We will be there in 2 days....I'd love to be able to see the waterfall running just one more time. I wish they didn't have to wall off all four sides at once...I get why they do it, its just such an eye sore to see all four walls up.

Well at least you will see the volcano pool. That will be gone late summer.

Have a great trip! Keep a beach chair warm for me. I'll be there soon too:cool1:

While I think Blizzard Beach passes are an excellent gesture, I feel many families use the pool multiple times within their stay and the quiet pool will not be sufficient space for everyone. Hopefully Disney can figure something out.
And hopefully, you and your family won't have any problems going to the pool together!

Right, if weather permits, we typically swim daily. The BB passes aren't really something we want. We cannot be the only ones who want access to a 'main' pool for our stay. Really hoping Disney figures something out.

No, you're not the only one! I think they could open up both GF & CR pools, to take some of the burden off just having all Poly guests just going to Gf.

Regarding the pool closure, I do think the BB passes are a great idea and a better alternative to over-crowding the GF pool. I think Disney should consider adjusting the # of days for the BB passes, maybe even add in TL as an option too. Example being if the length of stay is 1-4 nights, then give 1-day pass. 5-7 days then give a 2-day pass, and so on. I will say that my family likes to swim for short periods each day, and a quiet pool would be too much like home, so we would not stay at any resort during a main pool refurb. So even with the current BB offer, we'd stay somewhere else.

I agree! We have a 14 day stay in August, and 1 BB day just isn't going to do it.
I think they should re think the pool closure. Who closes a pool mid summer :confused3

I agree. With a lot of the Poly buildings closed, the resort will be far from capacity. Splitting the guests between the GF and CR makes perfect sense. It's still a hassle to load your kids and belongings up to go to either of those pools but at least gives a closer option.

As much as I wanted to stay at the Poly and feel this is my one shot to do so, I think we may change to CR or GF.

As more construction updates come a long, I keep reconsidering my stay at the Poly in August. We were fine with the option to go to other pools, but I definitely have no interest in a one day water park ticket instead. The one thing that keeps me holding on to the Poly is the easy access to monorailing directly to MK and Epcot. Do any of the other monorail resorts have as easy access to both MK and Epcot?

Well the monorail from CR to transfer to Epcot Monorail is pretty easy. The pools there are always less crowded compared to others and you can walk to MK which can be helpful after parades and fireworks.

I agree. I was ok with being shuttled to gf but one day at the waterpatk in august just does not cut it.

Just wanted to update everyone. I just left the Poly tonight at 11:25 and on the second floor they have a soils wall around the the water feature. They were also painting it and when I left had had the sushi bar all covered up. Main level was untouched so far. Got in a few last pictures :(

I have not been back to the Poly since September and wow there sure are a lot if changes going on. We leave tomorrow and won't be back til end of November for our BLT stay. I bet it will be totally different then.

IMO Poly has the best option for Epcot as you can walk to TTC instead of waiting for 2 different monorails. We like to take monorail from a Poly to MK in morning, then boat back.

Of the GF and the CR, CR has the best access to Epcot b/c you get on the monorail at CR and take it to the TTC where you will hop off that one and transfer to the Epcot monorail. It's not quite as easy as walking from the Poly to the TTC but close. And as another poster mentioned, you walk to the MK from CR. It's a 15 min'ish, very easy walk.

If you are staying at the GF, to get to Epcot, you'll need to get on the resort loop monorail and take that to the TTC. From there, you'll switch to the Epcot monorail. The resort loop will stop at the MK and at CR before it gets to the TTC so there is extra time needed for that. Getting to MK is very easy as you just board the monorail and the first stop is MK or take the boat to the MK.

Thanks for the update Wanna be Ariel. I was wondering if you felt the resort being under so much renovation would have a negative impact on a stay there next month. At least from what you saw there. We are considering changing our reservation for the the first few days to Poly since we always wanted to stay there and usually cannot find space. Afraid once all is said and done we definitely won't be able to. Any insight would be helpful. We would only stay if they had Club level( if that makes any difference) TIA

:thumbsup2
