What time do you gals get into MCO? Maybe we'll run into you! We all arrive at different times - 9:30am, 10:30am & 12:45pm.
We have a direct flight on the 30th from syr to mco with jetblue that lands at 630pm. :yay:

I am letting ME take our luggage ( I usually drag myself) and hope to arrive in time for desserts in the CL lounge. :thumbsup2

Then off to MK for FP+ SWMT,Splash and Space Mtns:banana:

We will be on the beach each day 1-4 ish. DD will be the pretty young one in a bikini (oh to be 19!) and I am the gently aged ;)50 year old celebrating her birthday with this trip as a gift from DH:love:

IF see us say Hi! Lys and Trish

Another quick update. One wall in now up around the waterfall in the downstairs lobby. So sad. Looks like Kona Cafe is still open. They just covered it up for the work last night

We're hitting MK til closing on Friday night too. We're a group of 40-50-ish ladies as well, and it's not beneath us to go up & down the beach one day calling your names!!!! LOL!!

Well, just jumped ship :( moved to GF. I really wanted to stay at poly even with construction. But no feature pool for 2 week stay in August did me in. We always take a mid day break at resort to swim & cool down. But we will go visit. Must have Dole Whip!!

After a family meeting we have decided to jump ship too. :guilty:
I'm on hold with Disney now to switch to GF in October. I am so sad. We adore the Poly and have always stayed there but there is just too much going on.

I would've done the same thing and moved to GF. We can handle all of the construction going on, but the main pool being closed would be a deal breaker for us. You will have fun at GF, I'm sure -- I've been trying to book there for the last 2 trips but can't seem to secure a main building CL room, though from what I understand it will be closed for refurb during the July 4 holiday (which is when we are going....).

I know. It's bitter sweet. Sad not to be staying at a Poly, but 14 days in the heat of August with only East pool was just too much. But, we love GF. Stayed there last August for first 2 days of trip to see if we'd like it, without huge commitment ;) and loved it! So looking forward to a longer stay now that we know we love it!

We have just got back from our vacation. We were able to visit the Poly two days of our vacation. One day we went to the Luau and the other we had family pictures taken and then the character breakfast. We were originally planning on staying at the Poly but the construction scared us away. I have to say I really never even noticed the construction while we were were there. Grant it we never went over to the side of the beach were the construction was going on but the other side of the beach and walk ways by the luau were beautiful!!! The lobby still looked beautiful to us and surprisingly the waterfall was still active both days we visited. The unfortunit part for people with upcoming vacations is you do not know what is going to happen there and seems a day by day thing. We easily could have stayed there and the construction that was going on would have never took away the beauty of the resort for us. I am not in the least bit disappointed though. I was very pleased with our resort and we saved a fortune yet we still were able to enjoy the Poly as well. Kind of the best of both worlds. I am very greatful to have had the chance to visit the Poly before the waterfall and pool will be removed.

Sue, we are in the same boat. Just switched to contemporary. That one day at a waterpark was a joke. Sad that we won't be at poly though.

Wow!!! SO COOL!!! We also had Daniel. We loved it!!!! What time was your shoot? I would not be surprised if we were there when you guys were!!! We had a 8:00am photo shoot on the 18th as well. How was your vacation?

We just received a letter stating Captain Cooks will be closed during our stay. :(

Are you sad because the original CC's is closed or think none open?

There is a temp cc open with pics posted on a few websites including tikiman's facebook page.

I don't mind getting the temp location. I like to take it "to go" back to my room or outside anyways.

Is it closed totally? Or just moved in the temp place like pp said? I hope the temp place isn't closed.

The original CC is closed and there is a temporary location in the GCH. It will be open until the new CC opens. Tikiman said the new CC is scheduled to open in July or earlier. I think the letter August visitors are getting still says it will be in a temporary location though.

Regardless, there will be a QS location open and available all summer.

That's what I thought. I got a little nervous with the wording of the other post. I was afraid it was gone all together! The temporary place has tonga toast right? Hopefully the real cc is open when we arrive in July! That would be a plus !!

Does the temporary location have the Dole Whip machines?!?!?!
We will be there in 16 days!!!!! And that was one of the things we were MOST looking forward to!

Edited to add: Just found out - NO DOLE WHIPS! and no grown up grilled cheese sandwiches either. BOO! But they DO still have tonga toast. And pulled pork nachos.
