New Journeys January WISH 2026

Woohoo... I have my physical therapy appointment today, really looking forward to getting some guidance. And woohoo I was able to get an appointment with my doctor on the 20th.

Not so woohoo... not feeling at all ready to travel Friday. It is probably just the usual of things feeling really BIG, but in reality it is just a matter of vacuuming, taking out the trash and packing.

WooHoo today went really good. IT could have been bad. I work scholarships and students have to turn in there fall grades before we can send out the spring payments. We also do not send payments the 2 weeks around the holidays. So this was the first check run and it was huge. So many things could have gone wrong but they didn't. Now this is all I did for today because it did take up a lot of time. So yay for it going smoothly.

I'm thankful that we are finally going live with the project I've been working on. The next few days are going to be chaotically busy, but at the same time tediously slow. It's just good to finally get it all going.

And I'm thankful to yesterday me for getting more protein and starting the stretching exercises right away. It might just be relief at finally dong something, but I already feel better this morning.

I spent 6 hours in the ER with DD today. She felt awful this morning and left work early to go to the walk in. Based on her symptoms and negative covid and flu tests, the doctor sent her to the hospital to get tested for a blood clot. She called me hysterical while I was teaching math, and I told her that I would meet her there. I tracked down my principal who got me coverage, but I burst into tears and couldn’t calm down. Finally I left and got to the hospital. DH beat me there. She had a chest Xray which showed nothing and bloodwork which indicated a blood clot. She then had a CT scan. She tested positive for Influenza A. Fortunately, she did not have a pulmonary embolism. She apparently had a blood clot which resolved itself.

I’m thankful that my daughter just has a terrible case of the flu. Let’s hope that I don’t get it too. We’re all vaccinated, so if I get it, it won’t be as severe as it could be.

How frightening... I hope you are both doing better today.

I am so relieved that my legs are feeling better, I feel like I've turned back from the edge of the cliff. I'll be on my feet at lot the next week, but I think it is manageable and I can work in the war room if I need at break. It'll also be fairly easy to get a high amount protein, since we'll be eating out quite a bit and I don't have to cook it myself. one small plus from being away from home.
