ALOHA! The Poly FAQ: Winter 2011 Edition

A small waterfall by one end should do nicely. And to add to that dream - a hot tub?

Sorry...my dream does not have a hot tub--LOL. I find them kinda icky. That hot water breeds so many extra germs and it feels like taking a bath with strangers:scared1: It makes my skin feel itchy and the extra chemical smell--not my idea of fun. I know--I am weird. most people love hot tubs. I don't like them and not having one at the Poly means I don't have to constantly tell my kids "NO" everytime they ask to get into a hot tub.

Feel free to continue your dream sequence with the hot tub.....:goodvibes

I wonder about the Polynesian can we some fireworks in the Magic Kingdom! Yes I meant Extra Magic Hours! and where in the map is the Outdoor movies I can't find it can you help me so i won't get confused thanks!

I'm not sure there is a "map" that gives you the location. If you would walk the path toward the GF, past the Wedding Chapel, there is a grassy spot and beach area where the movies are shown. It really isn't difficult to find if you stroll that path. The movies are shown on a giant blow up screen and they have a fire pit for marshmallows and s'mores. It is located before you arrive at the GF themed pool

I am so with you--hate hot tubs and all the bacteria that comes along with the kids who use it as a warming pool between swims.

You can always go to the Magic Kingdom for fireworks. You will always have the advantage of EMH after the fireworks. It is up to you whether you decide to view from Magic Kingdom or the beach at Polynesian. My suggestion would be see it once at the Magic Kingdom--it is worth it for a one time view. Thereafter you will see the benefit of viewing outside and avoiding the crowds.

With respect to the movies, see my post above. It will not be hard to find if you are looking for the movies. Arrive a bit before the scheduled time and you will have fun with kids. They do a few activities before the movie.

This is me too. I also don't swim in public pools. Chemicals aside, people pee in them and it's just too much for me. Yeah...I'm one of those people:rolleyes1

Can this month go any slower??? I just want my ADR date to come :worship:

Why is everyone so quiet? :confused3 I have been hanging out of the Iditarod race webpage for the past 10 days because my very good friend is running in it. He is in 5th place and holding! I came here to see what was going on with my Poly lovin friends and found us on page 3 again :scared1:

On the upside, I randomly got an e-mail from the IPO welcoming me for our October visit. Usually I contact them closer to my ADR date but they contacted me first  Of note, they have been having problems with e-mail address @att.net and @sbcglobal.net if anyone has been expecting an e-mail or sending one and they have not had a response this is why.

Happy Monday Everyone :flower3:

Well I haven't been on much 'cause I'm thinking about switching from Poly to POP. No discounts, you see....

But - I really :lovestruc Poly. So I'm looking at pics on Trip Advisor and anywhere else I can get my Poly Pics Fix. :goodvibes

Plus that cabana is really nice looking! :upsidedow

Popping in to say hello to you crazy lot. :goodvibes

Coerced the hubby into going back to the Poly (and the BC on a split stay) for our 10th anniversary. :thumbsup2 It was either Disney or lounge around on a beach in Cancun for a week and I know which one my 4 year old would prefer.

We pushed the boat out ... big time with this one and are doing TPV CL for our Poly stay. I'm already sleepless thinking about it and we've got half a YEAR to go. Oh my. (Our last stay was in Tokelau, Garden View. Have a feeling we're going to be ruining ourselves for any further trips.)

Already got in touch with the IPO. We're keeping our ADRs very minimal, especially for this part of the trip, because we like to take things as they come and not have everything planned out. We having dinner one night at Kona and having tea over at the GF -- can't wait for this, reading through the menu had me drooling. I will be compiling a list of recs made over on the dining board to have handy for a couple ADRs during our BC stay and in case we get bored of the Poly CL fare.

How plentiful are the beer and wine offerings in the lounge? Anything interesting I should know about? I know we've got some lushes around here so spill the beans.

Doing my share to keep the thread off of page 3. :thumbsup2
I emailed IPO a while ago with some questions and they sent me back the planning questionnaire with their answers. I've been slowly working on filling it out - just waiting for the October park hours to be released to double check our scheule then I'll be sending it off. At least the first number on our ticker is almost a 6. Too bad it's 6 months and not 6 days!

You are going to be so spoiled by the view and CL! :goodvibes

It will go by quickly for you I hope :wizard:

Mine is coming up soon - if I can just keep from switching - that is. :rolleyes1 Now I'm pricing out cruises....

I can hardly wait for:

Tonga Toast
Adult Grilled Cheese
Real coffee
Chicken Caesar Salad

The sounds from the boats :cloud9:
and the smell :lovestruc of the lobby.

What do you think my chances are of getting Figi this time?

I'm an att.net, and I just got my two IPO emails (staying CL at WL and Poly on our next trip) over the last week. I really need to sit down and look at park hours and figure out some ADRs. We've never done 'Ohana for dinner, so I'm thinking that might be a go this time.
