during the holiday season! It really is beautiful like I said above! Disney decorates just about anything that does not move Even now, three years later when we see a great holiday display we all say "Disney does it better"

Hello All!

Just booked a Polynesian Garden View room for January 17th. Great rate of $243.00 including the tax!

With that said, can anyone post their BEST garden view room "views", lol! Just saw the one above and it's beautiful. Any tips will be appreciated. Last time we were at the Poly was September 08, so we are looking forward to this trip.

We leave on Friday too! Our flight gets into MCO at 9:30...hope to be in the MK by 11:30/12:00. This is my first stay at Poly since 1974!! But I have been to Disney many times since that!!! This is actually our third trip this year!
Looks like we are in for some good weather.
I am procastinating from packing right now. I have absolutely nothing packed!! But all the laundry is done...so that's good, right?

Our next trip will be my first time staying at the Poly since I was 13. So excited! One question though....I called to put a request for a pack n play for DD on my reservation. However, the CM said there are already pack n plays in each room at the Poly. Is this true? I thought you still had to request them?

That is news to us. Never saw one in the room when we were at the Poly. But, it has been 4 years.

We've stayed at the Poly three times in the last 2 years and no pack and play in our room ... we were in Hawaii

No, request a pack n play at check in, if they don't have it noted. They forgot to put ours in our room, but brought it immediately when I called.

For those of you going soon....lots of pictures please!!! This will be our first time in 6 years not being there over the holidays and I am going through withdraw (even though we were just there in October). However, I would love to see some holiday pictures of the Poly. It looked so bare in October compared to how it looks with all of the Christmas decorations.

The weather looks like it is going to be beautiful, so enjoy. Right now I am just praying for the discounts for June 2012!!!! Oh, and for Christmas so I can finally start talking Disney to my kids again!!!!

We are booked!!!! First time ever at Poly!!! SO terribly excited!!! We will be there May 17-27. Eating at 'Ohana for breakfast and dinner!! And I can't wait to try this elusive lapulapu!

Here right now!!! Yay!!!
Got here Friday morning 10:30am and got my request plus our room was ready. We are on the 2nd floor in the Tokelau building. Room is really nice and we got the connecting room with my parents. Room is in good shape and we really like how big the rooms is. We have had beautiful weather so far.
We got a great big heaping of pixie dust on Friday night... free tickets to the Christmas party for all 6 people in our group! We were exhauste from getting up at 4am to travel here but free tickets is free tickets and we stayed for the party. It is a really cool story how we were gifted these tickets and I will have to post later...I am exhausted and falling asleep typing this!
