We are also on DDP so we can only get Tier 2 or 3. We were told that we could pick up the tickets from the concierge desk in the GCH at least 2 hours in advance and then just arrive 30 minutes before our show. :)

So they don' let you pick? At our 180 day mark we booked HDDR and they let us pick between tier 2 or 3 seating....at least for the earlier shows...the late show has no restriction on seating but the kids won't make it through the late show!

do the fridges have a little freezer in them? TIA!

No, the refrigerators do not have a freezer compartment. Wish they did as we have an insulin cooler. The old cube refrigerators that were available by request did have a small, open freezer compartment.

Minnie&Nana, we used to go to the character luau, too. For a while in the early 90s, it was our custom to go to it the first night of our vacation. We'd check into the Polynesian early in the morning, have breakfast at Coral Isle, go to the MK, return for a swim and then the luau. It was early, wasn't it? 4:30ish? Remember the shell leis that were handed out as you neared the luau as a welcome?

Is there a way to order personalized ears and have them in the room either the day we arrive or the following day for my DDs?

Also do you know if you can get them personalized with something other than a name? I'm not crazy about putting DDs names on the hat - but my DD#2 will turn 1 on our trip and I thought it would be cute to get her a hat with "I'm 1" on it.

You can try Disney Florist. They will deliver but they are a bit pricey.

What I have done in the past is ordered merchandise through the Disney Store such as autograph books and personalized ears and then made up my own welcome package with other odds and ends from Walgreens or the Dollar store. Then a bit after we check in and get settled DH and DD and I head out to explore the resort and I "forget something" and run back to the room and set out my surprise for DD.

If you do not have room in your suitcase for the gifts, you can pack a box with the gifts and some other supplies such as toiletries, laundry soap etc... and send it to the Poly. The box was delivered to our room after we checked in. Even with the cost of shipping the box, the surprise gifts still cost much less than using Disney Florist :thumbsup2

my excitement is overwelming right now. I can't stop smiling. We leave tomorrow! My DD's don't know yet. Off to finish packing while the girls are on a picnic with dad!

and I finally broke down to order mickeys grand welcome for tomorrow night. The only timeframe I could get was 7-9, so here's hoping that my girls are still awake! haha

I'm planning on shipping a package with puffs, bibs, diapers etc down - Do I ask for it when I check in or do they bring it to the room? How does it work. Does the Poly charge me a fee.

Finally! Only 1 more year, before we leave the plane to the Poly!

(It already is 4 years, we're planning this trip... what is one more year? :confused3)

wow! how did you do that? do they sell a cd in the gift shop or something?

I have not found any place that you can buy the loop music. There is a link that I found on here somewhere. It sounds like they just sat next to the speakers and recorded it. Lol but it sure brings back memories.

2 more sleeps!!!! :cool1: We leave tomorrow for the hotel at the airport!!!! YAY! :yay:

I have SO much to do still.... :laundy:finish organizing the suitcases....get cat food, get prescriptions, go to the bank, and CLEAN THE HOUSE!!!! (It's the best feeling coming back to a clean home!)

I hope the weather is ok!? It's looking like some thunder storms! :confused3

Hope everyone else who is going has a MAGICAL time! :wizard:

When you check in to the hotel just tell them that you have a package waiting for you. There is no charge! Make sure you label your package so that yhey know you are a guest.

I remember when we hit the one year mark this past December, it makes it seem like it really is going to happen. We started planning 600 days out, so I haven't had to wait quite as long as you have.

Hey, I remember--and in fact still have, those shell necklaces! We used to take the kids when they were little and would hula dance with the characters. There was an early show that began seating around 4:30 or so and it was a character luau. It was more kid-oriented than the evening show used to be. Now it seems the luau is more a conglomeration of both the kid luau and the former adult luau. We haven't been in many years, but the kids loved the show when they were little.
