FWIW, a CM just told me that Tahiti would be reopening a week from tomorrow.

Is anyone going to be around to check it out?

I have to wonder if the CM was referring back to when the Tahiti Refurb was due to begin 7/14 which would have had it being completed by 9/14?

I'm sure he was... Too many things that contradict his statement are floating around! Probably just wishful thinking on my part...

So everyone is always saying how anyone can go to the beach and watch fireworks..

LOL I think they need to make this sign larger and maybe in neon so people will see it. I also think they need to do room key checks every day and not just on weekends.

Hello.. Can a cousin of mine visit me at the Poly? And if she can how would the parking situation work?
Thanks

Yes a guest can visit you at the Poly. All they need to do is tell the guard they are meeting up with you and they will direct them to the parking lot. Your cousin can valet or just park themselves.

Arrived at the Poly today. I LOVE the new design but I must admit, I loved the cruise even more!!!

We went to MK but it was so much more crowded than it has been in the past this time of the year. We're going to AK tomorrow and then Epcot, hopefully neither will be too crowded.

We've had some glitches with the magic bands but with the wonderful help of Jeremy in Guest Services, the problem has been figured out and he's putting in a ticket to IT. For some reason, I am unable to use my band for any purchases or DDP credits, it will let me into the parks though.

I do think they need to block off a section of the Poly beach for resort guests only. We took the boat back from MK to watch the fireworks from the beach and yep, the family in front of us were going to watch the fireworks from Poly before heading back to their resort. Granted, just about every table was empty so it was not a big deal but had it been crowded, it could've meant the difference between a paying resort guest not having a spot because it was being taken by a non paying resort guest.

Here now and I honestly have no complaints. And the first room we checked into had no a/c. Went to gch and was moved in minutes. No need to change cards either. Worked right away. In Tokelau 3910. No bedbugs. Gv but I can see the beach and water and the castle when it us lit up at night.

the beach right outside of Tokelau.

Thanks for sharing this picture. This is one of my very favorite spots at the resort (and on property) and it will be a very different beach by the time I return to the Poly. It was a lovely quiet refuge and I spent many happy hours there over the years swinging in the hammock and reading a special book while hearing sounds from the Magic Kingdom and taking in all the activity on the lagoon. It was always on my list of must-dos to spend time there.

Checking out today from Tahiti room 2038. Great room with an amazing view do the lake and Magic Kingdom fireworks. No problems, no bugs, just a great time :)

Does Poly have those thermostats that turn off if there isn't any movement in the room? If so, is there some sort of bypass mode you can activate to force it to stay at a certain temperature? We sleep so much better when it's nice and cold in the room.

Unless they've changed them with the renos, yes they do have those thermostats. To bypass ... use a helium balloon :rotfl: Seriously, though. We normally don't care, but a lot of people say they just leave a helium balloon from the parks loose in the room and they have enough movement that they keep the air from turning off.
